Value
The best value bar in LP. I am not the biggest fan of the area to be honest, a super overrated version of Aspen, CO. This bar is refreshing because it caters to the regular guy. It’s not a club and it’s not a ski bar for tourists charging you 9 dollars for a draft beer.
There is always good music playing and the crowd is very loud and rowdy, which for me is a winner.
Stop by Zig Zigs, have an extra drink or two, and make some new friends.

This is the late night spot to be. The locals come here to drink as well. Great prices, pool tables and darts to play. Cool spot!

This place is definitely the late night location. We stayed on a Sunday night and it was open well into the wee hours of the morning.
I’d say it’s an excellent choice for a dive bar! Service is great, it’s a no judgement zone and there are pool tables!
Venture into the fun zone where the party is still on after midnight. Reasonably priced and clean. Cleanliness in dive bars is of the utmost importance!

Atmosphere: perfect for me and the buddies I was with. Foosball, darts, lots of draft beers, music not too loud. If I go back to placid, I’ll def be back.

This is definitely one of my go-​to bars when I’m in town. One of the main reasons being the owners (Brett and Dave) were good friends with my Dad but aside from that… I always have a great time when I’m there. Whether it’s enjoying a Bud Light or a Rumplemintz shot with the owners… Zig Zags is the place to be especially during busy times (i.e., Rugby weekend or Lax weekend)! Can’t forget the Budweiser bobsled outside! But I don’t suggest sitting in it… the inside it’s the cleanest at times… LOL

I come to Lake Placid once a year with a large group of people and we always stop into Zigzags for a few. They offer a sold selection of beer and the prices are quite reasonable. The bar has a jukebox, pool table, foosball and dartboards so there is plenty of things to do while you are enjoying a pint (or your libation of choice). Under normal circumstances it seems like a pretty laid back place to hang out, but it can be packed elbow-​to-​elbow on a busy weekend night.
Look for the red bobsleigh on the sidewalk in front of the bar — it a great photo opportunity!

It’s true, Zigzags does have the cheaper drinks in town. It’s also on the strip so you will see a mix of drunk locals and tourists.
I visited about 4 times in my 4 days in LP and both bartenders I interacted with were beyond friendly and accommodating.
I give them credit for what they have to deal with on a nightly basis… I saw a couple arguments defused within seconds.
This is far down on the strip so if you stayed down the road like I did you will have a chill walk back to your hotel. The cops crawl at night, DWI is not tolerated in this town so be warned, be smart and be safe.

This is such a fun place to hang out. Enjoy the beers and watching people try to get into the fake bobsled right in front of the bar and having fun of themselves. Very close to the mirror lake and many other restrurants.

Strong liquor drinks and cool bar-​backs. Good place to get shwasted. Greasy bastards in and outta the back room, assuming you could powder your nose back there if your into that shit. BYOB, bring your own broad not much hole to be had.

Stopped by on a quiet Tuesday evening. Definitely a locals bar, with much to be learned talking to them. Drinks are very reasonable. This is not the place to go if you are looking for food, as it is a true bar! Enjoyed the time there.

Buy one draft or well drink, and get the second one free. Wednesdays and Thursdays. For six bucks I got four drinks and I couldn’t be happier.
I stopped on a Thursday and was surprised to see the place vacant. The prices here are cheap and you can also buy a zig zag shirt here while you are in town.

This is a great little bar with plenty of room to enjoy your drinks, and no shortage of popular activities for alcohol-​induced nights. They have a jukebox, a pool table, two dart boards, and a foosball table. The drink prices are low, or at least low compared to the prices I normally willingly pay. The bartenders were nice and always brought their attention to our empty glasses. ZigZags has a good selection of beer, don’t go lightly on the liquor in their mixed drinks, and a comfortable atmosphere.

Whoa, this is the place to be apparently. Stopped in on a friday night and it was the only place on main street this packed. It had a okay selection of beers, but pretty high prices if I’m remembering right. Had a pool table, and some live music, lots of TV’s. Nice young crowd.

Good beer, darts, pool table, strong gin and tonics, classic rock, the regretable tequila shots, lots of townies and tourists side by side.
The MLB playoffs are on. My attention turns away from my game of darts.

Just a regular bar here. I believe the night I went there was a band so that was cool. Bartenders are very nice. Drinks seemed reasonably priced. It struck me as a local bar though I could be wrong. Everyone seemed to know everyone and I think they knew me and my buddies were outta-​towners. Not a bad time but now crazy fun either.
