Whispering Pines Campground

I just stayed at Whispering Pines this past weekend in Lake Placid. I’ve been up here multiple times, but never camped-​and for a last minute trip, and $ 25.00 camping fee, this sounded perfect.
I don’t do these reviews a lot (mostly b/​c I’m not super picky with where I stay), but wanted to put a good word in for Whispering Pines for a couple of reasons. A) the location is great-​especially if you are doing any hiking at the Adirondack Loj (it’s also really close to Cascade/​Porter/​Pitchoff). B) The girl at the check out was super friendly, which doesn’t always happen. The campsite was pretty bare boned, and she was (unnecessarily) apologetic, especially when I found out they’d just opened July 20^th. Her family had just purchased the campsite and are getting it going, and she seemed genuinely excited for possibly winterizing the cabins and getting a XC ski trail going. It’s always cool to see people genuinely excited for running a travel related business. I hope they do well and would definitely stay here again.
