Been here twice, had a blast the first time, got burned the second time.
The food is decent, but the portions are small. Might want to have a snack before you come because you’ll be leaving hungry.
The ambiance is nice, and we sat on the beautiful patio last time. It’s all screened in, so you don’t have to worry about bugs.
The second time we went, my friends just got a few rounds of margaritas, but I was the DD, so I got a marg and I ordered three food items. They only brought us one «round» of complimentary chips and salsa, and everytime we asked for more, our waitress would just say «OK» and never bring chips. Finally, we asked another hostess, and she refused to bring more chips unless we paid extra. I understand that chips are not included unless you buy an entrée, but I ordered enchiladas, tamales, and a side of rice.
We planned on coming here weekly, especially because it’s so close to where we live, but that won’t be happening anymore.

Food was very small in portion… my fiancé ordered pork tips but received what looked like wet cat food. My beef was burnt… rice was overcooked. Never going back.

Really good and authentic fresh Mexican cuisine. They have tamales. Need I say more? Thoroughly enjoyed mine with a tasty margarita. Kids had the shrimp enchiladas. All served with rice and beans and a plentiful portion. Definitely coming back next time I’m in the area.

No free refills on chips and salsa.
He loved it, had beef fajitas. I thought it was too salty. Also pricey for a Mexican restaurant. Service was good.

Amazing tender beef in the fajitas! I split the fajitas for 2 with my dad. We are both big eaters and we had plenty.
Service was outstanding.
Mom had q chimichanga that was huge. She loved the flavor and the texture. Great choice after 4 pm mass. Leave after communion to beat the rush!

Have been here numerous times. Super burrito is my favorite. Always a good meal, service is spotty, but has gotten better. Highly recommended.

After a few visits to this spot, I have to say it’s earned an extra star. The servers have been extremely hospitable and the more food we try the more we like it. The Chili Relleno is excellent and a great value at $ 3.95. The Chorizo and Bean Dip is addicting. And a very important point is that it is impeccably clean; the dining room and even the bathrooms. The salsa is a mix of canned and fresh but the chips are extremely fresh and are excellent even by themselves. This is a superb Mom-&-Pop restaurant. Don’t miss stopping here when you’re in Lake Placid.

Favorite Mexican place in lake placid ! Good food very clean place. Open on Sundays! The chimichanga is my favorite.

We had a great meal here. The service was fast and the waiter checked on us regularly. The chips and salsa came were good and refilled quickly. The casa margaritas were good, but the strawberry was a little too sweet. We had a ground beef chimichanga, taco salad, and casa burrito. All were fresh, hot, and tasty. We will definitely come again.

Even though this place got 3 stars we decided to try it. Boy were we suprised! The place was better than ¾ full yet we were greeted at the door. Once seated we were quickly served the chips and salsa sadly this was not to my satisfaction but I like it chunky you know not everyone likes the same thing the meal that we were served was made from high quality ingredients. placed upon the size plate they use it made the meal appear somewhat small in portion but looks can be deceiving! we will return for more of this delicious food!

I have no visited Lake Placid twice for business. This is our ultimate favorite place to eat while we’re in town. Being from Texas I have a taste for really good Tex-​Mex and in Florida that is very hard to find.
I haven’t ordered things here that do not taste amazing. I’ve had the chimichanga enchilada and the tamale all were amazing. Verde sauce is even harder to find and there’s was quite delicious. The atmosphere is comfortable and fun and our group enjoys going every time were in town. The sangria is also amazing!

It was the first time i’d ventured out to the city of Placid Lakes, and since I was visiting a friend, he took me to this Mexican Restaurant. At first, we didn’t know if they were open as there weren’t many cars in the parking lot, but we saw a family out on the covered deck, so we decided to go inside.
It wasn’t busy, but given that it had been raining all day, that’s not terribly unexpected. We opted to sit outside and enjoy the sound of rain on the tin roof as we dined on chips and salsa. When it was time to place our order, we chose apps of Guacamole and cactus salad. Both were tasty, though the Guacamole could have used more lime juice and salt. The cactus salad though, now that was tasty. Lots of lime and queso fresco made it quite yummy.
Dinner itself was carne asada and pork adoboado, both dishes were served with beans and rice, guac and pico de gallo. Each of these were especially tender and tasty. The seasoning on the pork had hints of cinnamon and I don’t know what else, but the flavour was amazing.
The service was ok, not exactly the fastest, but it was careful and considerate. I would return again if I find myself on that side of the world again.

Great fast Mexican and ice cold beers, when they’re open or don’t run out of food

Came here in a busy Memorial Day evening with a fairly large party on our way back out of town, and everyone truly enjoyed what they ordered — tacos, fajitas and chimichangas were served mild, so add hot sauce if you’re into the burn. Fajitas for two were the perfect amount of food for two people, and even the pickiest in our group savored every bite. They have a happy hour and daily specials so take a look at the board upon arrival.

We’ve eaten here a couple of times and have really enjoyed it! The pork in green chili sauce is incredibly yummy and I even tried heuvos nopalitos (I may have spelled that wrong) which is cactus in scrambled eggs. The queso (they call it fundida) is quite tasty and the margaritas are fabulous!
I want to come back to this review and write more after we’ve been back a couple more times!
