Cake Placid

YAY! I am a fan.
Ordered cupcakes for my husband’s birthday and it was AMAZING. Too good.
The cupcakes were rich without being too sweet… and dare I say MOIST!!! haha They were great. I will be sure to stop back in when I am up there again.
PS — The staff here makes it even sweeter!!!

YUM! My husband and I grabbed a couple cupcakes and a «cro’dack.» All were delicious and adorable!

I just wanted to thank Cake placid for being so awesome and accommodating! We desperately needed a last minute birthday cake and the owner not only took our order but delivered the cake after hours on her way home. Thank you a million times for your kindness and thoughtfulness!

Not what we were hoping for. Very bland and boring selection. Selection was more like something I would have expected decades ago. Too many items had chocolate in them. We ended up getting a cinnamon bun which wasn’t terrible, thus the two-​star rating, a croissant, which was stale, and an apple turnover which had very little flavor and was clearly not fresh as the shell was soggy. With a cheesy name like Cake Placid, we should have known better.

We stopped by after a hike around a nearby lake. We had a few donuts and other baked goods. They were delicious!

Cake Placid is an amazing gem in our little village. Providing a delicious variety of tasty treats, CakePlacid is a great destination to get the party cake you need. I highly recommend the Carrot Cake cupcakes.

Cake Placid is Lake Placid’s answer for any visitors with a sweet tooth! They have gorgeous and delicious treats of every type… cakes, cupcakes, cake pops, cookies, donuts, and more! For anyone hosting a party or wedding in the area, a cake from this shop is a must and they have some very creative ways of tying the feeling of the Adirondacks into their cakes (I saw one that looked like the cake was made of birch bark!) It’s a short drive from downtown lake placid and located in a small plaza with ample parking. Definitely worth the short drive and sugar filled calories!

Great little bakery. I’ve been there on two separate occasions (months apart) and it has never disappointed. You can tell that everything is fresh. Cupcakes are a good mix of traditional flavors with some unique ones mixed in. The red velvet and carrot cake cupcakes are moist and flavorful. Icing and cake are both done very well. Also highly recommend the donut/​crescent (can’t remember the name) hybrid as well as the cookie whoopsie pies. Overall a great little place to grab some baked goods.

Stopped by to get some cake pops for the wife and kids, which they absolutely loved.
But I spotted a savory scone and was really interested in what it was like. It was cheddar, bacon, scallion.
Of course I had to have it in the car on the way back to the hotel.
It was really really good. Very moist and flavorful. Had some biscuit qualities to it, but remained a scone.
Everything here looked so good but I restrained myself from getting more items.
This bakery is doing really good things and should be applauded.

Fun boutique bakery with delicious cupcakes, muffins, scones, bars, and cookies. Atmosphere is fun, there are a few tables you can sit at and enjoy your treats. Highlights were the service, taste, and prices. We got a creamsicle and gothic cupcake. They are beautiful pieces of art. The had a s’mores bar but we’re sold out by the time we got there but I can only imagine how tasty it must have been. Definitely get the cake pops, the red velvet was to die for. Fun fact, if you use your credit card to pay, they’ll have you sign an iPad. Didn’t expect this place to be so technologically advanced!

My family and I stopped in at this cute bakery based on Unilocal reviews– my 6 yr old says of her cookie dough cake pop– «best thing I’ve ever had in my life! Everyone should go here!!»
My husband had the OMG bar, and we all agree that it is aptly named. Seriously decadent.
This is a must-​visit while in lake placid. A week later, I’m still wishing I had gotten their version of a cronut… it looked amazing.

Loved this bakery.
It was my first time in Lake Placid so I made sure to do some research beforehand. I’m a huge cupcake lover and was beyond excited to come here.
They had so many different cupcakes to choose from. My original plan was to get multiple but unfortunately we weren’t due to check into our hotel for a few hours and it was 80° out. Not the best cupcake storing temp. anywho
We walk in and I stare at the case for a good 10 minutes analyzing each cupcake. At this point I know I’m only having one so I need to make sure I pick the right one.
I went with a campfire cupcake, which is basically a smores. Chocolate cupcake filled with chocolate ganache, topped with marshmallow buttercream and crushed graham crackers. It was delicious … the cake was soft and moist, not dry at all.
We also got a red velvet. I didn’t try it since I was already so full and my cupcake was pretty large, but the boyfriend said it was really good.
The cupcakes were fairly priced. $ 2.75 for a pretty good size cupcake. That’s average for the cupcake world. A bargain in my world.
They had numerous other treats if cupcakes aren’t your thing (Shame shame); lemon squares, smores bars, something called and «Oh my god bar», donuts, cheesecake, cake pops …
I can’t wait to get back here next year and try something different. and I’ll be sure to take some to go!

One of the best cupcake places on Earth. The staff is friendly and their love of baking can be seen with the creation and taste of each cupcake. They even offer Gluten Free cupcakes for those paranoid about life which is a nice touch.
I went for the Carrot cupcake and the Peanut Butter delight which made me feel like I was in Candy Land: just the enough sweet that makes me keep coming back for more but doesn’t talk to much. One could say the perfect date…

great bakery, they found a great location in lake placid, since the last one burned down.
the bakery has also added donuts, along with other bake goods including her famous cupcakes.
A def must to stop before you go on or on your way home.
