Came here with gift card to try it out. I don’t know, but I DO know BBQ… this is really not the place. Meat was dry!!! The only flavor was the sauce that I added to offset the blandness. Some kind of chemical or propane taste on my ribs also. The mac n cheese was a horrible joke… elbow pasta Is required. And seemed like they use Velveeta cheese liquid… I do not recommend this place. Oh be warned… they will charge you a extra dollar for the Mac n cheese in the combo and not tell you when you have a choice of any sides. Will not return!

We showed up at 1030 am becausetheir website said opened at 7am, but they didn’t open until 1100. At 1100 we walked in and the lady said I don’t know what time it is but we probably aren’t open yet. We asked to sit inside until they were open since we have 2 yr old and it was raining outside. About 10 mins later she took our order. The ribs were pretty good, definitely smoked, dry and needed the bbq sauce they gave us. The bacon mac and cheese tasted like water down white cheese sauce. The potato Salad was ok. The corn beard was great. Overall, if your in the area check it out but drive too far.

This restaurant’s pork ribs were good but sides such as bacon cheddar mac & beans bland. The food was ok but not enough to put up with discrimination. I would not give a restaurant one star based on bland sides. I’m giving this place one star(zero if I could) for treating my family different from the family that came in 20 mins after us! We walk in & were immediately told to grab some menus then come up to the bar when we’re ready to order. We set down & perused through their offerings. Then a lady comes up(I believe the owner or manager) and asked for my husband’s credit card to start a tab. At first I thought how strange because we came in with our 2 kids & sat at a table not the bar. but ok maybe that’s how they do things here. And no, the restaurant was not busy. We eventually went up & ordered our food. Another family comes in & was told to have a seat, handed a menu & the same lady who told us to order at the bar, came over to take their order. The kicker here is they were NOT asked for a credit card! Even my 14 yr old asked me why they weren’t!!! The only difference between the parties was my family is inter-racial. I WILLNEVER support a business that discriminates! Places like these discuss me. — — — — — — — — — — — — Update: Jenni, the owner, contacted me the day after my Unilocal posting. This is always a good sign that the business cares enough to read their reviews & answer concerns. Basically after remembering she was the one who requested my husband put his credit card on file her reply was: –some patrons in the past skipped out on the bill –credit cards are requested when you order an alcoholic beverage –they don’t have a policy set in stone on how to have customers place their orders because some can not physically come to the bar –patrons who came in after us were regulars My reply: –the other table ordered 2 beers –did we look like the ‘types’ that would not pay our bill, if so why –both table patrons were physically capable of ordering from the bar, why were we told something different –patrons were not regulars, they came in & didn’t know where to sit, didn’t know items on the menu & weren’t even addressed by name or with any familiarity The bottom line is I’m still not sure why we were given different instructions. All I know for sure is we were treated differently, we were the inter-racial family & I had to give an answer to my kids. We ate inside the restaurant not out on the patio. The restaurant was not crowded(3 tables total). Both parties ordered alcohol. If they don’t have a standard on how to treat ALL patrons then I hope my review helps them realize they need to develop one.

Now that is has finally broken 80 degrees, we decided to forgo cooking and dine outdoors. We could not resist going to the Pine Shed/Piglet. The cuisine is very casual, which suits us fine. We ordered at Piglet and sat outside where we could breathe in the aroma of the meat smokers. A cold draught beer and barbecue — it just doesn’t get any better. I ordered the shredded pork sandwich with a side of mac and cheese. My wife also ordered the pork sandwich with a side of pork and beans. The sandwich was huge, the mac and cheese are a must have, and the beans were«spicy» good. Try the cornbread, too. If you’re really hungry the BBQ plate for 2 is to die for. Piglet is not the cheapest place around, but when you get quality and quantity, you can’t complain. If you want cheap, get a McRib, if you want good come here. They have the smoker going daily, so can stop by on your way home from work for quick carry out. There’s hardly any wait and the food is hot and fresh. I’ve been to several other barbecue restaurants in the Portland area, and Piglet is one of the best for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. If you’re not local, I recommend making the drive.

Wow. Pine Shed was good, but this place has taken it to another level. I love it. Excellent sauce, ribs and brisket were perfect with an excellent oak smoke crust and all served dry, as it should be. I have experience with TXBBQ, after living there for many years and the Piglet is on point. Go eat there immediately. PS, cole slaw, Mac and beans were great too but who cares. We came for meat.

Run, Don’t Walk to get in line at Piglet! This order at the counter, friendly, fast service BBQ joint will leave you wanting more. Staff was über cool, knowing a fair amount of regulars that were filing in, food came out almost quicker than I could put water in my glass and the vibe is chill and inviting. I ordered a BBQ plate with Pulled Pork, which had the right amount of bark mixed in and Link Sausage that was made with love, came with a side of my choice(Bacon Mac & Cheese) and their killer Corn Bread. The Sauce was a perfect compliment to everything served in my pie tin at the bar. Looking forward to the weather getting nicer so I can sit outside in their parking lot of picnic tables while I enjoy a cold brew! I came in with some colleagues and a client and we all agreed we’d be coming back! Thanks for making great BBQ so close to my office– Cheers!

So this review has been LONG overdue but we absolutely love Piglet to the extent that it has become a Saturday morning ritual of ours to make the morning stroll over and sit down to have breakfast. Our love for Piglet is two-fold both for the love of their food/hot drinks and the staff, Melissa. She embodies all that you wish for in a place that you visit often. a welcoming smile, superb service, and quality conversation. The biscuit egg and smoked bacon sandwich will keep any customer coming back and is the premier favorite in our household. When you find good food and service locally, it is a win/win for everyone. Selfishly, as much as I want to inform everyone of this great little local secret, I also don’t want it to get TOO busy that it changes the laid back vibe.

Very exciting to see the evolution of Pine Shed Ribs and the addition of an indoor dining room which was renovated during the past year, now called Piglet, Pint & Pastry. As a long time fan of their food, my original review of Pine Shed Ribs still stands. A favorite lunch spot in Lake Grove, it is a place where you need to dine early on a rainy day to grab a seat. The seating is cozy and really feels like a community table on a busy day, so love thy neighbor. On a sunny day, you’ve got to eat outside on Pine Shed’s picnic tables. They request(rather forcefully) that you order at the counter first before grabbing a table. A necessary request since they have a definite lunch rush, but I could tell it was a little offputting for some new customers. Food usually arrives pretty quickly and the staff brings water and keeps things running smoothly. Because of the tight seating, it is a little complicated when you are meeting friends for lunch who are arriving separately. I typically order the sandwich(brisket off the regular menu or tri tip if it’s available) that comes with one side, a pickle spear and a bag of chips. So filling I usually end up taking some food home. If you go for the plate, you get a larger serving of meat and one side, plus cornbread. Nice to see that indoor space has really taken shape and expanded with the coffee bar, pastries and beer selections, so it isn’t just for lunch anymore. And the mountain lodge décor with vintage posters of Mt. Hood, skis and snowshoes mounted on the walls and my personal favorite, the red ski lift chair in the entry, make this mountain girl’s heart happy.

Seriously great BBQ in the burbs of LO! On a Friday afternoon, I was lucky enough to have the day off and meet my sweetie for lunch here… he was in the area doing work on a house… I suggested this little place. I’ve driven by many times, but not when I was hungry :) Very cute extension of their outdoor patio area. It was hoppin busy when we came in, we ordered, grabbed a table and our food was out in under 10 minutes! Defiantely great if you’re on a schedule! The pulled pork sandwich on ciabatta bread was giant! Next time we will share. Loaded with lots of meet and a side of pickled veggies… the meat was very good! We also had the bacon mac n cheese and a side of baked beans. The beans had a deep maple flavor that let you wanting more. The mac n cheese… very cheesy! If it wasn’t for being a lunch break during the work day, we would have had a beer too! I think we will be back in the evening for beer and smoked meat! They have a «4 o clock» small plates menu that looked pretty damn tasty :)

How can Pine Shed get better? By adding more pigs, of course! In this case, a Piglet. We stopped in for a leisurely bite of breakfast with visiting friends not sure what to expect yet. The register counter was chockful of pastries & sweet tooth cravings. We finally landed on a smores pie, cinnamon roll, and the last 2 of their bacon biscuit sandwiches. They have self serve coffee in big white mugs. We were handed out goodies on rustic pie tins. We dug into the warmed up cinnamon roll. Buttery & flaky. Next up was the smores pie as we awaited our sandwiches. This thing was soo good. A rich chocolate ganache in pie crust topped with homemade piped marshmallow topping that was torched just a touch. The biscuits arrived and they don’t look too crazy, but they were deceptive little buggers. The biscuit had a touch of corn taste and this yummy nuttiness and the over easy egg oozed its yolk all over. I’m guessing the bacon was Pine Shed’s cuz it was smoky and balanced the whole thing out. Another customer strolled in at around 11am, which is when they start serving Pine Shed BBQ as well and he got a big helping of ribs. The owner/baker & waitress were also so nice. She was excited to get feedback on the smores pie. I will have no problem turning Pooh Bear just to be Piglet’s BFF.
