I came into this store after an incredibly disappointing experience at the Rochester Hills Store and it was like night and day. Don in electrical was so helpful and very kind, informative and friendly with me. I actually learned a few new things from him. I’ll actually go out of my way to go to this location to avoid the Rochester Hills one because of how helpful they were here. Thank you Don! You turned what was a terrines experience at one home depot to a rewarding one at another !

Every time my husband and I run in, their employees are pleasant, helpful and know what they’re talking about. What we need is in stock and they match prices to online products. (We found an outdoor lighting set for $ 30 less on line, same product, and received $ 30 off at the customer service desk!)

I bought a Honda lawn mower from this store. It broke and I took it back. They told me I had to take it to another store. I explained that I just wanted another one. They were not helpful and tried to pass me off to a third party. They would not do anything and said it was not their responsibility. Not happy!

Very similar to other home depot stores around metro Detroit. Understaffed. Very difficult to find an associate to help you most times. Extremely long wait times if something needs to be retrieved from a high shelf(clueless customers just keep entering the aisle, and impede your progress, but employees will never ask them to wait 2 minutes to close the aisle). The general public is generally very unobservant, and totally oblivious to others around them. No biggie. Not home depot’s fault. Aside from that, if you can find an associate to assist you, they are usually knowledgeable and polite. Some of the worst quality lumber on the face of the planet. Everything is warped. 80% of the lumber is too bad to use for anything I care about. Management: Hire more people. Make sure they are educated in the area they are working.

To start off, I don’t typically shop at Home Depot, or the like. I’m not much of a do-it-yourself kind of person, but I am currently working on a project that required zip ties. Lots of zip ties. Before purchasing zip ties, I decided to look online to see where I can get the most for my money. Home Depot came up first, as expected — 1,000 zip ties for less than $ 20! I noticed they had a «pick up in store» option, which I thought would be great and save me a lot of time since I was already exhausted. To start off, I did not receive an order confirmation email right away after making my purchase online. It took about 10 – 15 minutes to receive said confirmation. Not too bad, but when I order things online I like to see the confirmation email right away(just a personal preference). Neither during the purchase process nor in the confirmation email did it say what time my order would be ready for pick up. I had to search the website to find that it would be approximately 2 hours. Not too difficult to find that, but it would have been nice to have a time range in the email. Figuring that I only ordered one 1,000 pack of zip ties and it wouldn’t take long to fill the order, I decided to head up to Home Depot right away and hope that it would be ready by the time I got there(I live about 10 minutes away). Right when I pulled into a parking space at the store, I received an email that my order had been filled and was ready for pick up. «Wow, perfect timing! This is great,» I thought. I walked into the store and went to the customer service desk specified in the email, and there were two customers in front of me and only one sales associate working. «Not too bad,» I thought to myself. Within five minutes, four more customers had gotten in line behind me, and there were still two in front of me. I’m not sure what the first customer was doing that was so confusing, but the customer service associate had to call someone and ask how to fix the problem. She had to have the person on the phone repeat himself many times, and the problem still had not been resolved. Now I had been in line for about 10 or 15 minutes and not moved an inch. Customers behind me had started getting irritated and had asked other sales associates walking by if they could help other customers to help the line move more quickly, and several of them had said that they were not register trained. Eventually another associate came to the customer service desk but said he could only help a customer that was making a return. «Well…at least they’re helping other customers,» I thought. I continued to wait, trying to stay calm, and then another sales associate(or manager) came to help the first man whose problem still had not been resolved, and the original worker then proceeded to help the man in front of me. «Great, now the line will start moving!» WRONGAGAIN. The lady couldn’t find the man’s order, and had looked all over, which ended up being right next to the shelf. FINALLY, after nearly 30 minutes in line, it was my turn! I tried to remain polite, because being in a retail position, I know what it is like when customers are rude. I handed my ID and order confirmation number to the lady, and she rudely asked/stated, «last name?» I told her my last name, she found my order in the computer(even though I could see the zip ties on the counter behind her this entire time), and she proceeded to get the zip ties for me. Once I had signed my name she took the zip ties to another register, without telling me, to get the receipt so I was not sure if I should follow her or not. I eventually slowly walked toward the register she was at and she handed the zip ties to me. I politely said, «thank you,» and she followed with, «next customer.» No apology for the delay, no, «have a nice day,» NOTHING. Terrible customer service!!! I could have driven to Home Depot, found the zip ties myself, and paid for them at a regular cashier quicker than I waited in line for in-store pick up. It had been over 40 minutes by the time I was helped, and once I was, I did not receive any friendly greeting or anything that would warrant possibly another star in this review.

I don’t even know where to start. I went in there at the beginning of July to purchase carpeting. They PROMISED me that it would be ordered and installed by July 23rd in time for a big housewarming party I was having. One week goes by, they finally come out to measure, another week goes by, no call about an installation date. I had to call to find out they had to «special order» my carpet(mind you this is just for one room), another week goes by, they finally come out to install. Oops! We measured wrong doh! Another week goes by, they had to send someone out to re-measure, another week goes by. FINALLY my stinking carpet gets installed. They send one guy to install it, he was there for 5 hours!!! The date August 18th. A tad bit after the July 23rd promised date. The whole experience left a bad taste in my mouth… blek!
