*****AVOIDATALLCOSTS***** I had recently purchased a Groupon which entitles me to a large outdoor banner. The Groupon clearly states for in store use only. I entered this location on Thursday 4⁄23 in the evening. I patiently waited in line while sales associate Logan ignored me and the customers behind me. Once he finally(and rudely) acknowledged me as a customer I inquired on how to use my voucher. He condescendingly advised me how I needed to order it online. I advised him of what the voucher said, however he never cared to even look at it b/c he «just didn’t understand.» He then handed me a mouse, turned his computer monitor around and told me to «just order it,» and then took the next customer. Obviously I could not order it b/c again it is an «in store» purchase. He then advised me to go home and order it, which again I could not do. This young man could not have been anymore useless. He never even attempted to ask another associate. His inability to provide any customer service and his straight up ineffectiveness at his position was an immediate turn off to me, a customer. I went back the next day 4/24, in hopes of finding an efficient and different sales associate in the print center. Upon my arrival the station was unmanned, about 3 – 5 minutes later(after having someone paged) a man came over. This man casually walks up to us, again with no acknowledgement until I force him to make eye contact with me. This man, turns out to be an assistant manager. I could not believe a man who lacked such urgency to help a customer was in a managerial position. His name was Lewis and he too insisted that I must use the Groupon online without ever asking to look at it, as I held it in my hand. Ultimately, I left the store and have advised Groupon that I require a refund, which they applied.

I’ve always been a huge fan of Staples and when I was recently in the Lake Mary area, I stopped in to look around for some supplies. I was promptly greeted by Sebastien who told me that if I needed any help to let them know. I found everything that I needed and I noticed that all sale items were in stock — which really made my day. Plus I got a great deal on a box of kcups.

Apparently Staples is so busy with their fall promotion they can overcharge and under deliver. While I’m glad they are offering 50% back in Staples rewards for the copy center(I would have actually used that), most of our projects need to be done quickly– a week just won’t cut it. In addition, if I have to use your machines on my own and wait around for 500 copies to finish printing, which takes several hours, I would expect to pay a significant amount less– not the same price as if your employees did it! I ended up taking my print job to an independent shop down the road(I’ll review it tomorrow once I find the name), who did the job in 1⁄10 of the time for ½ the price. Go local businesses! I highly recommend supporting your local vendors if you’re not happy with the service from the chain stores.
