Great atmosphere, engaging service, and wonderful steak. We split the porterhouse for 2 and it was excellent as always. We had a most enjoyable evening.

Arrived around 8:40pm, decided to sit in the bar area. All the tables were dirty. I had to ask for service, not what I expected from a Ruth Chris. Finally got our waitress, she was cordial and tried to make up for the shortfall. I thought the attention to detail for this fine restaurant needs to be revisited.

My wife and I where really excited to go for a nice dinner together. Reservation was perfect we sat as soon as we arrived. We ordered calamari as an appetizer and sweet teas. The server asked for our order. We ordered steaks, baked potato, and Cesar salads. About 10 minutes later another server said he would be assisting the other server. He then brought the calamari and bread to the table. The calamari is amazing if nothing else get it to go. Best we have ever had. 10 minutes later they brought the steaks and baked potatoes. No Salads so the second server asks do you want me to bring them out or hold the steaks? Well of course no salad like I want a steak under a heat lamp. The first server came to see how we where I told him about the mixup. He was very apologetic. I did like the steak perfectly cooked and extremely great beef. The baked potato could use a little help. I guess for the money I like Hilltop in Winter Park better for the money you pay.

Another home run and a great job for our anniversary. David and his team do an impeccable job and make you want to come back. Service staff was attentive yet balanced. Great steak, great wine, great dessert… outstanding.

I’ve only been here for happy hour. Atmosphere: As soon as you walked in your emersed into a luxurious enviorment. An enormous bouquet of red roses greeted us as we walked up to the host stand. Food: Everyone really enjoyed their food off the happy hour menu. I ordered the burger and fries and it was delicious. I’m a chocolate snob, but unfortunately their chocolate cake just didn’t do it for me. Service: Our waitress wasn’t the best. We told her in the beginning it would be separate checks, but at the end of the meal all our tickets were messed up. Then she made a snide remark about an extra drink that none of us ordered by saying«well who’s going to pay for it then». I know we were at happy hour, but this is Ruth’s Chris girl. Step your game up. We may come again in the future for dinner, but I won’t hesitate to ask for another server if I feel like the service is lacking again.

Winner ! We had a $ 50 gift card and we went during happy hour. I had the tenderloin salad that was incredibly mouthwatering to the last bite. The filet was cooked to perfection with a hint of the sweet maple . We also ordered the steak sandwhich was perfection as well! As for cocktails, the pomegranate martini was great.

We go often and have never been served a bad meal. The bar is great if you want to dine and people watch… it is noisy. For an evening of relaxation and a great meal the dining room is more private, get a booth sit back and enjoy. I highly recommend this particular Ruth’s Chris.

Ok… The great Ruth’s Chris. Where do we start? Our server came over after we had been seated for 9 minutes! What in the world has happened to quality service? Our beverages came out rather quickly. We had the Shrimp Cocktail which consisted of 4 medium sized shrimp that were below average. My wife ordered the filet. Yes she gets it Well-Done which I know the chef’s hate but hey that’s how she likes it. The filet came out rare. I kid you not. They brought it back and it came out medium which is fine, she dealt. My bone in Rib-Eye was tougher than Mike Tyson in 1987. I hadn’t been to Ruth’s in 4⁄5 years and now I know why. I hate to say it but you can get a better steak at Longhorn for half the price.

I had rib eye bone in, it was fatty as advertised but I didn’t care for overall taste of it. Stuffed mushrooms were good. Barbeque shrimp was awesome. Sweet potato casserole was amazing. Had my first 200 $ bottle of wine. Meh. I’ll stick with 100 $ and under. Waiter was super friendly. My girlfriend almost chewed on a piece of plate that was in her shrimp. We alerted the staff and they comped our deserts! Very cool. Most expensive meal I’ve ever had in my life. I knew that’s what I signed up for but the overall tastes and experience were mediocre. There were people dressed in sweat pants. Oh well. Not really impressed.

Nothing special. Been to better. Bar food quality is ok, service is crap, they don’t care… a bunch of pretenders, more corporate BS. Go to Christner’s!

What happened to the steakhouse we use to love??? This location use to be one of the best. Many of us «locals» would come here for happy hour as the first choice and my husband and I came here frequently for date nights for a nice delicious sit down dinner. However, from the service to the food quality it has all gone way down hill in the past year or so. When Ruths first started offering happy hour food and drinks at $ 7/item this became my favorite happy hour spots. They had $ 7 blueberry mojitos that came in large glasses and had about 8 or 9 items on the happy hour food menu. At my last visit the menu had been cut down to 5 menu food items at $ 8 per item and the drink menu is much smaller and drinks smaller and weaker. For happy hour our group arrived at 5:45pm and did not get food served until 7:30pm for happy hour. My friend had to send back her salad 3 times and they still charged her for it. It was another friend’s birthday and the restaurant did nothing to help her celebrate… no free drink or free dessert or even a coupon or happy birthday… And our server kept disappearing and went who even knows where. This has been a consistent experience at Ruths Lake Mary over the last 3 or 4 times I have eaten at this location for happy hour. The food quality at happy hour has gone down as well… Occasionally we order takeout lobster Mac and cheese or the stuffed chicken. Last two times we ordered takeout we received hard cold bread(once no butter in bag), chewy lobster, and the chicken was smaller than it use to be. On our last formal sit down the experience wasn’t as scarring but the filet came out undercooked then when we sent it back it was same filet burnt. Finally they gave us a new one cooked perfectly. I hate that this restaurant has gone down hill so much. What prompted me writing this review is I have heard from so many local friends say they wish it would go back to what it use to be. My hope is that management will read this and reconsider taking so many«cost saving» measures. Ruths Chris is considered a higher end chain restaurant. Patrons expect to have excellent service and excellent food! Thanks!

«I don’t always frequent Ruth’s Chris, but when I do…(nudge-nudge, wink-wink)» As I was saying, when I do, I’ve always had very good experiences with them, both the Winter Park location and this one in Lake Mary. We had a big party from work, with set appetizers, entrée and dessert. They handled the drinks well enough, with speed and accuracy. The seared tuna was right tasty(if a trifle salty), but the filet, it was done perfect — well, ALMOST perfect. With any thick cut like that(all filet 8 oz. and up), I always ask for it butterflied, rare. This ensures more even cooking and seasoning. And this was exactly how it was grilled. I watched as my poor friend sitting next to me order his MR, but had a center that was barely warm(no — I didn’t put my finger on it when he wasn’t looking — it just LOOKED like it was barely warm). So why«almost»? While it was cooked perfectly, he had sliced one half a bit thinner than the other! But that’s really quibbling, I know. Pretty much NOBODY had room for the cheese cake, which I polished off the next evening — might even have improved with age! So, great experience; 4 stars only because it’s not exactly a great value prop.

Service was ok. Food should’ve been better. Dinner for two to end our date night. We both ordered steaks from the Ruth’s classic section of the menu(decently priced for this type of restaurant). I ordered the filet and my boyfriend ordered a ribeye which the waitress let us know prior that they only seasoned with salt and pepper. Too bad we didn’t get enough salt or pepper to give any type of flavor to the steak. I ordered my steak well done and it came out that way my boyfriend ordered his steak medium well it came out dripping in blood. Steak was sent back into the 1800 degree broiler and when it finally came back we were ready to leave. It wasn’t horrible I rather make my steak at home and avoid paying $ 150 for mediocre food.

Best service and best food !!! Hector was our waiter and gave us a very memorable dining experience for our sons 23rd birthday. We ate here on 12-28-2015. We eat here about 2 – 3 times a month and every time we can count on a perfect meal and great service. Thank you. Bill and Sue F.

Food: of course it’s on point. Delicious. Savoring every bit to the last drop, tasting butter steak heaven for about two days after. The filet was out of this world, mashed potatoes were creamy and cooked to perfection, ended with strawberry shortcake that melted in our mouths. Ambience: also incredible. Why are you even reading this still? You know what you’re getting with Ruth Chris… it’s elegant, put together, romantic, and a classic. The service: left a little to be desired. We didn’t show up in hawaiian shirts and cargo shorts(I was even wearing a blazer with my button down!) but we were treated with a bit of an attitude and felt as if we didn’t belong. Overall, awesome food and amazing ambience, would definitely go back for a second try!

Filet Mignon is spot on — ALWAYS!!! So, is the creamed spinach. Always yummy and romantic atmosphere. They also have a bar area which is a little less formal but still a very classy/fancy restaurant. Their deserts are so yummy and even if you’re tummy is full they’ll pack them up to go — Crème Brûlée is amazing! Probably my favorite restaurant to go to on date night.

Never thought I could go to Ruth’s Chris for under $ 20. Just had dinner off their happy hour menu where each item is $ 8.00! I ordered the crab blt with zucchini fries and my friends both ordered the Prime burger. We all enjoyed our meals along with a tasty adult beverage. I LOVE blue cheese stuffed olives so I had the Dirty Goose Martini. Mmmmm!

My husband surprised me and took me here for our 11th Anniversary. It was great! The steak was cooked perfectly, the sweet potato casserole was great too! I say the only thing that would have been nice is if they would have given us a slice of dessert or something to say thanks for celebrating your special day with us. But I guess since it was Ruth Chris they don’t have to do that. But just saying it would have been nice… Also they didn’t pay attention when we told them it was our 11th year anniversary as you will see in the picture on the dessert we ordered and paid for they put the wrong year. But the cake was good. lol

On August 21, Ruth’s Chris Steak House celebrated its New Orleans heritage and cocktail craftsmanship with a five-course«Hand-Crafted Cocktail» dinner at 99 participating restaurants nationwide. Lately I have been exclusively focused on wine and wine pairings. Food loves wine and vice versa. That said, wine pairing dinners more often than not are served with under-seasoned dishes; since the primary focus is on appreciating and highlighting the nuances of fine wine. In contrast, Cocktail Pairings are a marriage of two contrasting skills — Cuisine and Cocktails. Hand-Crafted Cocktails are an innovative skill showcasing best of both: Chef-inspired dish and Cocktail. Without further adieu, I present to you the sensational and savvy 5-Course Hand-Crafted Cocktail Dinner, I had the pleasure of experiencing at Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse. First Course: Maple-Bourbon-Glazed Jumbo Shrimp with warm five-bean salad accompanied by Seelbach Sparkling Cocktail featuring Sparkling Wine, Bulleit Bourbon and Cointreau. A Whet your appetite combination — Bourbon glazed shrimp matched the smoky flavor of bourbon with a dash of effervescence from the bubbly. The bubbly cleansed my palate while refreshing the mouth for another bite. Second Course: Seared Ahi-Tuna with slaw, crispy rice cake, and fresh cilantro oil accompanied by Moscow Mule featuring Ketel One Vodka, Domain de Canton Ginger Liqueur, Ginger Ale, fresh lime juice and candied ginger. The Ahi-Tuna accompanied by Moscow Mule was the perfect example of how cocktails pairs beautifully with intensely flavored food. The Asian inspired perfectly cooked Ahi-tuna tempered off with the cooling and refreshing vodka cocktail — a ying and yang dish! Third Course: Slow-Roasted Pork, Arepa Corn Cake creole sauce, and fresh avocado accompanied by Agave Bee’s Knees featuring Don Julio Anejo Tequila, Smirnoff Wild Honey Vodka, fresh lemon juice, honey syrup and candied honey stick. Spice lovers, you are in luck today. The slow roasted pork sitting in a bed of bold creole sauce paired with the sweet honey concoction enhanced this dish as a whole. To be honest, I am a single malt whiskey on the rocks kind of gal. Sweet cocktails are usually wasted on me. For once, I thoroughly enjoyed this sweet concoction. The sweetness of the honey syrup and honey stick balanced the heat of the creole sauce — a brilliant pairing if I may say so. Fourth Course: Sizzling Filet Mignon with crispy fried shallots and horseradish crème fraiche accompanied by New Fashioned featuring Bulleit Rye Whiskey, Cherry Heering, Candied Orange and Amarena Black Cherry. Accompaniments include: Potato & Tomato Gratin and Ruth’s Creamed Spinach. A full bodied drink for a full bodied dish. This course was specially designed for Whiskey aficionados. Russet in color with rich oaky aromas, the New Fashioned complimented the steak with it’s rich texture and body. Medium-rare filet, rye whiskey, and creamed spinach — a dazzling course! Fifth Course: with seasonal berries and crème anglaise accompanied by Chilled Vanilla Irish Coffee featuring Dark Roast coffee, Bushmills Irish Whiskey and Baileys Vanilla Cinnamon Irish. Chocolate, Coffee, and Whiskey in one bite — isn’t it the ideal chocolate lover’s finale? After such a huge meal, the chilled Irish Coffee was precisely the pick-me-up I needed to drive myself home. And may I add, a decadent finish to this lavish dining experience. Standing ovation to General Manager Tom Brandt, Janielle Whitehead(Sales Manager), Kyle Tague(Southern Wines), Chef Sarmiento, and entire staff of Ruths Chris for enlightening my palate and hosting this luxurious hand-crafted cocktail dinner. Come with an open mind and allow the Chef and Mixologist to tantalize all your taste buds with their delectable pairings. I for one enjoyed each sip and every bite! Me and my gf had our 1 year anniversary here. It was beautiful. Rose petals on the table. They sat us away from other guests. It was romantic the food was absolutely amazing. The waiter was a little weird. But not the restaurants fault. They took our picture and printed it out for us to take home. They also brought our desserts out with happy anniversary written on the plates.
