We decided to make a Wisconsin leaf run and realized/remembered that all the restaurants/dark bars on Lake Geneva WITH a VIEW are overpriced and not very good(after a Unilocal search), so we decided to wing it and made a sharp turn into this big nice clean BP/Subway that had a «Two foot longs for $ 8.99» sign… Above average college looking help with a sense of humor, a 20 oz 99c Diet Cherry Dr. Pepper and we were back on the road with our $ 10 lunch AND Dinner leftovers to park ON the lake with a VIEW and feed the 50c an hour meters(cheap in Illinois)… We grabbed our picnic blanket and had a wonderful lunch on the grass and a lovely VIEW of the lake. There are also benches, no picnic tables that I remember. You can walk ALL the way around the lake, 26 miles? Fascinating look at the lake and the backyards of some interesting homes, some who are probably not as excited about the public easement on their very private expensive property. Really a shame there aren’t many reasonable food options in Lake Geneva, but we had a fine lunch WITH A VIEW in Lake Geneva for two for $ 10!
