Very inventive combinations of ingredients and great flavors. The Manhattan and Margarita were both solidly prepared and the Manhattan had the nice dark cherries — not the horrible maraschino kind. The Greek ribs appetizer was probably the least liked of all the dishes we tried. The combination of oregano and lemon was overpowering on the ribs which tasted warmed over from being cooked in the oven first. The shrimp bisque soup was a truly amazing dish. It is too rich and flavorful for a bowl — get a cup instead. The fried jumbo shrimp got lost in the very strong flavor of the bisque. A few nice crisp croutons would serve this dish better. The truffle fries were a bit on the limp side but extremely flavorful but not overwhelmingly so. The grilled octopus appetizer salad was perfectly cooked albeit a tad salty and overdressed. A chocolate ganache cake for dessert was decadently dark and creamy. Bread service was mundane and not of the caliber expected at a restaurant charging these prices. Service was spot on attentive and timely.

After a disastrous dinner the night before, we wanted to go to a place with excellent reviews. This place did not disappoint! Everything is cooked on a wood-grill(only one in Lake Geneva) and you can easily taste the flavor in your food! For an appetizer we had the truffle fries. The potatoes are shoe string and come with an amazing crunchy texture. Dinner consisted of seared scallops with fluffy and creamy mashed potatoes. Next to that was a spicy and sweet red bell pepper relish. Although I’m not one to really love spicy, the spice was so short lived. I would’ve taken a jar of it home if I could! My boyfriend got the ribeye steak. On top of his ribeye was a herb butter that melted as the meal progressed. He said he crunchy sear made the steak one of the best he’s ever had. His dinner also came with a side of mashed potatoes and the bell pepper relish. Would absolutely recommend this place to anyone!

Wow. Worst customer service experience of my life. I had a reservation and the little girl handling front of house tried to push me to some back room. Went there — the back room was a bar that smelled like wet ass. Asked the same little girl if I could be seated in the main dining room — there were several open tables. She said no sorry with a huge smirk on her face. Shame on you, Medusa. This is not the way to treat a customer.

I believe this is the first review I have posted. We dined at Madusa last night with my family and it was one of the best meals we have all had. Our table had surf and turf’s while I had the scampi diavolo. All amazing dishes and the grilled octopus appetizer was unbelievably good as well.

The food here is outstanding. When you see it from the outside, it is very deceiving. It looks like a dive. When you go in, it still looks like a dive. However, the food was great. Everyone in our six party group raved about it If you are a foodie, this is the place to go. The soups were especially good — I got a second bowl of the lentil soup in pork broth. My trout was grilled perfectly too.

Holy cow. This place was incredible. If you love good food and want to trust the chef, this is the place. Lamb chops are perfect. Lobster was perfect. Steak was perfect. This homemade red sour kraut was perfect. The best mash potatoes I’ve ever had. And the beer pairing was perfect. B Come here. Forget the rest.

Fantastic experience with my wife last weekend. Saganaki was a great start. We then shared the grilled calamari appetizer and the chefs meat platter… what an amazing assortment! Would return in a heartbeat.

I brought my mom here for Mother’s Day, well, the day before because Medusa isn’t open on Sundays. When we arrived, I thought, wow this place is small… then they sent us outside and three doors down to the lounge, which I was skeptical of at first, but when we got back there, I realized the lounge was perfect for us! Even though we were stuck in the corner by the bathrooms when other tables were available… we still had a great time. There is a bar and then two rooms joined together with tables. The music they were playing was not your average annoying restaurant music, it was a mix of Santana, Rolling Stones and other great tunes that my mom and I loved. Our server, Mike, was attentive and funny and took great care of us. We are from Chicago so we have a wealth of amazing and authentic restaurants at our fingertips and Medusa did not disappoint. We started with wine, the wines were really well priced compared to Chicago. For an app we had to have the saganaki, mom loves it. Then we both had the shrimp bisque with a huge grilled shrimp in the center, it was delicious. For main course my mom had the scallops, which were borderline cooked(nearly raw), but also delicious. I had the lamb chop, which was cooked perfectly and had a delicious crust, there was sauce over the chop which I found unnecessary but still really good. I also enjoyed the mashed potatoes that came with the main courses. We finished our meal with gelato, absolutely amazing. My favorite was the coffee, my mom loved the salted caramel and the pistachio was tasty too. I highly recommend Medusa’s, I am guessing it is probably one of the best restaurants in the area and the prices are fair for the great quality of the meal. Popeyes on the lake is not so great quality and about the same price… I guess you pay for the view there. My mom and I can’t wait to come back and sit in the lounge for sure! Maybe ask for one away from the restrooms ;)

I have no idea how this place has 4.8 stars on Unilocal currently. I hardly ever write reviews for places, but I was compelled to do so because this place was so offensively bad and overpriced. This isn’t a «bad experience» 1-star review, either. The service and atmosphere was fine. The steak I ordered medium was rare and our server was apologetic and fixed it right away. It’s a 1-star because we paid $ 95 for two people for… what exactly? Bland food that was SO oily and greasy that I probably could’ve taken a few laps in it. Bottom line: EXTREMELY overpriced and the food was more of a side dish to the oil that it inhabited.

I was blown away by the quality of food here. Excellent, super fresh, such sophisticated flavors. I think this place tries to get local or sustainable foods. Wild Alaskan salmon grilled on real grill with maybe wood chips, not over cooked at all, so light. Lobster was not over cooked at all, which is often the case elsewhere. Salads were excellent and so tasty too. Service was appropriately nice.

My most favorite restaurant in Lake Geneva. Don’t let the plain outside fool you — the food is amazing! The chef is the owner — if he’s off, the place is closed, can’t get much better quality control that that! We first stopped here to kill some time before our reservations across the street. I was hesitant not knowing what to expect but you can’t mess up a glass a wine, so why not. After a glass of wine at the bar & an app, we ended up cancelling our reservations and staying for dinner. Always try the soup — will not disappoint, no matter the type. Be prepared for generous portions, sometimes my husband & I share an entrée so we can get soup, maybe an app but definitely dessert. The Greek style ribs, as an app or an entrée — AMAZING! Many specials seafood, lamb, steak — never disappoints. You MUST save room for Chef Greg’s gelato! The pistachio — WOW! Its what peanut butter is to peanuts… no neon green yuck — simply delish!

Hubby and I went to Lake Geneva for a mini babymoon and several people suggested this restaurant. We are so happy we took their advice! Great vibe when you walk in. We started with the skordalia, which was absolutely fantastic. The veggies were fresh, the pita was perfectly buttered and grilled, and the dip– oh the DIP! I could have licked the bowl! We then split the chef’s special, which consists of a chicken, beef, and pork and three seafoods. Because I’m pregnant, they let us choose our seafood. We chose trout, shrimp, and salmon. Unless you are ravenous, you do not need to order one of these per person. It is a lot of meat and sharing will still give you plenty of food. The pork became a patty, the beef was a kabob, the chicken was topped with the most delicious dill tzatziki, the shrimp was perfectly grilled, trout was delightful(and large) and the salmon was cooked on the most delicious cedar plank/oven. Outstanding. All the flavors were spectacular and complementary. We will absolutely revisit Medusa when we return to Lake Geneva!

Went there for the first time and must say that I was underwhelmed. It’s a premium price restaurant with very average food. The bread they brought out was stale, and it set the conditions for the rest of the meal. We ordered calamari and peppers and pepper. The calamari was well done and would order it again. The sausage and peppers were severely overcooked. I like my sausage crispy, but these were dried out crispy. I also got the tomato bisque which was well done. For the main meal, I ordered chicken picata with angel hair pasta. It tasted ok, but very very bland. If the prices were of average price, I wouldn’t have been as disappointed as I was. I have no problem eating at higher end restaraunts, but I expect higher quality fair.

Medusa’s was awesome. I wasn’t sure what to expect, they are only open for 4 hours a day. I knew the owner was somehow affiliated or related to the Popeye’s crew. And maybe it was sort of Italian, maybe Greek. It’s Greek’ish. The bread they serve you is totally homemade European bread– the best! I’m Serbian and I know about this stuff. The place is cute, small but not cramped, gets crowded obviously because everyone is trying to get in there in a 4 hour window of time! Our waiter was a tall bearded dude, he was cool. The chef is back there in a semi open kitchen in a tie dye shirt calling out the guys names to come fetch their orders. The vibe is easy breezy. We started with the grilled calamari, big tubes and tentacles presented beautifully on a bed of greens and red sauce. Nothing was over the top — just pure quality, very fresh seafood and veggies. Just enough for two sort of hungry people. We ordered the suggested Chef’s Plate we chose land and sea and split the plate, which costs around 9.00 and totals to about 55.00 for the entrée. We got scallops, halibut and lobster(yummmmmm) with pork tenderloin, filet and chicken(outstanding). A side of creamy. tasty mashed potatoes. I ordered a side of rapini and it was delish with garlic, with a giant block of creamy feta(tasted like French Feta and if it was they get an A+) perched right on top. This place is so me… haha. All items either lay in or are topped with some sort of deliciousness — whether it be red, white or green. It was all amazing. I mean, my husband was beyond pleased. I think his eyes were closed almost the whole time. It was really solid though. I almost wasn’t expecting it to be so good. We ordered the salted caramel and chocolate gelato — both served on a frozen plate and tiny little spoon. The scoops are big and were really, really good. Chef makes the gelato too. Respect. I think Medusa’s will surprise you. It’s kind of big city in small town feel. We’re from Chicago so we know our food, and Medusa’s would keep up good. Good music too.

Oh my Lord! This place is amazing! We read the reviews, and being from the area, had to try it for our anniversary dinner. We started out with the grilled Calamari, and it was the most amazing calamari I’ve ever had(& I’ve lived in Italy!) Main courses were the Ribeye with Lobster Tail and Lamb Chops– both served medium rare– and it was to die for. Seasonings were perfect, everything was done perfectly, Adam was a great waiter, I couldn’t be any more pleased with anything. My husband had the Mediterranean Collins, which was so flavorful and refreshing! Also, we tried the corn which has been highly recommended by other reviews, and it was like candy! It was great, along with the button mushrooms! Will absolutely be back!

I will have to say this place is the best restaurant in town. Their ribeye was tender, juicy and tasty. Please get it. Did I mention their Halibut is amazing?! Corn is a must to get. They give you a bit too much though. But, whose gonna complain haha This appetizer. I can’t remember the name, but it had goat cheese and tomatoes. Greek food. It was fantastic! You will love it

If the prospect of a great restaurant in Lake Geneva scares you, then Medusas will turn you to stone. This place has a Greek chef and there’s a Greek flair to most everything. Don’t expect any gyros though. The food is high brow and very good. A nice mix of seafood and meat. Vegetarians could have a pasta primavera and that’s about it. If you’re vegan, this is not the place for you. Our party of three ate rib eye(cooked perfectly at medium rare), shrimp kabobs, and scallops — also miraculously cooked perfectly. You know it’s hard to cook large scallops well and this chef knows what he’s doing. Outstanding. All of our meals came with curried cabbage and mashed potatoes. They offer vegetables for two a la carte, but we had Brussels sprouts and burrata as an appetizer. It was so good. We also had calamari as an appetizer. This calamari is grilled, in whole pieces, in a wood fired grill. It’s served on a pomodoro sauce and has a lovely almond purée served on the plate. Bottom line — this is not your fast casual dining calamari. It was amazing. Service here was fantastic. Our server, Tori, was far from pretentious and was amazingly genuine. And, she makes a mean cocktail — a gift rarely found in most restaurants. We also enjoyed a bottle of Sardinian wine which is a bit off the beaten path. We liked that wine a lot and it was worth the leap of faith. One thing to be aware of at Medusas — the restaurant has a front section and back section called ‘the lounge’. The front section, which was full when we arrived, had the decibel level of a jet engine. Modern looking and beautiful, but way too loud for any sort of conversation. We moved to the lounge and it was dark paneled and much more cozy. Completely where you’d take a date. I don’t usually comment on the muzak, but they played classic rock from the 70s. I thought it odd, but my husband loved it. It’s not distracting in the least, just sort of humorous. This place is pricey, but worth it. You should go.

I was taken to Medusa for a surprise dinner and I loved it! The space is very small, but the atmosphere is great — very lively, but dark and comfy as well. Casual, yet upscale, and very friendly. We had a reservation — which is really a must– and were quickly seated in a great table with a view of almost all of the restaurant. We were greeted quickly and the specials were shared. I tried some wine(delicious) and tried to decide what to eat. There are seriously not bad options here — I wanted to try everything! I settled on the lobster and scallops, but I also luckily got a try of the chef’s special(which is an amazing option — multiple meats and seafoods — or you can also pick either all meat or all seafood). Everything was amazing — fresh, flavorful and absolutely delicious. There was way too much food, but it was so good that I didn’t want to stop eating it. The special salad was a burrata, brussel sprout, onion and tomato and was perhaps one of the best things I’ve eaten. I really enjoyed every minute of dinner. Service was really really friendly and we were never rushed at all though it was very busy. A bit expensive, but very high quality and portion sizes were large. Definitely worth a visit and I can’t wait to go back! Food — 5 Service — 5 Atmosphere — 5 Value — 4 Bathrooms — 4

What can I say. This place is amazing. From the outside it doesn’t look like much but once you get inside it is well decorated and cozy. I tried the steak lobster and scallops and started with the Barratta and Brussels sprouts dishes. The Barratta and the brussels sprout appetizer was good individually but they really didn’t go together. However the flavor of both with the cranberry chutney was amazing. For my entrée the steak lobster and scallops were all cooked beautifully. Everything on this dish was amazing even The spinach under the steak. They even had gelato that I was too full to try. Can’t wait to go back and eat here again definitely a must do.
