I think I ordered a fairly safe item that I have had at several Thai restaurants over the years. Crying Tiger. I am familiar with nicely sliced thin tender beef with an amazing savory lime, cilantro spicy sauce. What I received was awful. Thick, chunky, fatty slab of beef, almost zero marination. I asked for it to be done spicy, but the server said no, and brought me the side trio spicy jalapeños, etc. The sauce given to pair with the crying tiger, was a red almost out-of-the-bottle from the grocery store chili sauce. Horrible. I honestly cannot understand why more than a 2 star would be given to this place. I went there strictly on the reviews. I havent had this problem ever.

I really have to question anyone’s palate that gave this place 4 or 5 stars. The Tom kha soup was sweet. This soup is supposed to have savory flavor from the galanga root and a lime aftertaste from the kaffir leaves. Even though both of these ingredients were in my bowl, the soup had neither in the flavor profile. The crying tiger was fatty, tough, and barely marinated. I am only giving this place two stars because the server tried hard, but when one can get better thai food at one of the place that has it sitting out in trays all day, a cook to serve restaurant is doing some really wrong.

Been by here on a couple occasions now for takeout only. Usually busy at lunch from what I’ve seen. It is a smaller dining room so it gets crowded quickly. If I recall correctly they may have a few seats outside as well. One visit they even opened their doors just ten minutes before their dinner hours to take my order. I really appreciated that. So far, I’ve tried their Tofu(fresh not fried) Yellow Curry and their Chicken Pad Thai. Both are delicious. I usually have enough for at most three days’ work lunches, too, so my portions allow for that. Really happy with my selections and I look forward to trying more from their menu. FYI~ If you pay by cash, they give you a 5% discount from your bill.

Best Tom Yum soup I have ever had. Different than most Thai restaurants around, more sour and less sweet. Everything else I’ve trained has been fantastic. green curry fried rice is also fantastic. I think this place would get much better reviews if their service was a tad bit friendlier. I think it leaves a bad taste in Customers mouths. No pun intended. But if you truly know food, you know this place is good.

Service can be a tad slow even when there are few customers. Aside from that, I only go there for the Curry Chicken. It is sooooo good I could bathe in it.

The veggie fried rice was good. I wish they had spicy veggie(no tofu) pineapple fried rice. Not much seating inside, but it wasn’t crowded anyways(there was always at least one free table while we were there). The price was good.

Best thai food I’ve ever had. My takeout order took long, but it was worth it. Also great pricing. I got 3 entrees for $ 25

–1 star because the waitress looks like she hates her job. She makes me feel bad for coming in. Hopefully they don’t lost business through her. I love the food here though!

This place is a total hidden gem! Came here for the first time on a Thursday afternoon after my best friend referred to it as the«best Thai food ever!» The place was empty, not ok people! The food here is incredible. Even their presentation is amazing! They have a ton of different items on the menu. I got the salmon curry and it was out of this world! They even serve coconut water in a real chilled coconut :) this place is a must try !

Lower prices=smaller portions. But food was fresh and tasty. Their pad see ew is really good, as is their spicy basil fish fillet and sticky rice with mango desert. Just wish portions were a little bigger.

Basically a take away establishment, however they have a few tables. Good luck on the service, because there appears to be only one one waiter/cashier/take away order writer. He may be the cook too??? I was there for take away. The interior is very dimly lit at night. Get near the TV to help illuminate the menu to order. Speaking of menus, there aren’t any take away menus — in the restaurant or, even worse, online. That last fact, and mentions in Unilocal reviews over the years, lend zero credence to the excuse given me that«we just ran out». I only asked because I couldn’t find a menu online. When I mentioned to the fellow that he might get more business with an online menu, he didn’t seem to understand English that well. Many previous reviewers complained about the portion size versus the cost. I wholeheartedly agree. Tasty Thai are not cheap(in spite of one $ symbol), and their take away portions are definitely small. They accept major credit cards, but they will give a 5% for cash. That last bit takes a little of the sting out. Very little. The food was good, but no better than any number of Thai restaurants within 5 miles. I probably won’t be back unless they get their act together on service, menu and portion size. Meanwhile, I’m not holding my breath.

Wow! Amazing food! My husband and I always get the orange chicken and crying tiger. The orange chicken is crunchy and the crying tiger is full of flavor! We have been here a few times and always have a great tasty meal. The only thing I would recommend is an extra waiter. The waiter is always kind and brings out the food right when it’s ready. An extra waiter would relieve the stress when you get a lunch or dinner rush. It’s incredible to read some of the bad reviews on this place. People need to be kind and give feedback if they didnt have the best experience not be rude/insult. Tasty Thai is delicious and deserves 5 stars!

I love their food, they’re all packed with flavor! Food are served in a timely manner, and the ambiance is welcoming. I love their Pad See Ew and my family and I always gets the Shrimp wrapped in wonton wrappers for our appetizer. We always try to dine in here atleast once a month or twice. TWOTHUMBSUP!

An overall average Thai restaurant in an unassuming strip mall, surrounded by industrial parks. I am sure they cater to a lot of businesses that drop by on their lunch break. The food is nothing to write home about but boy did I get a kick out of their presentation! Tom Yum Noodle Soup — When you come in for lunch and order an appetizer, you get a choice between a complimentary soup or salad. I opted the former and got a cup of hot & sour soup. Nothing special. I’ve been on a major Thai noodle soup kick as of late. I’ve never been into the Tom Yum flavor but my taste buds must’ve matured or something because I have to have it every time I eat Thai. There’s something about that sourness that always leaves me wanting more. the noodles comes with a TON of bean sprouts. I thought I got lucky when I easily removed the ones floating at the top but they were all sitting at the bottom, underneath the noodles. Darn! The bowl of noodles comes with an assortment of fish balls, fish cakes, ground beef and shrimp. Then it’s sprinkled with a healthy serving of ground peanuts. The soup lacked that distinctive sour flavor, which is what I was looking for. Without that, the dish fell short. Thai Iced Tea — Really sweet tea but awakened by palate nonetheless. I like the modern glass they serve it in but because of its slim size, I’m wondering if the serving size is the same if it were to come in a normal glass. Hmmmm! They have an AYCE which is basically a medley of fried items and Thai dishes I would prefer to skip. If that’s what you’re into, then it’s a pretty good deal. They don’t bring out the AYCE menu to you so make sure to ask for it!

First and last time at this Thai restaurant. Went here in hopes of finding a good thai restaurant in Lake Forest. Came here on Sunday for lunch. Was seated immediately when we arrived. Waiter(might of been the owner) approached us to get our orders. Ordered the seafood soup and drunken noodles. Portions are small for the price of the dishes. Seafood soup was so salty, I could not finish it all. Barely got any seafood in the soup, mostly broth. Noodles were ok. Nothing great, really bland and the portion was small. Ambiance and service is a part they lack. The waiters, again might of been owners, were overwhelmed with 5 tables they were serving. She didn’t come over once to ask if everything was okay or if we enjoyed the food. This place is mediocre and needs a lot of improvement! Maybe having more waiters and improving the quality in their foods will help them.

I’m not a «foodie» by any means… and I’ve only tried a couple dishes here(yellow curry!), but it was consistently fantastic. I’ve been to many other Thai places in many cities for comparison, and the food here is right at the top of the heap! Don’t expect ANYTHING from the ambience or décor, however. It’s like they furnished the place from various local dumps & lumber yards… but it’s clean enough. Need to use the bathroom? Say hi to the cook/waiter as you squeeze past through the small kitchen. There’s usually only 1 person working here, so the service will be slow too… but trust me… the food is worth it, and solely accounts for my 4 stars ;-)

This Thai place wasn’t bad at all! When I first walked in this place it smelled kinda funky musky, I’m not sure if its from the spices but hey they make some good food here. I ordered their Crispy Chicken with basil and I was asked if I wanted it spicy? why of course! At first when I got my plate it didn’t seem like I got a good portion, even with the pouch of white rice. But hey this entrée tasted pretty good! the spices and basil blend with the marinated chicken went well. What fell short was that my crispy chicken wasn’t actually crispy and it got cold after awhile, but still what backed it up was the stir fry marinated sauce that didn’t go wrong. My wife had the better choice than I did which was the Green Curry Fried Rice. It’s a pile of green curry rice, and chicken topped with a scramble egg, and this was something different from any Thai place I’ve tried, it looked fancy! it was delicious! I’m definitely coming back for this one! The Green Curry Fried Rice can be my breakfast plate too. It’s a solid 3.5 stars for now but will see in the near future if it gets better and become a favorite on my list. Good service and decent prices here as well.
