Einstein Brothers Bagels

The service here is terrible! I waited 15 minutes after ordering my bagel. I finally asked where my order was and they said, oh it’s right here! It has been sitting on their counter and they forgot to call my order number. Other customers were waiting just as long and they had to hound the employees to get their pick up orders. Avoid this location if you have to be anywhere on time in the next half hour.

If you enjoy excellent bagels this should be your first and last stop. The staff is friendly and helpful.

This is a great lunch option when you want to feel healthier than regular fast food. I tried the turkey, bacon, and avocado sandwich with potato salad. The potato salad slurry was a horrible choice. The sandwich has a bland bright orange mayo. At least they’re trying.
There is an order station and a pay station. It’s confusing.

The ONLY reason this location this gets two stars is because the food is alright. The staff, however, is some of the rudest I’ve ever experienced at any food/​retail location. During my most recent (and likely to be last) visit, I stood at the counter for a good ten minutes, with no sort of acknowledgement whatsoever from the staff. After a good 5 minutes (with nobody in front of me, mind you), I clear my throat and say «Excuse me?» But still no acknowledgement, everyone just keeps on doing their own little thing behind the counter. I just ended up walking out. Again, the food isn’t bad, but the employees are something else.

I believe their slogan should be, «Come be treated rudely by our poorly trained staff». Food is fine. Staff leaves something to be desired.

Such poor service. The cashiers and counter help were so grumpy. I recognize it is early but really?! Not only was everyone crabby but they got my order wrong also! It’s just a bagel with schmear… really? Not a great place!

Worst location I’ve been to, the staff is pretty rude. It’s worth it to go the other locations that actual make effort. They just want the day to end and you can see it in the way they treat you.

I stop in at this location about once a week and am usually quite content. I always order a nova lox sandwich on a toasted everything bagel. However the last time concerned me. I ordered my usual and it was delivered promptly but looked a little light. I then noticed that there was no tomato. I asked the lady behind the counter if they were out of tomatoes. She stared at my bagel for an uncomfortably long time, gave a heavy sigh and took it back to fix. She then placed it back on the counter with tomatoes added. It still didn’t look quite right. So I ask, «Are you out of capers?». Again, a heavy sigh and amazing attitude. She then points at my bagel, pointing out the ONE caper that was on my bagel. Really. One caper? At least if there were none I could chalk it up to, you forgot. But to add one? You just don’t care. I left without her touching my bagel again and without her adding any more capers. I got to work and realized quickly that the salmon portion was a lot smaller than usual as well. This experience will not stop me from going back (unless someone can tell me another place to get a bagel with lox and cream cheese nearby), but if it’s a sign of a habit of poor customer service… I will have no choice but to move on.

The service at this location is terrible, and it’s gotten worse during the past year. A few people have already mentioned the weird set up where you order at one register and then pay at the next. Employees used to walk your order down to the end where you paid; now they’re throwing it on the counter in the middle of the line, making you have to backtrack and interrupt people to grab your order.
The woman who took my order this morning could not possibly have looked or acted less pleased to be there. There was no greeting other than, «What do you want?» They used to ask your name at the point of ordering to keep things running smoothly; instead, she just said, «You can go pay.» Alrighty then.
They have a «Now Hiring» sign out front. I hope that means they’re hiring a decent manager who can come in and fix this place.
I mean, the bagels are fine. But the terrible customer service doesn’t make me want to come in.

If I could give zero stars, I would. The service here is some of the worst I’ve ever experienced, and the only reason I go back time and again is because my boyfriend likes their bagels. I must be bad luck because every time I go in, there is a problem. Employees definitely need to go through training again. I order pretty simple every time. A caramel latte, and an egg and cheese omelette with egg whites on a plain bagel. Pretty easy right? WRONG. The iced caramel latte throws the beverage bonehead off every time. I’ve gotten caramel coffee, and even better, just a shot of caramel in an empty cup… I was like what is this? Not even ice in the cup… just a shot of caramel in a sad, lonely little cup.
Even better than that was when the cashier rang up my order wrong. He put no cheese on my order, and I told him I wanted cheese on it. He said, «yeah i know» and looked at me like I was the idiot. I said well thats not what you rang up, and he was like «It’s fine, I’ll put cheese on it». GUESS WHO FORGOT THE CHEESE? I was like dude you forgot the cheese. He threw a cold piece of cheese on top of my burnt bagel. It made me and my sandwich very sad.
Aside from that, they’ve overcharged my boyfriend and also completely botched his orders as well. If it was up to me, this location would have to pay me to go there. The employees are clueless, and have no idea what customer service is. I will be going to Egg Harbor down the road, and my boyfriend can come here if he wants because I can’t stand it any longer.

Man einstein’s bagels are great! Big fan of them Panera? Nah man. Einstein Bros! And joy of joys, there’s one right in my town!
Why the one star review? Because they are ALWAYS OUT OF BAGELS AT THIS LOCATION. Just got back from there, it is 9am on a Saturday (PRIME bagel time) and they didn’t even sesame bagels. Not one. Poppy? Also not one.
Pardon my language here, but what the frazzle? Those are such standard flavors! You gotta know you need them on a ding dang Saturday morning. And this is not an isolated incident here. Probably 4 of the last 7 times I tried to get some bagels here they were out of almost everything. Ridiculous. Unacceptable.
Dear shop owner: Look at your life, look at your choices. I want your bagels. I will give you money for them. HAVE SOME WHEN I COME IN NEXT TIME. Jk, I’m never coming back. But maybe have some bagels so the poor souls that walk in to your shop hoping for a bagel don’t have to feel the disappointment I did.

You would think a bagel shop would make their bagel sandwiches decently fast, but this shop is incredibly slow. I ordered 2 bagel sandwiches and it took well over 30 minutes. Once I got it and opened the bag, all the cheese and grease was all over everything. They couldn’t even manage to keep it in the individual bagel wrapper. Because they just slopped it on and left it sitting, it made my entire bottom bagel soggy and soft. I wouldn’t recommend this shop if you’re craving bagels/​sandwiches.

Awesome fresh made daily bagels. I’m a big fan of the turkey sandwich on an egg roll or whatever they call it. Very tasty.

I have been going to Einstein’s all over the area. This one undoubtedly has the worst service. The help is more or less unable to be efficient, let alone respectful of the customer. Over the last 5 times I have been here, the order has been either messed up or delayed unnecessarily each and every time. It’s almost comical. Missed order, wrong product, forgotten orders, every single time. I would give them a mistake here and there, but this is too consistent.
Who manages this location? Is there anyone in charge that makes sure things run smoothly?
Today, for example, I ordered a lox platter. They toasted the bagel and it sat there while 10 other groups passed me in line. I had to ask the cashier if they had forgotten my order and he said it would be right up. When it came up, there was hardly any cream cheese (needed to go BACK in line to get more), and it was cold. How does that happen?
Someone needs to look at this location and hire a strong manager. The food product is good, the help is nice, but they are not at all working as a team or in a way that shows respect to their customers. If they weren’t the only bagel place in town I would take my business elsewhere.

So I realized this place is just like Noah’s back home (San Fran). Clean & friendly but they didn’t ask me if I wanted to toast my bagel which I failed to remember to add.
The lox bagel was good enough, though. I just needed something to hold me over on my long train ride to Chicago.

Best bagel options, delicious cream cheese. I always take it to go because its always so packed. Try the thin bagels and low fat cream cheese – Great for people watching what they eat! Only thing is they never spread your cream cheese/don’t give you enough.

Einstein Brothers Bagels is a good place to come & eat healthy. The prices aren’t cheap but aren’t expensive. This a a good location & makes it convenient to run in & grab something to eat. This is not the best bagel food that I have had but it’s not bad at all.
This is a nice location in Lake Forest & is located right across from the train station. The place is always clean & the service was good & the staff was friendly. They are usually really busy & can sometimes run out of what you might be trying to order. They have pretty good Lox & Bagel sandwiches & the Chicken Salad is pretty good.
Overall I will come here again when I am in the area & am looking to eat something quick & healthy.

I go here several times a week and really dig it. The girls that work there all know me by name and say hello which is a rare thing these days to find in any customer service situation.
Sometimes on weekends between 830 and 1030, the place is slammed and people come in droves ordering «dozens» and the supply runs out pretty quick. During the week it’s usually 7 – 8 when the rush hits. Outside of those times it’s much easier to get what you want in a timely fashion.

Always clean but always busy. If you don’t get there early they will surely be out of your favorite bagels. For some reason they haven’t figured out or simply cannot keep up with demand.
Also, the line can be confusing. If they have what you want but you are not ordering a dozen, insist on getting the bagels in a bag right then. Otherwise, by the time you get to pay and pick up your order, they may be out which has happened to me more than once.
On the upside, it is right across from the train station. So my boys love getting a bagel and actually sitting to watch the trains arrive and leave.

Nothing out of the ordinary for an Einsteins.
They keep the place pretty clean.
The people are pretty nice =)
