Eagle Community Credit Union

We have to use shared branching as our bank is not in the area.
Eagle is closest to our new home and we have been very happy with them so far.
Plenty of easy parking and nice staff, no lines to wait in so far.
Clean location, descent hours, this will be our go to bank close to home from now on.

We had eagle credit union for quite some time and we’re very happy with the customer service when we opened our account. We had changed from Bank of America because we wanted a bank who knew us. However, my husband is a realtor and gets large, infrequent checks. We decided to close our account and relationship with eagle credit union when they said that they would have to hold our check for 14 days before releasing funds (this is after having a year relationship) We needed the money immediately, at least a portion of it and they would not help us figure out a solution. We went to Bank of America and they gave us a cashiers check. Eagle credit union would not accept a cashiers check for immediate use and said they would have to hold it for 14 days as well. This makes no sense. We closed our accounts and returned to Bank of America. We are disappointed that it did not work out. I would have never guessed that a large bank would have better customer service and value a relationship more than a credit union.

When I originally applied and opened my checking, savings, and cc accounts, nobody ever walked me through any of the benefits, features, rules, fees, etc… In fact, I never received a welcome or any official confirmation that my applications had been successfully processed until statements started coming in the mail. It turns out that the person who «helped» me was let go from the bank very shortly after my visit, and the teller’s best guess was that my file «never got passed on to anyone else.» I got online and figured the details out myself, but I definitely ran into a few confusing issues that I wouldn’t have if I had ever been informed of anything after the first day I walked in.
The service is consistently really bad. I can recall at least four different people who have shocked me with their behavior. Some are rude and others are just sloppy and unprofessional. One person forgot to complete a balance transfer for me, and I had to spend two weeks calling to get the issue cleared. Once, a manager was supposed to resolve a hold for me on a Friday. I never got a call back that day or the next and waited until the following Tuesday for my money. Another time I got a voice message from the bank that included a few extra minutes of chatting in the background, and someone mentioned having «a bunch of shit» in her work space. I don’t claim to have never used foul language at work, but I also try to remember to hang up my phone first.
I came to this credit union after being financially slaughtered by Chase when they took over Washington Mutual. I thought I’d get better service. My impression isn’t any better here. I think most financial institutions are equally comprised of lazy people who slowly rob you as they benefit from your membership via fees and investments…

The eagle community credit union in lake forest is aweful!!! I always feel like they have my money stuffed in a mattress in the back. The tellers never look or sound like they know what’s going on, and the lines on the weekend are always super long (expect a 45 min wait). Gotta be a better small bank in town than this dinky place.

I have been a member since 1998, and I can honestly say their customer service has gone down the drain the past couple of years. They have lost touch with building relationships with their members. I feel as if their lack of rapport and lack of customer service align with the BIG banks out there.
Another thing to beware
of…if you bank with them and move outside of OC, close your account immediately. Share Branching is hit or miss, as their communication network is always down. ATM deposits are placed on a 3 day hold, minimum. Mobile Banking: deposits are returned for endorsement issues that they keep changing without informing members. Considering the inconveniences imposed on members out of the area and the horrible customer service, I will be closing my account!

These guys are fantastic… I’ve been with them now for quite a few years, and they really go the extra mile to super serve their customers. Again and again, they have really helped

If I could put zero stars I would! The worst customer service I’ve ever received! I will be closing my account in the near future!

I always have experiences when I come to this credit union… and I am not even a member.
My credit union doesn’t have locations in Orange County, Eagle Community Credit Union takes deposits for my credit union (for FREE!).
The location is a little tucked away from the main streets, but it is easy to find.
I am seriously considering joining this credit union because they are so nice.

I’ve been using this credit union for over 10 years and I will never bank anywhere else. The employees are incredibly nice and helpful. Thank you, Eagle CU for a decade of superb service!

I bank with a credit union up north but I can do my banking business with any credit union that is within the co-​op network — such as this one.
I went to go deposit a check at another credit union — that only has a co-​op ATM — and it got declined. They couldn’t help me inside so I had to hunt for another one and voila! This is actually closer to work with two ATMs and a drive up ATM.
The check still didn’t work at the ATM for some reason so I had to go inside and have it processed. I can’t remember the last time I’ve walked into a bank but they were able to help me out, get my issue resolved and deposit the check into my account.
Overall, very friendly from the get go, service was quick, and I was on my way back home.

I have previously loved this credit union. They have good customer service, but some recent decisions have been disappointing. Here is the letter I wrote to the CEO, which summarizes why I am writing this now.
I would like to know why the credit union switched from visa to MasterCard. Specifically why eagle switched to the rewards program instead of the .05% cash back when using debit as credit. We all know the companies make a nice little profit when we charge credit instead of debit. .05% was just a tiny piece of that, and it was actually one of the reasons we joined this credit union. Now you switched to a rewards program where you have to spend like $ 15 000 to get a can opener or some piece of junk or some other thing you would never normally buy. Not only that, but you allow your members to use money to purchase rewards points. What can they buy with those reward points? An item that if purchased with cash, would cost significantly less than is being «charged» with the rewards points (e.g., I calculated that if you purchased the can opener with cash-​bought rewards points, it would cost you $ 123.). The fact that you allow members to purchase rewards points and then charge them exorbitant «prices» for the items bothers me significantly more than just switching to the rewards points alone. You are supposed to be concerned with the financial well– being of the members of the credit union, and this option suggest that you are not! I am VERY disappointed in this move!

There’s always a long line when I show up. I always notice only 1 teller there. They should hire more help.

I really love banking with Eagle CU. They are not for profit (so I don’t charged a monthly fee, get offered a credit card, or asked how I’m building my credit every time I go in and bank with them like I did when with B of A and Wells Fargo). The staff is very friendly and I’ve never had to wait longer than 2 – 3 minutes to be helped. Also I love that they have my picture on file, because I can go in there and bank with nothing. No ID, no bank card, nothing! I love it… just makes things easy.

I’ve been an Eagle member for at least 10 years now, long enough that I can’t even remember. They have been such a great institution that even though I have moved to the Vegas area, I have continued to use them as my primary financial institution.
First, they’ve never instituted a checking account fee.
I’ve had one transaction held up before in all of my time here, my ATM card declined at a restaurant for unknown reasons which they subsequently apologized for the next day.
The online banking works very well. I have had few issues accessing and using it. There is even a mobile app both for iphone and android phones which I haven’t had any issues with.
With the Co-​op ATM network and Shared Branch network of credit unions, I have had no problems banking in Nevada despite not having a brick and mortar Eagle branch here.
Best of all, I am able to contact the CEO, Bill Birnie when I have issues. In the latest run, he helped me all throughout the process of getting a new ATM card. I had my card eaten at a machine in Henderson which I brought to his attention. We had a several email conversation on how these machines should have a countdown screen before eating a card. When my card didn’t arrive as expected, he personally made sure one was rushed to me and had me let him know when everything was working again.
I have banked at Theft of America, traded with several online brokers, and have a couple of credit cards. I can only say American Express delivers this kind of service, but I definitely would not be able to contact their CEO about my issues. I will probably keep my account at Eagle till forever.

Never ever will use any sorts of credit unions. I have lost money. Account closed, lesson learned. They charge ridiculous dormancy fees and maintenance fees, so if you don’t keep an eye on them, you just loose your money. Just don’t get the reason why even to use them. I have used them long time ago to get my very first car loan, and since then, I have only been disappointed. Nothing is clear, no options to manage an account on-​line, and so on. Don’t know about everybody else, but no more credit unions for me, for sure.

I have been an Eagle CU customer for 10+ years. They often go out of their way to help me out. Lynne has been especially helpful lately helping me save money.

I applied for a large loan yesterday and funded today. I wouldn’t have been able to get such a loan at a bank at such a GREAT RATE! My loan officer was more than helpful to take care of my request over the phone, provide approval status and give me full terms. She made this experience so easy I couldn’t help but jump to Unilocal and let you know. I recommend ECCU to all individuals who live or work in their field of membership. Credit Unions are your best choice for ALL financial needs. Dump your bank and check out a credit union. They are NOT FOR PROFIT and MEMBER OWNED!

I have been banking here for years, and despite my really bad financial habits, this place is a great credit union. Their car loans are really great from what I hear from other people. When I was buying my Ipod at the Apple store, the sales associate noticed my debit card and asked if I banked at Eagle CU and I said yes. He lauded the bank’s car loan. From personal experience, when you get an overdraft fee, they only charge you a one time fee of $ 30, unlike other banks that compound those fees until you pay off a debt. For a personal loan you will need I believe 3 lines of credit as well as the other usual information. There is this one teller that I go to always named Virginia, she’s the sweetest thing and it happens that I always get her and she’s really understanding. This branch is the corporate office also, so I suppose it’s good. They have safes and such for valuables to be kept in. The only qualm I have is this bitchy looking girl that works there. She just has this air of superficial eliteness about her. Avoid her as you wait in line. If she calls you up to her window, let the old lady behind you move ahead as you feign to forget a detail on your check.
