DK Painting

I have used people to do work on my houses for decades. I have never written a bad review. I often go to restaurants and never write anything negative even if it is a bad experience. But this time I can not ignore the situation. This is the worst company I have ever used and I am 68 years old. They missed 4 appointments each with an excuse. All I hired them for was to texture and paint a closet. It was a small deal. Jose sent an employee. The employee, Fredrico, did a horrid job. He did not even finish as he neglected to do the ceiling of the closet and also where the closet connected to the wall. He got the texture on the walls which caused me to have to bring in a painter to redo those areas. He got the texture on my furniture as he covered nothing. When my wife confronted Fredrico he told her to wash the walls and it would come out. He would not do it himself. BTW, we tried to wash it but it did not come out and I had to hire someone to repaint my walls. I asked numerous times to get the job finished. Finally Jose said he was not able to send a helper for such a small job so he missed appointments. This brings up two points. If it was not big enough, why did he take it? The other point is that if indeed that was the reason he kept missing appointments then the other reasons he previously gave were lies. The problem with lying is you have to remember what you said or you will get caught in your lies. Finally, after threatening that I would go to small claims court he said he would put a check in the mail for half the job as a refund. I said ok even though now I have to pay someone else to do the work. Well, as expected, it is almost two weeks and no check arrived. So, the work was shoddy, messy, caused me more costly work. Also I was lied to. Now I have to take the time to go to small claims court to sue Jose and DK painting for the work he never completed. This is my first negative complaint about anyone or any company. But there are lots of painters out there who are ethical, reliable, and do excellent work.
