I have only eaten here twice. I was super excited about a new peruvian spot opening up as my goto spot is under HEAVY construction and its make it pain to go and feast there. This is a small family run peruvian spot. Everything I had so far was wonderful. I would give it higher ratings but I have not tasted my way around their menu enough to give enough of a review that it would have a valuable outcome to someone deciding on to try this place or not. I will return a few more time and update my review once I have tested more of the menu.

This is in response from to Anthony S. Review of 1 star . I’ve been coming to this restaurant since I found out about it over 2 years ago. This is ridiculous. At was present at the time this couple was there. It seemed that they were in a rush and if you want good and fresh food you wait. Go to a fast food place if you are in a rush and want pre-made food. Each dish it’s made individually every time I’ve been there. So, yes. You do have to wait sometimes !! I was advised that there was a wait on food due to a to go order and this couples food. and didn’t mind the wait. Because I love the food !!! This couple ate 4 breads and some soups. I heard the cook saying it’s ready and they were not willing to wait, they were told it would take 35 minutes and it took 40 minutes. Funny. They tried to pay and they didn’t. The owner apologized for the delay. If that was me as an honest person I grab the menu to see how much they owe for what they and leave the money on the table I was watching that game ! Turn off your own TV at home. Don’t ruin a nice dinner for others if you are the bitter one Obviously, they have nothing better to do they write a diary on Unilocal! I’m taking the time to write this since I completely disagree. Delicias Peruanas… You don’t need customers like this! They can go to Taco Bell, probably what they are used to eating

Located in a strip mall in a little out of the way place. The place probably sits about 8 groups of people but I think it’s worth the wait if there is one. We didn’t have a wait, we got there and were seated immediately. There’s quite a variety of food. I got the steak. My friend, he got the fried fish. This place had an authentic taste and feel to it. If come here before going to Inca Mamas again for sure.

Authentic Hole In the Way Peruvian food. Bistek a la Pobre and Churrasca a la Parilla were both excelente! We enjoyed both dishes very much. Everything was fresh, hot, and well-prepared. Inka Mamas is still my favorite Peruvian restaurant but if you’re looking for something more casual, then this place is for you.

Had the lomo and pollo saltado. Best I’ve had in a long time. Green sauce was also delicious and the owners were very attentive with service. Will definitely be back to try the rest of the menu!

Not a huge fan of mediterranean food and never had Peruvian food before. But this place was good!!! I had no expectations. The Mexican place closeby was too packed to accommodate our party of 6; our original planned lunch place. So we took a detour to the this place nearby. My boss told me she enjoyed this place so we gave it a try. And now? I will try to come to this place more often! Meat was juicy and flavorful. Staff was nice and pleseant. And the price was what it was worth! They have a delicious treat here too! Don’t know what the name is but it literally melts in your mouth. Something to do with caramel? I normally hate caramel due to its sweetness, but the little treat they have here? I pop them in my mouth like candy! Anyways, try this place!!! It gets packed during lunch so try to miss the crowd!

We were in Irvine and my cousin had this place bookmarked, so instead up driving up to Inka Mama’s in Costa Mesa(one of my favorites for Peruvian), we headed down to Delicias. We were given one bread roll each with one little cup of the aji sauce. The bread was hot and delicious, but the aji was lacking something. It had a slight kick to it, but it wasn’t as addictive as others I’ve had. Plus, they’re pretty stingy with the amount they give you(additional rolls are $ 0.35 each). I guess they’re afraid of patrons like me who can eat ten of those rolls in one sitting without batting an eye. We started with the Ceviche Mixto, which was very citrusy and refreshing. The wife ordered the Lomo Saltado, and I got the Suprema de Pollo. The beef in my wife’s dish was very tough and overcooked, and the fries were hard and not very good. Overall, the flavors just weren’t there with this dish as there usually is at other Peruvian restaurants. I enjoyed my dish more. The chicken was tender and the batter was perfectly crispy. It wasn’t bursting with flavors, but it had just enough to enjoy it. I have to agree with others on here about this place being good for South OC. You’ll find much better places in LA and a little farther up north in OC at Inka Mama’s and Mario’s.

This is in every sense of the concept a «Mom and Pop» operation. The restaurant can fit approximately 24 or so folks. I ordered the cebiche de pescado(fish cebiche) Peruvian spicy. It was very good, but very spicy(spicier than Mexican spicy) — like licking a supernova. I also ordered the anticuchos(skewered bbq beef hearts). My complaint: two skewers is not enough! I could eat them as a main dish. My main dish was the peruvian spiced bbq chicken(pollo a la. parilla). This was also very good. The restaurant does not have alcohol to put out the flames– order Inka Cola for that. Authentic Peruvian.

Love, love, love this family owned and operated made to order restaurant. We had our baby shower here. The experience was so warm and perfect. Equally as great — the food! Best Peruvian in OC. We eat here all the time.

Loved this place, very good Peruvian food. We had the marinated beef hearts, plantains, and the deep fried calamari/fish/shrimp dish that I can’t recall the name to. Definitely coming back for Round 2 next month.

Came here with some coworkers for a quick lunch and to catch up. The food: — Green sauce — is spicier here than the other local Peruvian joints. It’s also less creamy. I still enjoyed it very much, I just wish they didn’t give you such a small bowl to share. I love to drink this stuff, so a squirt bottle would’ve been appreciated =P — Lomo Saltado — the meat here is more tender than other places for the same dish, but the fries in this one were a bit soggier and the dish overall was a bit less flavorful. I still enjoyed it though. I ate half and brought the rest home for a small dinner. — Pescado al ajo — my favorite dish of this restaurant. It’s pan fried fish with a lot of fried garlic on top with some lemon butter sauce. My friend ordered this and I totally regretted not getting it myself. This place has good food at a very reasonable price and great portions. It’s easily a few dollars cheaper than the other Peruvian places in South OC. The food is such a good value for how much you’re getting and quality wise.

Delicious Peruvian food! Came here with a few friends and we ordered: Lomo Saltado Tallarin Saltado de Mariscos Seafood Paella All were absolutely delicious. My favorite is probably the Tallarin Saltado de Mariscos(seafood spaghetti) — the flavor was just really tasty. I wasn’t expecting this to be super tasty, but it was. The Seafood Paella was tasty as well — and not very oily as some places make it. We also ordered the Chicharron de Pollo — I thought this one was ok. I expected more, but it was a little dry, which kept me from going for another piece. The portions here are huge. You could easily share 1 meal. I will definitely be coming back for more!

The best Peruvian food in Orange county. Lomo saltado, mariscos, chaufa, and the green sauce is awesome. I just wish it was right in Irvine. I will be back here soon. My favorite are any of the spaghetti dishes!

Being Peruvian and having been raised on this food I find myself wanting to get some into me as often as possible. We moved out to Lake Forest a year ago and the first thing we did was look for nearby Peruvian food restaurants. We have tried all of the ones out here but we had not made it to Delicias Peruanas yet. The crazy thing is that this is the closest place to our home. Walking in you immediately see that this place is very small but very cozy. A handful of tables and a small counter… kitchen in the back. This is a family run business with mom and son out front and dad in the back creating the magical meals. I tried the Lomo Saltado and I have to tell you… this is one of the best tasting Lomos I have ever had. The beef was flavorful and very tender. There were onions and seasoned fries to compliment the dish but they were in perfect proportion so you did not end up with tons of onions and fries and very little meat which many other places tend to do with this dish. Portion size is generous and perfect if you are hungry. My one son ordered the Tallarin Saltado de Pollo. He claimed it was one of the best he has ever tried at any of the places we have visited. My other son had the Milanesa de Carne. He says the meat was tender and cooked perfectly. Both of them came out smiling so that is always a good sign. My wife had the same as me and she says that she was pleased with her choice as well. Overall I will say this place is a hit. Many others have mentioned that this place is great. I agree 100% and we will be making Delicias Peruanas a regular stop when that Peruvian food fix kicks in.

Looking for Peruvian in South County? Delicias Peruanas has it all… delicious food and friendly service all reasonably priced in South County. Lomo Saltado — Full of skirt steak beef tossed with fries and rice. The meat was tender and the tossed fries, tomatoes and red onions were smothered with that great saltado sauce. I put fried egg on it because that’s what I do. Would definitely order this again. Seafood Saltado — This was similar to the Lomo but instead had equal portions of shrimp and calamari to match the fries. Bread — Complimentary, served warm. Aji Sauce — I loved their aji sauce, it had spicier kick(that’s a good thing) than some other places I’ve tried in Orange County. Good thickness, not watered down. Portion sizes here are huge. If you’re hungry, your main dish will be enough to fill you up. If you are just average hungry, you’ll have leftovers to take home. I want to come back and try some of their other dishes! They also sell Alfajores, Peruvian cookes that are soft, circular shortbread cookies that wedge in dulce de leche. Sold in boxes of 10. It’s a cozy place in small strip mall and it’s sort of hidden in back. If you see Avila’s El Ranchito then you’re in the right plaza. Time to get your Cuzco on!

I came here hoping for a quick service Peruvian meal that I’m used to, but it’s restaurant style. Not recommended for quick lunch. I read some tips right before writing this review to «ask for lunch specials». They should tell us the specials rather than us ask, especially if it’s someone’s first time there. Note: there is no lunch section on their menu. Our food took about 35 minutes to cook, and we had 3 entrees. Ended up getting it to go because of a time constraint. Thankfully, the people working were very nice about getting our orders to go last minute. Not exactly what I was expecting, but still good. I ordered the Pollo A Lo Parrilla — marinated, broiled chicken. Very tasty! Came with a small salad, yuca fries(2 pieces) and rice, but I subbed the rice for more salad. Upon opening my to-go order, I had 2 boxes — one with a large chicken breast with yuca fries and the other of a huge portion of salad with balsamic dressing! I was surprised to see such a large salad, but very happy to see it(:

Their chimichurri sauce is strong enough to slay vampires. I love it. I got their churrasco a la parilla medium rare and they cooked it perfectly. At some restaurants you ask for medium rare and you get medium, but here, you get what you ask for. I think all their dishes come with a salad with tomato slices and a rice pyramid. Unfortunately, the rice isn’t flavored but the juice from your meat can help with that. With my dish I got two huge potato wedges. Perfectly seasoned with a slight crisp before the soft insides. The bf got lomo saltado like at every Peruvian place we ever go to. I only got his onions but, I liked the flavor. Not too salty, not bland. This place is obviously family owned and very organized, the mom and son work the register and the tables while the dad, I think, is in the back. They’re very good with serving you fast without hesitation. Warning though, if you get the churrasco a la parilla, inca cola won’t be the best choice for you, your tongue will sting from the garlic and the fizz.
