I had two wheelsets built here for my girlfriend and myself. Juan had no issue with us bringing in our own rims, hubs, and nips(where we got attitude from inquiries with other wheelbuilders for doing so). We ordered our spokes through him and he quoted us a very fair price. The wheels came out fantastic. I inquired with all of the reputed OC wheelbuilders for these wheelsets and do not regret a single thing going with Juan and I highly recommend Cyclepro as a shop.

I worked with the owner Juan a million years ago when I worked part time at a Schwinn shop in Santa Ana, he was the«star» mechanic then — we’re talking the late 80’s. We lost touch until recently and come to find out he has his own shop, CyclePro, and came highly recommended by a mutual riding buddy. I remembered how great he was with repairs(back then) and decided to go visit him to help me with an aging relic Specialized mtn bike. My regular mechanics run from me when I show up because this beast is so old and outdated, there’s just not much they can do(discontinued parts is a big problem). So, I was about to throw in the towel on this bike but decided to let Juan take a final crack at it.(gears and chain chatter up and down the freewheel), it’s nearly impossible to ride when it acts this way. Well, I picked up my bike the next day(not a week, but the next day) and I have to say, HEFIGUREDITOUT. I can’t tell you how happy I am, I can ride again without the gears acting all haywire. I have invested hundreds of dollars over the last 2 yrs trying to figure this out and Juan fixed me up and only charged me $ 20. This guy is literally the best mechanic I’ve ever worked with or used and I’ve known him for a very long time! He’s honest and loves his craft, please support this small shop, I know I will and have no problem driving up from Dana Point.

I had my bike packaged at this place, worst decision ever. Thank God I had opened the box was rattling a lot bit before it was ready to be shipped because they did not include my di2 charger inside the box. The box was so poorly packaged that fed ex refused to let me pay for protection. The seat post/saddle/pedals were wrapped up in some newspaper and were left at the bottom of the shipping box. There was nothing to hold the pieces down. I actually went home and repackaged everything myself with air packages and styrofoam. I called in complaining about the half-ass job and about them«forgetting to include» my charger(which was clearly placed the the area of my bike and extras) and they said they would refund me my initial price of 50 $. Got to the shop and they said to give him back his bike box and pushed me away as if I did something wrong. I understand I was at wrong to call in angrily but I had every right to because my trek madone 6.9 loaded with di29000 $ bike would have been destroyed during shipping. They are extremely unprofessional and I hope to God that they change their attitude. I used them a two times before, and this is the first issue. 33% odds that are not good odds to me. Oh and he charged me 15 $ for a skewer that he said he would throw in if he found one.

I took my Trek road bike in for a much needed tune-up. Juan quickly inspected the bike and advised me of all the work that needed to be done. He quoted me their standard price and told me it would be ready in 3 days. I got a call on the second day letting me know that the bike was ready. WOW! I didnt even recognize my bike. They had completely cleaned it, degreased it, adjusted pretty much everything. They even fixed my bar tape and my computer. I would definitely recommend Juan and his crew at Cyclepro for anything bike related. Stop by and browse the store too. I can’t wait to ride my «new» bike!

Not often are you able to get a real bicycle mechanic. There are a lot of people who can tighten a bolt, but NOONE can build wheels like Juan, nor take five minutes and tell you what your bike really needs. Most of us just drop off the bike, saying it doesn’t shift as I would like, fix whatever needs to be done, and he goes through everything and makes it wonderful. He is the bicycle MAN.

Great service from Juan and Art. Came in to discuss new wheels and Art was a wealth of info. Rode my bike in a few days later to buy the wheels we’d discussed, and Juan fixed me up right away, I rode out 45 minutes later on new wheels, and Juan gave my bike a good cleaning and tune up as well. A pleasure to do business with them.

It’s a joy when you can recommend a small business that goes out of its way to help its customers. Such is true of CyclePro, an outstanding bicycle shop in Lake Forest. There are bigger, more glossy bike shops in the area. But many knowledgeable and hard-core cyclists swear by CyclePro, and I have become a fan too. If you are looking for big store with big name Italian bikes, you probably won’t see them here, not that they can’t order and build one for you. What you will see, if you look closely, is a collection of great Scott, Aragon, Masi and Jamis framesets and bikes, and a mix of some classic steel bikes, including a few actually ridden by some Tour de France greats. When you look closely, you can tell this is a store for the serious cyclist. The jewel of the store however are the three men who run the shop: Juan, Alexi and Arturo. They REALLY know their stuff. If you need wheels built the right way, you just found the best place in Orange County for this. They don’t overcharge, don’t give you attitude and are very friendly. And they’re generous. Today, I stopped by after a part came off my rear hub. I expected to have to drop off my bike, but after looking around, they found exactly the part I needed and simply replaced it for me — for FREE. No questions asked. A small business has a tough time in this world, and yet, Juan didn’t blink at doing this for free. That speaks volumes of the people they are. And it’s but one of many reasons why I will continue to bring my business to CyclePro. Verdict: Two thumbs up. Highly recommended.

Juan is great! He is up front about costs, calls to verify that it is ok to proceed with work when an issue is found. I took my bike in for the first time in July. Ever since then I’ve been referring Them everyday since. Thanks you guys for the pleasant experience!

No one touches my racing bike except these consummate perfectionist professional extraordinaires. Let me rephrase that, no one does a better maintenance job on my bike than Juan and Arturo. They the very best mechanics in the cycling universe, and they live on Vietnamese chicken sandwiches with extra jalapeño.

Juan combines years of experience with friendly customer service. The guys at Cycle Pro are helpful, courteous and most importantly know what they are doing. My search for a reliable bike shop is over.
