City of Lake Forest

This city is great. They have been hosting special needs dances which are awesome. We cannot thank the city enough for hosting the special needs dances. They provide food and music at no cost for the special needs community. Thank you!!!

Horrible experience with the City of Lake Forest Police Department.
We (my husband and me) were fined a parking fee $ 125 for a 5-​min parking at the Lake Forest Beach Park (the parking was only for the residents). We just wanted to take a look at the marvelous view on the Lake Michigan. The parking signs were completely misleading — the information about the parking was in unreadable tiny green Italic shift above NO ALCOHOL and NO SMOKING big red letters.
The hearing was a top of humiliation and disrespect. We made pictures of this parking sigh in a naïve hope to show that the judge our evidence and escape this ridiculous parking fee. But the judge and accompanying policemen LIED UNDER THE OATH claiming there was another sing there. Right after the hearing we went to the site — there was NO such sign there…
We wrote to the mayor James J. Cowhey and the city attorney Ken Smith about this incident, but NEVER heard back from them.
I guess it is okay for the city to rip off its guests and okay for the hearing judge to lie.
And this park is ONLY for the residents — the non-​residents cannot park anywhere!
THIS PLACE STINKS — STAY AWAY!!!
