SNOWCRABLEGSREVIEWONLY. I eat here specifically for the crab legs! Every so often I get this craving for snow crabs and I believe you get the best bang for your buck on these at casino buffets. I’ve been here quite a few times and I can say that they are a hit or miss. On Sunday, 1÷17÷16 they were a definite hit! Cooked perfectly and easy to peel. There were a few times I went and they were so difficult to peel. Normally, this buffet would be around $ 22 per person for a Sunday brunch/lunch. If you’ve played at the casino or get offers in the mail from their rewards card, then you could possibly get your meal comped. If you’re here for a weekend dinner, I do recommend trying the king crabs too!

Three plus stars for this buffett. I’ve visited often enough to have tried both breakfast, lunch & dinner and also on both weekends and weekdays. There is simply too much inconsistency to rate the experiences any higher overall. The breakfast buffet is always well worth it, the other meals … not so much. Breakfast has both an egg station and a pancake section where your food is well prepared to order along with well cooked breakfast meats. I’ve gotten excellent omelettes, pancakes, french toast and just plain eggs at the cook to order stations. Lunch and dinner has some really good items as well, they simply underwhelm on some of the seafood items you expect to be good in Louisiana. The weekends are certainly better than the weekdays as you might expect. If you play regularly at L’Auberge the meals are fairly easy to be comped by the casino on your player card. If you are not a player … breakfast is priced okay but the other meals are rather expensive for the quality you get. I can’t end the review without mentioning the staff. Out of all the trips there, the staff has always been both friendly and professional. I’ll be back.

Service was outstanding! Server saw my wife struggling with the King crab got a pair of gloves and showed her how to get the most meat out. Seafood was fresh and well prepped. Would have given 5 stars had they not put cold food out close to closing and started pulling desserts as soon as the clock struck 9.

I used to think this buffet was overpriced and underwhelming. Now that the Golden Nugget is here, I dont think so, I know so… Its unfortunate, as I very much prefer the gaming in L’Auberge to that of the Golden Nugget. Unfortunately Golden Nugget blows it out of the water when it comes to dinning selections, and the buffets in particular. L’Auberge needs to step it up. The selection is lacking, and the quality is just mediocre. The only thing keeping Le Beaucoup at 3 stars, would be the seafood selection. They have had a decent selection of crab the few times i’ve been, which is how they justify the price. It was about $ 60 for two people. I’ve had much better casino buffets in the $ 20/pp range. Step it up L’Auberge!

Before you go to Lake Charles’s most famous buffet, ask yourself these questions in the following order: 1) Are you willing to wait at least 30 minutes to more than an hour to be seated? 2) Do you REALLY like seafood, particularly crab legs? 3) Do you have a big appetite? If you answer yes to all, you will enjoy this buffet. Otherwise, this may not worth your time and money. Like any casino buffet, the wait can be long. However, the long wait isn’t because the house is full. In fact, after an hour of waiting, I discovered a somewhat empty dining room and realized that the wait was only due to the cashiers bottlenecking the flow. Great start, guys… Commonly known as «L’auberge’s buffet», this buffet’s highlight is its unlimited Cajun boiled seafood with southern king crab legs as its star(Available only on select nights of the week) along with snow crabs, blue crabs, and other shellfishes. Many seafood choices are also available in the cold bar, so this is a seafood paradise. Unfortunately, the other sections are extremely lackluster: the fried food was basically fried batter, the meat craving looked unappealing, and the Asian food was even worse than an average Chinese take-out. That means if you want to get the most out of this buffet, seafood is the way to go so like I said, you have to like seafood to fully enjoy this buffet. The dessert section is pretty dope though. However, at the price of $ 30 per person, you may want to consider buying seafood at a much cheaper price at local seafood stores if you do not eat a lot. I personally enjoy this buffet somewhat because I have a huge appetite for seafood, but if I wasn’t so fond of seafood, I don’t think this would be a trip worth taking if you aren’t already in the casino. Also, don’t go during lunchtime. The selection is actually worse than your average Chinese buffet! — tl;dr version: 1) Excellent seafood roster but disappointing in other categories 2) May not be a good choice if you are not super into crabs

If you aren’t here for just the seafood, you aren’t going to have a great time. I stood in line for Le Beaucoup for nearly 1.5 hours, and had starved myself in preparation for the all you can eat buffet. I was expecting something to compete with The Bacchanal, or The Buffet at the Wynn. Okay hold up. If you are expecting the buffet to compare to its Vegas forefathers, you need to completely forget Vegas exists. The Buffet, like most other aspects of the resorts at Lake Charles, are only shadows of what you can get in Las Vegas. The selection at Le Beaucoup is pretty limited. Yes, there is plenty of seafood(including unlimited crab legs, oysters, and such). If you look past the seafood, there isn’t much. Le Beaucoup, located in a French themed resort, forgets to serve French food. Actually, it forgets to serve most world cuisines. The«Asian» station is worse than your average chinese take-out, and the«American» and«Louisiana» stations aren’t anything to write home about. The deserts are forgettable, and the prime rib and other meat cuts are extremely dry. If all you want is crab legs, then by all means, stand in line.

To enjoy this place, you’ll need to LOVE seafood. The other food was ok. Nothing to rave over. Stood in line for about 30 minutes. The only thing I enjoyed was the dessert area. Nothing really for the kids. The variety of food was little to none. It has all these different types, but only like 4 – 5 dishes per area. My son said he still prefers Golden Corral over this buffet. My order of drinks were all wrong. Got a Dr. Pepper which was not ordered in the first place, got water instead of sprite. The waitress was not attentive to us like her other tables. Overall with the price of $ 90, we expected more, but got less than that. I wouldn’t go again unless it was free.

Located in L’auberge Casino and Resort, I came here for dinner with my boyfriend and his cousin’s family. The first star taken off is because the lines are extremely long caused by the slow hosts/cashiers. There was definitely empty tables, but it seems like they took their time in getting people seated. We were in the VIP line(thanks to my boyfriend’s uncle), but it seems like the regular line were flowing more quickly. Once we finally got seated after an hour and a half wait in line, the waiter brought out our drinks and buckets for the crab/oyster shells. Food wise, other than the unlimited crab and oysters, it was like your average buffet. The dessert table definitely had it’s perks, but most of the items were definitely too sweet for my taste. For $ 29.99 per person, it was definitely not worth it. The only time I’ll probably eat here, is if we are comped for it.

Standing in line since 7:30pm…didn’t get to the front of the line until 9pm… It really crab heaven… there was always fresh crab legs coming out. It looked like a big buffet, but I didn’t think there was that much variety in each section. The Asian section consisted of General Tso’s chicken, shaken beef, fried rice, egg rolls, crab puffs, and phở. American section consisted of fried chicken, mashed potatoes, and prime rib. Tex-Mex…I have no idea… nothing interested me in that area. Then of course there were different kinds of crab, oysters, a couple of different soups and gumbo. Then of course a whole line of different desserts. Crab was good but it was too much work for me. I mainly enjoyed the oysters. Asian foods were pretty spicy for some reason. Desserts… eh…nothing stood out… I just took a couple of bites out of each thing. I wish they had a section for some sushi… I think that would be awesome… $ 30…can’t complain if you’re there for the crab.

The crawfish, potatoes, and corn was seasoned to perfection. I tried the barbecue rib and loved them.

Came here for mother’s day lunch since we were already in the casino. Let me start off by saying that we had to wait in line for about 30 – 40 minutes which I think was meh, sorta kinda reasonable. I actually expected the wait since it was mother’s day, so I waited in line while my mom was playing penny slots in the casino. So, the price is 25 bucks for a buffet that consists of Asian, Tex-Mex, American, seafood and Cajun food. They also have a salad bar, pasta bar, and a bunch of desserts. For me the star of the show were the snow crabs, king crabs, and crawfish. The crabs were all well seasoned and didn’t taste or feel old which is a good sign in a buffet. I probably ate 10 lbs of those things(lol), and lets be real, if it was at a regular seafood joint you would pay more than 20 bucks for that much crab. The place was clean considering it was crowded. The service was also great, and I got warms towels three times without me asking for it and my glass was never empty. As one reviewer said, you can’t really compare this buffet to the better buffets in Vegas since this is Lake Charles, but I think it’s worth visiting. I did not have a single thing here that I did not finish. So if you’re celebrating a big win at the casino, or just lost big and trying to eat your sorrows away check this place out!

My first time trying this buffet in about 10 years. Very nice food! Especially liked the salad selections. Tried a seaweed salad that I was skeptical of, but wow, great taste! The crab salad and a green bean, mushroom, and tomato salad were great as well. Finished off with delicious fried shrimp, some spicy veggies, and dessert. Although not the largest buffet I’ve ever seen, they served good food at a reasonable price. Staff were courteous and efficient as well.

This was my first real experience at a Cajun buffet. Very fun and unique. I have to give a huge thumbs up to our server Cornelius. He was a rockstar and made our experience rock. We all loved the meal but will remember Cornelius Bc he was so patient and great!

Crab heaven delight! Crabs should run and hide. I unfortunately only got to sample the crab station as I filled up so quickly! There was king Alaskan and snow crab. Lots of mug bugs as well. The crab was so good. We had very good service, our waitress brought us little hand towels and cleaned up our shellfish mess. Bathrooms are outside the restaurant. It smells like gardenia heaven and the bathrooms were so clean. It was a trek to walk to the bathroom to wash your hands after cracking the shellfish so the handiwipes were excellent idea. Crème brûlée and pecan pie tarts happily entered my stomach for dessert. I was a satisfied customer!

This buffet is a absolutely staple in my frequent trips to L’Auberge! It has different choices for food such as asian, mexican, seafood, pasta bar, and fish bar. I absolutely love the king crab legs! Although there are different themes for almost every night, I love going just to eat the king crab legs. They are always steamed and fresh! Everything there is high quality The only bad thing is the last two times my family and I have gone, the waiters /waitresses seem to have a mix up on what tables they serve. Of course when we told them they apologized profusely for their mistakes and served us really well for the rest of the night. I always forget to save room for the dessert bar, but always still manage to squeeze in a cookie and crème brûlée! This buffet is so great and I highly recommend eating here. The price is great considering the amount and quality of food you get!

While this buffet does not offer a wide array of food options, I was quite impressed with the few things that I tried. The snow crab legs were so very well seasoned and the brisket was perfectly cooked. I also really enjoyed the crab mac n cheese. I find it odd that there are probably as many dessert options as there are food choices, but I’m a fan of sweets so I won’t complain about that. I enjoyed the crème brulee and the pineapple with panna cotta and the tiramisu. This was my third visit, so I was surprised when the waitress did not show up with the bucket and utensils for the snow crabs or our drinks until we were already halfway through our plate of food. She was more attentive toward the end of the meal, but we had ordered our drinks 10 – 15 minutes before she finally showed up with them. As a side note, we got there just before 4 pm, but by the time we left, closer to 5:15 or 5:30, there was a very long line waiting. My advise is to get there early unless you don’t mind waiting.

As far as buffets go, this place is not that great. Especially if your standard for casino buffets is Las Vegas. But when you’re here, you’re not in Vegas. you’re just pass the Texas/Louisiana border and practically in the middle of nowhere. And so this is probably the best buffet within a 60 mile radius. There are a variety of food«stations» from cajun to Asian food. There are about four stations plus a dessert station. The food is fine. Not spectactular, but not bad either. Again, you’re in a casino, so it’s fine. The service is nice and seating is ample. There are a few other dining choices in the casino, but you probably get the most bang for your buck here if you’re looking for a sit-down dining experience.

My favorite buffet. This is what I look forward to when I visit Lake Charles. Whether I’m staying at the hotel or not, I have a dinner stop here every time. I have yet to come for their breakfast or lunch because if everyone knows buffets, the best time is always dinner time. Especially weekends because they have the best seafood selections available. The dungeness crab, blue crabs, crawfish, shrimp, swordfish, snow crabs and more… But of course when in season. The prime rib is delicious when fresh. There are multiple stations from various themes such as American, Asian, Cajun, etc with pasta stations and grilled fish stations. There are times of long lines so get your dinner started early if possible. You come in and pay for your meal/drink. They have awesome sweet tea! You receive a ticket that is then presented to the hostess and directed to a table. The hostess leaves the ticket for your server and off you go. Seafood buckets are dropped off at the table for your server where you can dispose your shells. They also provide crackers and cutters. At the end they will give you wet wipes and sometimes hot towels. It just varies on availbilities I gues. The dessert bar is massive. They literally have everything! Well, I haven’t seen macaroons but they starting to get popular so maybe they will add it to the menu one day. But I also love their fresh fruit selections. I always jump on the strawberries and peaches. They used to have a whipped cream station but they took that away to my disappointment but I just ask one of the staff behind the dessert bar if they have whipped cream and they will provide me with as much as I want. BTW, I LOVE whipped cream and especially those it’s thick peaks which they produce perfectly. I know, weird obsession. I love this buffet due to it’s plentiful selections and I fortunately have not been disappointed by the freshness and cleanliness. Also they do sing happy birthday to the birthday person and give a special mini cake and candle. So if you want to embarrass someone for their birthday and give them 2 minutes of fame, do it here!
