Cotten’s Downtown

I love this place, wait staff super friendly, owner very Kool… Food is unique greasy spoon DDD quality. Today I’m getting the Jam Good Burger which for me was double ¼#, bacon, light cream cheese, pepper jelly, onion rings… For breakfast! This superb concoction of meet madness came at the suggestion of a review on the page. I’ve been here before and had The Defibrillator Omelette with another off menu suggestion which was a huge pancake, sugar cane syrup, cream cheese and pepper jelly. Yum. I got the opportunity to talk to the sweet rocking Kool owner, I noticed there was another Cotten’s Burger place in town turns out it’s her dads place and she worked there as a little girl. Anyhow she took her Dad’s mastery to another level.
Give this place a try, order off menu won’t be disappointed!

WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!
So, I went to Cotten’s Downtown this morning for breakfast with my best friend. I had ordered from Cotten’s a few times off Waitr and thought it was pretty good, and that one day I’d actually go in…
Well, okay, so I strut my ass up in there this morning hungry as caterpillar that wants to become a butterfly…
It was quaint and quiet inside. Old fashioned in an admirable way… Like a Waffle House 50 years ago.
Our waitress was quite fabulous and very attentive.
Answered all my questions along with the cook (owner)… I wanted a burger (since breakfast food doesn’t really give me my life). Wasn’t a problem… Speciality burger coming right up!
So, I ordered the same burger I ordered on Waitr the two other times… It was the Jam Good Burger, and lord have mercy I’m not lying — it was WAY WAY better than the ones I ordered from Waitr.
How is it better? There’s just more too it. Presentation is better. It obviously doesn’t travel as well.
Taste is subjective, of course, but this is easily the best burger I’ve had in Lake Charles. It’s a smaller burger, but it’s without peer. All other hamburgers out here will be compared to Cotten’s from now on. Yes, I left that impressed.
My best friend got the small breakfast and they easily accommodated his substitution requests. His breakfast was @?$!#%*€£ awesome!!! I don’t even care for breakfast, but those pancakes gave me LIFFFFEEEEEEE
They were big, fluffy and buttery. One had this jelly and cream cheese all on it. My taste buds are still gushing.
The place also uses REAL Florida’s Natural orange juice that is NOT from concentrate. You might not care, but it made me quite happy since I avoid concentrated juices at home. (Too syrupy)

Didn’t nickel and dime for substitutions.
Didn’t charge me for another OJ.
I was literally so impressed that I tipped both my waitress and the cook. At the end I gushed and told the owner how amazing it was and I would be back for Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner.
Awesome, awesome place!!!
It’s also both local AND woman owned (two things that mean a bunch to me). Love it. Love it. The easiest 5 star review I’ve ever left

Awesome breakfast! Can be hard to find but if you see the tall Chase building behind you then you are in the right spot.
Eggs were perfect, crisp bacon and strong coffee. Couldn’t ask for anything more before making the trip back to Houston.
