Cosmic rays is a quick service location at Disney’s Magic Kingdom theme park. It serves burgers, chicken, salads, etc. It is very typical quick service. The really fun thing about cosmic rays is there is a toppings bar, so you can add your own lettuce, tomato, pickles, onions, peppers, condiments etc, to your burger. I recommend this location for families with small children, there is plenty of seating, and a variety of food options that will satisfy even the picky tastebuds.

The one thing Disney can’t seem to get right is food service. Always long lines, slow service and mediocre food at a premium price. The sandwich breads /buns are always cold and almost stale. They would rather there be long lines than have adequate staff or bays open at Starlight. You’d expect more from a multi million dollar company that does this for thousands of guests a day. Disappointed.

Not Disney quality. The fries only good part. For as good as the hot dogs are at casey’s the ones at cosmic are bad. Super packed but what Disney quick service is not. There are much better options around the park then this place

It’s…OK. Food is pretty meh, but at least it’s one of the«cheaper» options at the Magic Kingdom.

Considering the other food options we had at the Magic Kingdom park(which is basically a carbon copy of all other food stands), this was the best one. They had a roast chicken, veggies, and mashed potato plate that was actually pretty good! When every other food place has the same generic nuggets, burgers, and basically«beige» looking food; it was nice to get something that was a little healthier and green.

This restaurant was not the worst place I have been to. However, the lacked in cleanliness and service. The French fries were not very tasty because the salt was not present. It was very hard to find a table to eat at. Also, the food portions were very small for the location and the money. For Disney, I would return around 2:00PM because the crowds have faded away. I give them five stars because they really make extra efforts for food allergies. For example, food for people with allergies is served on a green tray. The technique alerts the customer, the kitchen, and the servers. Well done Disney.

Cosmic Ray’s is a somewhere we have to stop by during almost every Magic Kingdom visit, and we are annual passholders! The food is certainly not the greatest thing in the world, but it’s also certainly not bad at all and compared to other quick-service options at MK it is right up there. Typically I get the cheeseburger, but the soup is also pretty good and the chocolate cake is surprisingly tasty. And, believe it or not, try the green beans because they are actually really good(better than the French fries!). What brings us back really is the nostalgic and happy feelings that arise when sitting down and listening to Sonny Eclipse. Sonny is an(animatronic!) alien from Yew Nork City on the planet Zork. He sings and plays his Astro Organ with his backup, invisible singers, The Space Angels. He has some fast, jazzy and fun tunes like: «Play, Astro play, take it away. So our boss Mister Cosmic Ray, will give us our pay today. …I’ll be sure to put a smile on, your tiny little earthling lips. Hello all you earthlings, my name is Sonny Eclipse!» And he has couple of romantic love songs such as: «…and I love you, yes I love you. Ever since I met you I just can’t come down to earth. I’m so happy, I stopped by to see your world. Your great continents I went and saw some, but your love’s the thing that’s really awesome.» I have many fond memories of my children dancing in front of this big alien while he sings. If you are in Tomorrowland in Magic Kingdom, I definitely recommend Cosmic Ray’s! :)

While this isnt fine dining… the food is horrendous. The burger had zero flavor, the fries were ok. The pop here… despicable. watered down beyond belief. My final thought if you think about eating here. .just dont.

This is your typical Disney restaurant although a bit better than the rest. I say that because they give you Bay 1 food is not the same as the second bay. All Disney food in these places taste pretty much the same, just blah yet expensive. The one thing that stood out here was the chocolate cake. My daughter turned me on to it and yes, it was really good if you like chocolate!

A little over $ 11 for a Bacon Deluxe Angus Cheeseburger and some fries. The burger was surprisingly decent for theme park food. Shoestring fries were yummy and there is plenty of condiments available at the snack bars. Portions are decent. I wish they would add a drink to this meal and then I would be happier shelling out the money but I suppose overall the price is comparable to a sit-down restaurant elsewhere. I would probably choose to eat here or Casey’s Corner out of the many places in the park to eat for the value for money(by Disney World standards anyway).

The holy grail of Disney Dining Plan counter service restaurants lives at Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Café. The rib and chicken combo includes ½ chicken and 3 rib bones with a healthy scoop of mashed potatoes and over — buttered green beans. The combo alone is $ 16.50 and — once you add dessert and drink — you have enough to definitely feed more than one person.

I am deeply saddened by the decision to remove their melted cheese. I loved me some cheese fries, and I considered them to be the absolute perfect stopover after a day of never-ending rides and whining kids. It’s Disney, so sometimes you just need, I mean NEED a place to take a break inside. No. More. Heat. No more lines. Just… a minute to regain sanity. Cosmic Ray’s will continue to be my go-to place, but it’s a little less awesome – and are better for a meal than a snack now. The lines are manageable but there are three reasons you are going, really: air conditioning, toppings bar for your burger, and the singing alien. They have lots of indoor seating at a price that won’t break the bank. The best thing is definitely the singing alien(«Sonny Eclipse»), who will keep your kids happy and distracted while eating for a blissful 30 – 45 minutes while you recharge for the rest of your marathon day. It’s our go-to spot as season pass holders. And they even have a talking trash can here!

Cosmic Rays is fast food counter service in the Tomorrowland portion of Magic Kingdom. The best counter service is definitely Be our Guest for lunch, but it is NOT easy to get into. Even though it is counter service they allow some resort guests to get priority seating. If you go stand in line, you could be waiting an hour easy. I know because I’ve done it. If you don’t feel like waiting for Be our Guest, this would be my second choice. The good thing about Cosmic Rays is the variety. There are 3 different«bays.» Bay 1 has chicken. They have chicken nuggets, chicken sandwiches, and even pieces of roasted chicken. They also have ribs. Bay 2 is burgers and hot dogs. Bay 3 is soup, salad, sandwiches. There is a little animatronic band that reminds me of Chuck E Cheese or Showbiz Pizza from when I was little. The food is adequate, but the variety is good. It’s theme park quick service. What do you expect?

I highly recommend this café if you are eating in the park. The food isn’t great by any means, but the café is huge with plenty of seats, air conditioned and there are three different stations that serve up all manner of casual food from burgers to chicken nuggets. Plus there is a topping bar that you can load up on. Almost makes up for the really high prices. Unless you are going for one of the fine dining experiences at the park, you won’t find anything better than this. It was also one of the only places we could find a seat anywhere inside to eat. The crowds are huge but they have a pretty efficient system considering the hordes and you will eventually get your food and find a table. INSIDE. In the Florida heat this is so needed. We ate here both days we went to the Magic Kingdom. There is a similar café in Frontierland, but I’m not sure if it is quite as big.

OMG Cosmic Ray’s, the name says it all, so keep your expectations on the low end, this place is built to feed the masses, quality isn’t their concern. Speak slow when ordering and keep your ticket handy to verify you have all the food in your trough before you leave the counter what you see is what you get. I am really amazed this place exist inside the gates of Disney it has to be a food contractor I can’t imagine that Walt would of ever allowed this process food factory inside his park on the other hand if you want to eat on the run and not spend a lot of time waiting for sit down service this place might work for you, and on a hot day just sitting for a few minutes and downing a refreshing cold drink does have its benefits.

Two workers recommended this place… this is exactly why I don’t listen to anyone… especially strangers. Half chicken and rib combo($ 16.19):with mashed potatoes and seasonal vegetables. The rib was meaty but it was super dry and tasteless. The green beans were not good either :( Barbecued pork sandwich($ 10.79): with choice of apple slices, green beans or french fries. The fries were the best part of the meal. Meet Sunny Eclipse. The funny alien entertainer that loves to sing cheesy songs LOL QUICKTIP: LOCATEDATBAY1INTOMORROWLANDFOODCOURT. 2 stars! Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Café is not yummylicious!

Once upon a time in the mid 70’s this was the place to see live bands perform several times a day. I kid you not!!! When they would finish their set, the stage would disappear into the tunnels of DW and would come back up empty. When it was time for another performance the stage would again disappear, the band would step on and it would rise up again. Now there’s an animatronic one man band playing music constantly. Things change. When you enter here take a good walk around and look at all the stations before you order as each station serves different items. Like all other eateries in DW it isn’t inexpensive. It is semi self serve and they have a «topping bar» that consists of maybe 6 items. I had the grilled chix sammie w/cucumber salad and even though it was a whopping $ 10.29, I think I got my monies worth. the chix was much larger than the bun and it was certainly filling. Too bad the chix came cold though. The cast members here were very polite and helpful which made the experience a little bit better.
