«Everyone Asks For Anthony,» yet Isiah is no slouch himself. Service is fun with a capital F. Food is delicioso. Went twice while in Maui. Highly suggest, as breakfast and the total experience is the best!

Best breakfast café in Lahaina! My husband and I ate here the first morning on our honeymoon and we can’t stop coming back! Must try the Smoked Salmon Eggs Benedict! Amazing service and great food!

Found this place on Unilocal and it is under rated. Quaint location and incredible food at a good price for Maui. A must stop place if in Lahaina.

Authentic Hawaiian breakfast in a small, authentic place right by the water(though there isn’t an ocean view). We had the Loco Moco and the Pineapple Boat. The fruit in the pineapple boat was perfectly ripe, and the loco moco was delicious, even though I was hesitant to try it as it looked quite heavy. I would definitely go here! Oh, and compared to a lot of places the prices are very reasonable. You may have to wait a while for your food(I heard the chef cooks on a regular 4 burner stove top eater than a commercial stove as the location looks like it used to be a house) but it’s worth it!

Loco moco was very tasty the gravy made the plate, the pancakes and eggs were good but nothing special, the service was good and the view of course was spectacular! Over all pretty good place glad we tried it out.

Bring cash as they accept cash only — The Sunrise Café is wonderfully delicious; my meal looked good and tasted better. The prices on this menu help on an expensive vacation like Maui as well. I would recommend it for those looking for a great start to their day. My wife and I waited a bit for our food, but the staff was excellent from top to bottom.

Waited 30 minutes after we ordered our breakfast. Have to go back to our parking lot to add one more hour. One senior cook hasting to serve 4 – 5 tables. Either hire more cooks to meet the demands, or let customers know about long waiting time before they are seated.

When we walked into the Sunrise Café the waitress politely informed us there would be a wait. My husband and I were determined to try the Loco Moco and Lox Benedict we heard so much about, so we did not mind. After a short 15 minute wait, a table opened up and we were seated. The same waitress let us know that they only have one cook and that it may be awhile before our orders were ready so we ordered a cinnamon roll, a side of fruit salad and some fresh pineapple juice to enjoy with our children while we waited. We were not disappointed. The cinnamon roll was heavenly and just the right size for sharing. The pineapple juice was fresh and a treat in itself. As tasty as both the juice and roll were, the Loco Moco and Lox Benedict took center stage. The portions were so generous, my husband and I split both entrees and ate to our hearts content. We highly recommend the Sunrise Café for the food, service and gorgeous view.

Easily the best loco moco in West Maui. Homemade patty, mushroom gravy… The only knock on it is that it is served on a plate and not in a bowl. I pass this place every time I’m in Lahaina but this is the first time I’ve stopped in. I regret not coming here sooner. You’ll either love or hate the ambiance, but personally it reminds me of hanging out in someone’s patio and I was all about it. The service is slow as there was only one person working the dining room but he was super friendly and I don’t think the speed of the service took anything away from the experience. With a view like this, it’s probably in your best interest to slow down anyway… Will definitely repeat.

I should have listened to some of the other reviews. We arrived at sunrise café at around 9a on a Saturday morning. They asked our party of 3 to wait out back, for a table. 15 – 20 minutes later, we were seated. 15 minutes… not too bad of a wait. Little did we know, that was just the beginning. We quickly ordered breakfast, since our 3 yr old was getting hangry. And then we waited. And waited. We waited 45 – 60 minutes to get our simple pancakes & eggs. And service, during the wait, was non-existent. There’s one, maybe 2, servers. Two older owners/cooks in the kitchen. And that’s it. So, definitely don’t come hungry. Or with children. And although my husband liked his food, the chocolate pancakes were only a 4 out of 10.

Great spot in downtown Lahaina right on Front St. next to the Public Library. I wanted Locomoco and they had it, but what I wanted what wasn’t on the menu. I want my Locomoco with Kalua pork instead of beef patties so I asked. She said«Sure no problem, do you want with cabbage still?». I said yes please and was treated to the best Locomoco plate I have ever had. Not only was it a generous portion but it was the best gravy I have ever had and it was clearly home made from the Kalua pork juices. YUM! I will definately come back and drag friends with, yeah!

Cash only! Very interesting mom-pop shop feel. Hole in the wall. Built a shack around some trees. Great service. Be patient as they make your food. Delicious eggs benny! If you’re looking for a low key, non-pretentious, and homemade food this is where you should go! I feel like this local family in town is having me over for brunch. Eggcellent food! They don’t yolk around here!

Sunrise Café is a nice chill spot to have breakfast. Very affordable. I had the Loco Moco with mushroom gravy. Very tasty. Most people were ordering the cinnamon roll which is their specialty. Anthony was our server. He’s a good guy with a great personality. I appreciate the fact that he gave us an update on our food. He also gave us a good Happy Hour recommendation. Betty’s café. If you go out back, the restaurant has a nice shady view of the Lahaina Bay.

I would go here for breakfast every day if I could. On our short 4-day trip, we came here twice for breakfast and everything we ate was perfect. We got here when it opened(7am) both times and were sat and served within minutes. We got the best seat in the house both times, in the lanai looking out onto the water. Anthony is an exceptional server; so personable and friendly. He managed to give so much attention to all of the diners. He kept the coffee coming and checked in frequently to make sure we were enjoying everything. We ordered the macadamia nut cinnamon roll, the Eggs Benedict, the Monte Cristo, the Breakfast Burrito(added sausage), and a side order of spam. I highly recommend the Monte Cristo which is turkey, ham and cheese in between 3 pieces of French toast served with guava jelly. It’s unreal how good it is. Loved the eggs Benedict as well. The eggs were perfectly poached so that the yolks were soft and kind of runny but not too liquidy that they just spilled out onto the plate. The breakfast burrito was nice and big so if you want a strictly savory breakfast, it would be a good choice. The cinnamon bun was good too, but not as soft as I had hoped. Definitely needed a knife and fork to eat; not really the pull-apart kind of cinnamon bun I expected. Still really delicious though.

My fiancé and I ate here twice on our trip to Lahiana because it was so good! We got the papaya with cottage cheese & granola which was fabulous & we got the lox Benedict(which I do not like salmon) but it was honestly one of the best Benedicts I’ve ever had, we also got The loco moco which if you are super into trying local cuisine I would definitely recommend this dish! Also I’d highly recommend the fresh pineapple juice! We will be back on our next trip to Maui!

I had the Breakfast Burrito. Fresh ingredients, eggs cooked perfectly. The wife had the Loco Moco. It was spot on, mushroom gravy was savory and not oversalted at all, with a tasty beef patty. We really liked the Portuguese sausage as well. Staff were beyond friendly, definitely went above and beyond. Partial view of the ocean if you can get the right table. Loved it!

Great find in downtown Lahaina. Feels like going to your grandma’s house for a great home cooked meal. If you’re in the area, definitely drop by for breakfast or lunch. The décor is scarce, but service and food all make up for it. The Loco Moco is excellent! I never been a fan of Loco Moco but, man, I take back that claim after having my first bite at Sunrise. The ground beef has good flavor and I was certain the gravy was made of James Brown soul. The Sunrise Platter was also good — very simple meal but very well made. We also had a side of spam and they hooked it up with pretty much the whole can. That put everything over the limit for us, hefty meal indeed. Smoothie was made of fresh fruit but a little flavorless to us. We drank it for the nutritional value and to get some morsel of vitamins with our meal. Great spot that might be a little hard to find but definitely worth walking a little out of your way for.

WOW!!! what an amazing place! We came to Maui all the way from California and were searching for the best restaurants to eat at… This place exceeded our expectations. It’s like a lil mom and pop restaurant with all HOMEMADEMEALS! We ordered the eggs Benedict and loco moco! BEST loco moco we’ve tried. It had so much flavor that it felt like the first bite every time! Definitely recommend this place for breakfast! Can’t wait to come back before we leave! Great service as well as a beautiful view.

Cash only! Try the scones they are homemade and eating breakfast or lunch. Mmmmm. Eggs Benedict was so delicious and my hubby had the Monte Cristo breakfast sandwich ham eggs and white cheddar cheese. Everything comes it’s fruit and the potatoes are so good too. Very small inside but great service and food takes a little long so order a scone or muffin and they warm it up and I put butter on it so good. Friends had the oatmeal bowl with fruit and pancakes with a syrup that taste homemade. We would like to go back again but there’s so many place to choose from and we need to try everything. Defiantly recommend this place.

First morning on Maui my friends and I came here for breakfast and I was glad we did. I got the eggs Benedict which came with a side of potatoes and I was thoroughly impressed. The potatoes had some sort of chorizo-type kick to them, but still yummy. Then the eggs Benedict was just great, I mean I feel like it’s rather difficult to mess up but still it was delicious. I seemed to inhale my breakfast but because. Hello it was yummy! I almost got the vegetarian bagel(but I chose the Benedict instead) but it looked so yummy as well. Next time, I will for sure be trying the vegetarian bagel.
