Soular Tattoo and Piercing

Went in to have my Tragus pierced. Excellent customer service. They are friendly, nice and very helpful. Great education on the care of your piercing. Will be going back to get two more piercings. Not even considering going to another place. This is the place to go for your piercing… don’t hesitate. You’ll be in good hands.

For piercing this is where you want to go on the island. Outstanding customer service, they really understand how to make a person comfortable and give great suggestions about cool hardware that looks good! I’m sorry I can’t remember the name of the awesome chick who helped me out, but I am so grateful I went here because she seriously had the best recommendations and was super knowledgable about everything piercing related. I lost an o-​ring while swimming in the ocean and y’all helped me out big, thank you!!!

I was very disappointed with the service here. First of all they denied me entry with my service dog. Against the federal law BTW. Regardless if they do tattoos there or not. My dog can accompany me anywhere the general public is allowed. Period. And on top of it all, Jasn had pierced me many times. All of my piercings forced themselves out. The ones I went and got from him recently are crooked. He pierced my upper lip on both sides, and they are not symmetrical and not straight. Another thing, I went in to get some piercings done and was like $ 1.00 short. Now me being a local and kinda just common sense that you help people out, there was no «no worries bro» I got stiffed for my crooked piercings and told my dog had to stay outside. If I did in fact go into seizures while my dog was tired up outside I would be suing them right now. Or even worse if my dog was stolen from their shop they would have a very very very angry person to deal with. I do NOT recommend them at all. Ass holes.

I feel like Chuck can do anything you throw at him. Yeah, he’s that talented, therefore I will probably get all my tattoos done by him and only him from now on. People of Maui knows he’s the best in the biz which means he’s almost always booked.
Went in to get a filler tattoo for my negative spaces in my arm, Chuck with no hesitation draws up to amazing peony flower ON MY ARM, free hand, and the results are amazing. Chuck is the frikken man!
Don’t try to go to anywhere else.

So in the middle of our first trip to Maui my wife and I decided to get tattoos together. We looked at some reviews of tattoo shops and chose to stop in to inspect sketches at Soular. I loved the look of a Hawaiian crow of Chuck’s and talk about adapting it, and my wife booked an appointment with Kyle with a more generic idea.
Fast forward to a day before the appointment and my wife was having reservations about her design choice and returned to discuss with Kyle. He took time for another consult and, through talking with her, set up a completely custom design that incorporated her ideas.
Day of and our original designs are ready. Chuck adapted his original drawing expertly and added more design features, and my wife’s is just what she was hoping for. Not just a trace job but original sketches. Both artists took the time to insure perfect placement. The couple of hours passed quickly with as they worked efficiently and made us feel welcome with interesting conversation throughout. At completion I was amazed by the fine detail, shading, and colouration on both tattoos. The prices were a completely reasonable for the work done and size of each project. Could there be a better way to wrap up at vacation in Maui than getting a tattoo? I think not! And especially from the fine folks at Soular tattoo!
Chucky, made special arrangements to get mine, and my friends tattoo done on the day we were leaving back to Colorado. He came in on his normal day off to do this for us just so we could enjoy every possible moment of the sun, beach, and snorkeling possible. How is that for exceptional business practice, not to mention true Hawaiian hospitality!
Now, onto the tattoo. As you can see from the photo Chucky did an amazing job! I told him I wanted a piece of Hawaii as a tattoo, and memory of the island. This is what he came up with. I think it’s awesome, and I am extremely happy, and proud of it.
On my next visit to Maui, I will be setting up an appointment with Chucky, and Soular tattoo again!

One of the best and easiest piercing experiences I have gone through. Pain, is a different story though! AND I HATE NEEDLES!!! Came in on a Friday night around 7 or so. Chuck was super easy to talk to and I came in wanting a piercing on my ear but not sure where I wanted to place it. He brought out pictures of previous piercings he’s done and offered suggestions. I decided on a conch and he recommended different jewelry choices that would help with the best healing process. Although it was getting closer to closing time he didn’t seem in a hurry and was very attentive and focused on the entire piercing process. Chuck went over a detailed explanation before he pierced my ear and then after for the healing process. The jewelry as pictured on their website, is threaded inside. Which personally, I think it’s cleaner and feels better. (Jewelry can get pretty pricey — but I recommend a good quality one, since it will be stuck in your body)
PAIN: He stated after, that the conch is one of the most painful spots to pierce. He doesn’t lie, it was sore, but tolerable. It just sort of throbbed for a few hours after and then it disappeared. Like any new piercing, if you take really good care of it, the healing process is a breeze. I highly recommend purchasing the H20 ocean spray. I like the spray better than the homemade saline solution.
I highly recommend Chuck for your piercing addictions! If you just want to check out the store, they sell clothing items and have a big selection of jewelry! I don’t think I’ll be getting a tattoo any time soon but I would defiantly return for any more piercings in the future.

Just got my tattoo done at soular tattoo in lahaina by chucky! I couldn’t be more happier with it. It’s exactly how I wanted it to be. He captured my vision perfectly. If you want a quality tattoo then this is the place to go! Thanks again I LOVE it!!!

Soular tattoo is amazing. I went to visit Maui about 3 weeks ago and I was dying to get a tattoo. After lots of research I found Chuck (Charles). His work is amazing and you can see it in his portfolio. I went ahead and emailed him and got a fast response. He was very straight forward and genuine. We set up a free consultation and he helped me with my tattoo design. I got my tattoo the day before leaving and he did an amazing job! He was also quick too! This was my first tattoo and I couldn’t have asked for a better person to do it. I love soular tattoo!

Couldn’t be happier with my tattoo. It’s unique and detailed and came out beautiful. Chuck was awesome to work with, he’s an amazing artist and a very skilled tattooer. I had a relatively big piece done, and was so pleased with the amount of attention and focus he gave it. He cares about his work and it shows. It healed perfectly too, which says a lot. My recommendation would be to go in with only an idea of what you want, and leave it in his hands to do the rest, you won’t be disappointed.

Great shop! Chuck is super cool and crammed us in for last minute ring tattoo’s on our anniversary. Cool shop and nice vibe. We’ll definitely go back for all our other tats!

My sis got her tattoo done by him last year and she suggested I get my tattoo from him as well… she said he was very light with his hands and very very very talented. I told her that I believe her because the tattoo that he did on her wrist… amazing.
I had my consultation with him… and the week after… boom… I was sitting in his chair … amazed that I was actually getting my second tattoo.
He was very light with his hands… and believe it or not… I was able to tolerate the pain to the best of my abilities… until the shading… which literally almost knocked me out!
He was chilled… mellow… and easy going. My tattoo was very detailed and it’s just amazing how the smallest detail he was able to add. I loved the white highlight!
The shop itself was very clean… and sterile!
Folks… I highly recommend him… you will not be disappointed!

Had a great time with Chuck a couple of weeks ago while vacationing in Maui. Went in to have a tribal dragon added to and Chuck saw my old simple dragon on the other shoulder from 30 years ago and suggested that we completely redo it bigger and better this time.
