Boss Frog’s Dive & Surf – Lahaina Cannery Mall

Michele and Butterfly were super friendly and helpful. Renting boards directly from store was way less expensive than resort and they provided the straps and foam for the car. Very convenient.

Today was the second time going to this location to rent snorkeling gear, boogie board, beach chairs and umbrella. The staff are very nice. Kapena was especially helpful and patient with us.

I was looking for rental gear and found this place. I worked with Michele and she was knowledgeable and very helpful. This is the place to rent gear.

Great service! Prices to rent better than at resorts (about half the cost). Shawn Singelton helped me — He was very informative, attentive, and pleasant when assisting me with all the gear I needed for my first-​time snorkelling (including optical goggles, for those blind without wearing glasses like me). Will definitely go back there for any gear I need.

My wife and I rented snorkel gear for 2 days. With their directions of where to snorkel with our kids we had to call and extend the rental for another day because we had such a great time. We had a great time and had great customer service with the pickup and drop-​off of equipment. Thanks again! We will rent from boss frog’s at cannery mall when we return next year!!!

Kapena was super-​helpful! Not only did he help us with our rash guards, he had great local knowledge on all water related activities! He even gave us great recommendations for awesome local eateries. Great prices too!

This is our second visit in two years to Maui. Both trips we went to Boss Frog’s for different purposes. Last year was our first ever trip and my husband and I wanted to go on every excursion possible. We ended up spending a lot. We noticed lower prices (after the fact) at Boss Frog’s. This year when we came back with our children, we went to Boss Frog’s first. Butterfly Jin was super helpful and respectful of a big family wanting to enjoy Maui without breaking the bank. She was very patient with me as I changed my mind several times. She went above and beyond to get us great deals and was very kind in the process. We rented snorkel gear for the week, she helped both my daughter and I get prescription goggles so we could actually see underwater. We ended up spending less for our entire family to enjoy parasailing, jet skiing, and snorkeling at Molokini, than just my husband and I spent on the two of us last year. She suggested that we consider checking out a time share to save even more. We did, it was not too painful and we walked away without purchasing a timeshare. We will definitely come back again, and we absolutely appreciate Butterfly Jin’s customer service.

Stopped by to get some info and we got some great tips for checking out turtles while snorkeling. Then we were given some hook ups for free appetizers at Fleetwoods! Kapena was so helpful, I highly suggest speaking with him about some ideas for food, kid activities and adventure. Looking for local ideas, he is it! He’s from Maui so he knows his stuff! ¹⁰⁄₁₀!

Michele provided the best costumer service we have received since we arrive on Maui. She was able to find us everything we needed and more! An amazing experience from start to finish! Plus we were given secret spots!!!

This is my first Unilocal but I’m happy to do it… this ones for you Kapena! Went in to ask about snorkeling gear and conditions and came out with boogie boards and fins! Surf is up and I’m rolling with it! I’ll be back to trade for the easy breathe snorkel set when the surf goes down but we’ll see how I do… go see Kapena!

As a resident here on Maui, we rarely rent snorkel gear. But with our family here from Oahu we decided to stop in and check out this store since it was right next to Starbucks. We saw Kapena who gave us some great tips on some restaurants, activities, and even coupons for free appetizers and hula pie!
He was funny and helpful while fitting us with our fins and easy breathe snorkel set! If you’re renting gear and want someone that cares, go see Kapena!

Apparently don’t return their overpriced gear after 7:00 pm because they will openly complain about it and be super rude. People were nice when I rented so gave an extra star. Not sure if the guy was having a bad day when I dropped it off but don’t take it out on customer.

We came here to rent snorkel gear and the man working was rude and arrogant telling us that our family that lived here didn’t know anything and why would he be taking us out. So we didn’t end up renting snorkel gear. Instead we went to a different boss frogs in which the people there were much more attentive and respectful. Bringing the gear back we made the mistake of coming back the boss frogs at the cannery mall and a lady with blond hair was rude as hell. Don’t come here they will make you feel like a dumb tourist that doesn’t belong here.

This is the worst service I have ever encountered. I asked this cashier, Schauer, about the price of 2 similar items to compare their prices. He told me they are both between 4 to 6 dollars. Then I said I need to know the exact prices, he showed very impatient. (that was 11:30 in the morning and no other customer in the shop). Then I decided to make the purchase but he continue to give me an attitude. He did not give me the receipt until I asked him. I told him he had a lousy service. But he asked me if I need a security to escort me out of the shop. Someone like him should not be in customer service

Got great service from Michele and all the equipment was in great shape! We’ve used them twice now.

Taz was an amazing!!! She was very informative and had a great out going personality. She took care of our needs and we left excited for the rest of our day! Thank you auntie Taz!

Noodle provided excellent service as well as the blonde lady working today :) Very helpful and informational at Boss Frog’s. We are very happy with our rentals and purchases made here and will definitely be using their services in the future!

I have to retract my review of these guys. They did right after I made a complaint about the wait time to rent snorkels and claim about them not honoring 2 for 1 coupon. I received an email next day APOLOGIZING for my bad experience at their Lahaina Cannery location. They asked me to give them a call which I did. Explained the incident and they took the incident very seriously and made it up to us big time! Their equipment is very good as long as you don’t get the low end snorkel. I will definitely try them again when I go back to Maui!
