Dr. Mendelsohn has been my Gyn since the late 1990’s. She is fantastic!!! Thorough and extremely knowledgeable. She doesn’t waste a lot of time with small chit chat because she’s a busy dr., but is still very personable. She has a dry sense of humor(east coast), but is still funny. I really like how candid she is, I can talk to her about anything! Great bedside manner, gets to the point and very proactive when necessary. She is a no frills excellent Dr!!! A+++

Dr. Mendelsohn wasn’t my OBGYN when I was pregnant, but she was the doctor on-call the night I delivered at Saddleback. She, along with the nurses that night, were excellent, and I’m fully confident that it’s because of Mendelsohn that I was able to have a successful and relatively easy VBAC. Her attitude about VBACs had a lot to do with it: she was 100% confident that I could do it, even when there were times I doubted I could. She’s definitely not a nurturing type of doctor — she is from NY, if I’m not mistaken, so she doesn’t suffer fools gladly — but she was just what I needed at that time, and was my cheerleader and a big support.

Yes, there is a lot of time waiting but most doctors are like that so that is not the reason for the negative review. I go to this doctor for gynecological exams and also for treatment of Hypothyroidism. I was busy and did not make it in for my yearly Pap smear. I had, however been in recently for my thyroid blood work. When I went to refill my thyroid meds, they refused because my Pap smear was overdue. WHAT!!! Yes, I am out of medication and they will not refill it until I make an appt. for a Pap smear so they can charge my insurance. They will only communicate via website email and it takes 2 days for a question to be answered by a nurse, you will never be allowed to speak to the doctor. I am not sure if this doctor knows her nurses are forcing patients to go without needed medication as blackmail for making appointments but all doctors should have some way for a patient to communicate with them directly. It is clear that this practice does not care about patients, they just want to charge for as many things as possible and make sure the doctors are protected from ever being bothered by patients.
