Cards. Candles. Tchotkis for your home. Reasonable(especially for Lagina Beach) prices and really friendly staff. They had some unique colored hats. I bought a coral one and my sister a teal colored hat.

First of all. .. this is one of my favorite stores on Forest Ave. in Laguna Beach. Shopped there for years. I’m giving it this rating in hopes to bring attention to the owner. Your store needs air-conditioning or more fans! I took visiting friends into the store this week. We left after only a couple of minutes. It was awful inside. We weren’t the only customers leaving because of the stifling heat in your store. Weather was unusually hot and very humid. While that weather isn’t common I will say the exact same thing happened last summer when I took my visiting sister to your store. We had to leave after a few minutes because of the heat. We noticed that most of the stores on Forest are air-conditioned or have some type of cooling system. Perhaps you should consider doing something about it. If not for the lack of sales(we were ready to spend $$) but for your employees that have to endure that heat. It was awful. Other than that. .. Love your store!

Walking around before our dinner rezzie, the sea theme wares in the windows at Laguna Colony Company drew us inside My mom has a sea theme in her kitchen, so I never pass up the opportunity to check out places w/these kinds of offerings — always a good time to shop for gifts! There were picture frames, serving platters & utensils, towels & trivets & all kinds of kitchen goodness And this is not to mention all the other items they had for fab browsing like mugs, pillows w/funny sayings embroidered on them, jewelry, glassware, throw blankets — what I’m trying to say is, you’ll want to plan to spend a lot of time in here! This visit, I chose some Sea Soap /Lotion Dispensers — nice shades of turquoise & a embellished starfish & seashell design on it… these will be perfect adornments for her kitchen sink! I could have gone totally overboard w/everything they had but limited myself to just the 2 items… which only means I can look forward to coming back next yr & picking up even more gift ideas for Mom… it’s a win-win!

So many cards and candles. I love this place. If you’ve got an awesome card from me in the last year, it’s likely that it came from here. The massive selection of Papyrus cards for all ages, along with the other quirky brands stand out among your typical card shop(see the Laguna Beach post office). They’ve got multiple lines of beautiful candles and stock a good supply of Butter London nail polishes. There’s other gifts and a special flavor of classy unusual in here that doesn’t seem to match my gift giving style, but is still pretty interesting and worth checking out if you’re in a pinch looking for lady gifts. Among all the stores with odd touristy attractions and artist creations, The Laguna Colony Company certainly carves their niche. Keep doing what you’re doing!

I didn’t buy anything but I wanted to. Had the kiddos and the hubby waiting outside while I popped in to browse. Lovely shop with adorable gifts and fabulous trendy jewelry-oh, how I wanted more time to buy something nice! But the pressure of the familia waiting on me… just too much, next time I come alone and shop till my hearts content. And… I will be buying one of those cute necklaces I saw!

While tourists crowd the first block of retail stores on Forest Avenue in Laguna Beach, locals slip right past them, heading just one block further on Forest to their favorite décor and gift store in town, The Colony. Nestled next to the town’s post office since 1994, The Laguna Colony Company is a treasure trove of one-of-a-kind collections and the hottest trends in jewelry and home fragrances — you won’t find these pieces anywhere else in Laguna Beach. It’s why locals, celebrities and returning travelers from all over the world stop in regularly to see what proprietor Paul Mosley is featuring this time around. He keeps it fresh, eclectic and very reasonably priced. As just a sampling, The Laguna Colony features: * Vietri and Mariposa dish and serving ware; * Aquiesse and Voluspa candles and home fragrances; * Jellycat stuffed animals in the children’s section; * The latest rage in jewelry — Kim Herbert’s line of Charlotte Singleton Silver; * And the Energy Muse Jewelry line, made famous by hundreds of celebrity devotees such as Heidi Klum, Seal, Hillary Duff, David Beckham, Usher, Ryan Seacrest … even Patti LaBelle and L.A. Lakers Coach Phil Jackson. While you’re there, be sure to check out Paul’s unique Mongolian antique furniture pieces, visit the expansive upstairs card shop, and wander through the store’s seasonal décor. Your home will thank you, your jewelry box will thank you, and your pet sitters back home will be so pleased that you opted for a sophisticated gift instead of that run-of-the-mill tourist t-shirt.
