The best spices and teas. I get my ghost pepper salt fix here. The owner I always see is very nice and knows his stuff. They recently moved from Ocean Ave to PCH.

There is absolutely no better spice shop than Spice Merchants… nor more beautiful. Gorgeous glass jars of aromatic tastes that tease your senses! The owner is so hands on with assisting you with whatever you need, helping you pair spices, rubs, and herbs to your liking. But, what sets them apart is their selection. They have items you can’t find ANYWHERE! Green tea sea salt… yup, they’ve got it. Tuna rub… but of course. I am telling you, I have thrown some doozies at him, and he always laughs and pulls out whatever odd request I have. As a chef’s wife, we tend to come up with dishes before we actually find the ingredients. I’m just so proud to say Spice Merchants always fill the bill. TIP: Check out their amazing tea section. The gorgeous display and vast selections will blow your mind. Enjoy!

Nicest and most helpful people in the world. The place smells really good too. They helped pick out a gift for me to give. Cool products in here. They’ve got ideas to make you look like a 5 star chef!

Charming little spice shop full of gourmet spices, teas and gifts. I stocked up on spices and recommend their hot pepper blends. Pyromaniac, & Devils Dust are my favorites! And I also love their Bloody Mary seasoning! Great for rimming glasses and adding extra flavor. Definitely check out this shop if you’re in town.

When we come for the Pageant of Masters, we always make a little side trip to this shop. We love the different blends offered and the teas. Each time was come, we find new blends and stock up for the year. The owner always tells us to call and order but its just more fun to explore and shop by SMELL. So many rubs for meats, toppings for popcorns, salts for all dishes. Very cool specialty spice shop. They also have some accessories for cooking and tea-ware. Also some very spicy chile powders if you like to heat things up =)

This is my favorite place in Laguna Beach. The owner is very helpful without being pushy. He is always friendly and never seems annoyed by my endless questions. He is extra helpful in packing items like balsamic vinegar for plane travel, he went the extra mile to be sure the bottles were not going to break. There is a huge selection of spices, cocoa, teas, soup mixes, etc… A multitude of jar choices also. Big or little, a spice baggie, whatever your pleasure is, ask and he will help you. The spices are fresh and fragrant. There is also online ordering but that is not nearly as fun. This is a hidden gem, hunt it out and try the spices.

Walking around, looking to kill some time before our dinner rezzies, the sign for Spice Merchants totally drew us in… well, that & the fabulous scents wafting out the door This was a paradise of flavors & smells! They had single spices & mixes alike, ranging from salts, peppers, & herbs to oils, vinegars & even loose leaf tea We also saw some cocoa mixes & local honeys which I totally wanted to get but I didn’t want to check my luggage so decided to pass… total regret! We ended up getting the following: Merlot Salt — yes, a salt dried w/merlot. We were told this would be great w/potatoes or anything we wanted to flavor w/wine… um, everything? Tuscan Blend & Pesto Blend — great for pastas & had tomato, chili, garlic & some other spices Dried Mushroom blend — we put this in scrambled eggs & it was **outstanding**!! Curry mix that’s been AWESOME to add to butternut squash when we’re making pizzas Basil & Parm Pesto blend is next on our shelf to try along w/a spice mix for pecans that I’m positive will be amazing! We’ll definitely be seeing you next trip to the LA-area, to restock our supplies

The best selection of spices and loose tea in South OC! I love to use spices and herbs in all my home dishes but one thing I can’t be without and that’s tea. I brew loose leaf tea almost everyday from my Zojirushi. This location has some of the most creative blends of tea I have ever seen and they all come in sample packages to take home. Stop in and grab a few to try, there is something for everybody!

IWhat a fantastic place to shop for your favorite spices. I regularly buy turmeric, ginger and cayenne at the local health food store but I will definitely buy here from now on. The people are so friendly and attentive, willing to answer any questions and share their vast knowledge. I really enjoyed my experience!

Im a big fan of good teas and spices. I search for spots and it often is hard to get some of the unique things required for newer recipes. I adore a Teavanna tea in my local mall, but I hate paying shipping and buying such a large quality that can go bad before I get a chance to enjoy it at its peak. Well hello Spice Merchant, the answer to my desires to stay local and support my town and enjoy quality products. This store is worth the drive even if you’re not in the area. The owners are as friendly as can be and the options are countless. You can easily spend a fortune if you cant control yourself since so many things seem so appealing. But it also makes for a great gift spot for the hard to buy folks. So next time your in Laguna and your about to go into whole foods across the street, think twice as to what you buy, cause the good stuff is at the Spice Merchants.

We live in Laguna and this is one of our FAVORITE places to spend time learning about flavors, balsamics and oils. What a gem! Every color and texture under the sun — spices from around the globe and super sweet people run the place. I just wish they offered a little info on each of the spices and how to use them. YouTube can help, but I vote for spice classes!

So many spices and spice combinations! I would have bought one of everything then and there.(My pocketbook doesn’t allow that!) I purchased but have yet to try the 2 spice combos I purchased. I picked up 2 packets one using Blood Orange in it and the other has Cranberry in it. I wish I lived closer, I found some powdered wasabi which would work great for cooking or practical jokes.

I can’t say enough how great this store is! The huge selection of spices are amazing! In addition, their local olive oil and honey are the best in Orange County. Top it off with one of the nicest owners, makes this a must stop when in Laguna! Btw, the avocado dark honey rocks.

Great little spice shop, plus tea! Loaded with lots of fun extras for both tea and spice mixing and storage. Here you’ll find your everyday spices in varying grinds, sizes(several garlic, ginger) along with spice blends, salt and sugar blends and even a few blends of spices for tea. They also have olive oil and balsamic blends, with a few hot sauces. It’s a great place to stock up on your bulk spices while saving money by not getting way more than you need before it goes bad. Spices and tea don’t keep forever! A great addition to the Laguna Beach shopping experience!

The spice must flow. And here at the Spice Merchants they know this. I was looking for mulling spices to make mulled wine, and they had a ready packet for that. They have just about every spice you can name, and other ready packets of spice blends for cooking. In fact, all they lacked was a packet of ready chai spices or else this would be a five star review.
