Terrible service by young kids who don’t take the time to be friendly or accurate. I’ve had drinks spilled on me, food cold, even with ordering out the portions are small & over priced. Have tried giving this place multiple chances but we don’t be back.

Although I’m reviewing this particular location, I’ve found all the Hometown locations to be pretty consistent, so really, this is a review of Hometown Pizza in general. Go to your nearest location and enjoy! I love Hometown Pizza! Growing up in Oldham County, Hometown was a weekly occurrence for my family. They don’t deliver, but it was always worth the drive to carryout or dine in. In high school, I got my first job creating pizzas at this location. Even after eating my own pizza every shift for three years, I still crave this pizza. Maybe I’m biased, but Hometown Pizza is some of my favorite pizza in the area. Hometown has thin crust and pan pizza. The pan pizza is thick, buttery, and crispy. My personal favorite is the thin crust, which is a nice balance of sturdy without being cracker-crunchy. Hometown doesn’t overload the sauce, cheese, or toppings to the point that you can’t pick up a slice, but the toppings certainly are not sparse by any means. And I know from experience that all the toppings are fresh. Really, it’s a perfectly balanced, flavorful pizza. Hometown has tons of locations, with the majority located in small towns or on the outskirts of Louisville(Middletown, J-town, Preston). Though Hometown isn’t the most convenient if you live in the city center, it’s worth the trip. It’s also good to know if you’re travelling to or through the surrounding counties that there is a good, local pizza option you can visit.

Great place for a work lunch! Great price for the Buffett option and many options of pizza, salad, and pasta to get.

The toppings were good, but the thin crust was too white flour tasting for me. I think the small with 4 toppings for $ 11.99 is a bit high priced, but only since I didn’t eat the crust perhaps. Menu has a lot of other selections besides pizza – I would try something else if there is a next time.

So I am writing this review because this seems to be a local pizza place, found only in the La Grange area. Let me explain how I came across it. Today, there was a scene of a movie shooting in La Grange, KY and my extra casting director was able to land me an extra role. After sitting in the room for hours, getting called to set and back in, eating literally peanuts(snacks not good enough for what we do in a movie. I have a footer on this*) our Kentucky law(a lunch after 6 hours of work), lunch break came. This pizza was apparently what the production company, of this film, had ordered for the extras. When I first tasted it, it was decent, almost like pizza hut’s pizza. The underlying crust(crust under the cheese and topping part tasted a bit like cardboard.); however, the actual crust was very soft. Since I was hungry though, I just gobbled whatever I could get because all we were served was the metaphorically described peanuts. In this case, 4 slices at lunch plus an entire box that the crew of the movie allowed me to take home. *I compare the standard to how extras are treated in terms of food because the principal actors(ones that say line) and crew get dibs on the craft food truck(pretty much any kind of food you would want is in there) and catering(I mean lavish, probably gourmet chicken, salmon, rice etc.); while we get left with the pretzels, trail mix, granola bars, and FUN size(not even full size) candy bars! It’s like economy vs. first class on an airplane!!! Of course towards the end of the movie, they gave it up and I was able to take full size candy bars home. :D

For the pizza lunch buffet, they cannot be beat. Especially for around $ 6, the fact that they will make custom pizza toppings to suit your buffet experience garners them top marks.

I love this restaurant I went here all the time when I used to live in LaGrange. I really miss it, but unfortunately, I live in Georgia now but I know that hometown pizza will always be a favorite of mine, and I will ALWAYS stop by for some spaghetti with marinara and mushrooms!

Gave it another try. Ordered online, pics of my order posted, asked for no olives on the southwest chicken pizza, it came with PLENTY of olives. Ordered bacon cheddar fries, got a thimble full of cheddar, an tenth of a slice of bacon, pic posted. Ordered extra marinara for the cheesy bread sticks, pic posted, received zero marinara. I guess I can blame myself, I should have checked the carryout order before I left, but to be honest I don’t think I should have to. We had a good run Hometown Pizza, I’ve been coming in since 1986, I’m gonna be a Papa Murphys guy from now on.

Home town has been in La grange for years. I love pizza so I decided to go for the lunch buffet and update my review. It is a very generous buffet with a salad bar with fresh ingredients, about 8 different pizzas, spaghetti and meatballs, garlic bread and several deserts. You can eat till you’re stuffed but, get your fill of salad before they close it at 1:30. They will leave the pizzas out longer and if they don’t have your favorite out, just ask them to make one and they will be more than happy to, within reason. For $ 6.88 you can’t go wrong. If you enjoy eating there and plan to visit again, ask them for a rewards card. You get a free buffet after you acquire so many points.

Hometown Pizza La Grange gets 5 stars, that I know. –It may be because the food is fantastic(half Joe’s Special, half Buffalo Chicken on a thin crust pie, trust me on this one). –Or it could be the fact that it personifies small town U.S.A. with a crew that acts like(and sometimes is) family and solid community ties. –It might be that the ~$ 8 lunch buffet is amazingly cheap for quality grub. –It COULD be because you always end up with leftovers that feed you for days. –Alright…that last one may just be me and my eyes-that-tend-to-be-bigger-than-my-stomach. :) Either way, when someone suggests«Hey, meet me at Hometown» I feel like I’m about to go somewhere special. And that, my friends, equals 5 stars in my book.

Tastes like frozen pizza :( I’ve been here about 6 times in the last 7 years. You’d think I’d learn after the first two or three. The pizza is just plain dissapointing. Some of the locals are nuts for this place — I have no idea why. The people that work there have always been friendly — that’s a plus. But good tasting food is a must. The last time I went, my wife had a a buy-one get one coupon for the buffet. Honestly, I won’t return unless its a ‘get one’ coupon.
