A Fabulous restaurant centrally located in Lafayette. Owned by a wonderful family, also the chef. You can feel that everything in this place is touched with love. The food is «delicious» Very authentic French. Great ambience and super nice service. MUST try!

During the 11 years I lived in Paris together with my wife(who is French), we had a neighborhood bistro that was«ours». It was our go-to spot for any occasion — guests from out of town, friends from another arrondissement, birthdays, celebrations, or just when we lacked the energy to cook for ourselves. The servers knew us, the owner always came over to say hello, and the food was traditional, not too pricey, and reliably excellent. Now that we live in the US, this is a tradition we’ve missed. We often go to the Chez Panisse café, but it’s a little on the pricey side and(although excellent) not exactly traditional French cuisine. We’re not looking for California cuisine or fusion. We love real, honest French cooking. RÊVE is exactly what we had been craving. The menu includes many of the staples that you find in any good Parisian bistro: Steak Frites, Moules, Soupe à l’Oignon, Huitres, Foie Gras — all beautifully prepared and presented. But they also offer a variety of dishes that are«upgrades» from the traditional bistro menu, like venison, a vegan option with veggies and millet, or scallops. The house-made pâté and rillettes are succulent, and the gougères(cheese puffs) melt in your mouth. The chocolate mousse was rich and amazing. Owner-chef Paul Magu apparently knows his stuff. The ambiance is casual and comfortable. Service is attentive and helpful, but not persistent or annoying(as seems to be the fashion in many upscale American restos). The wine list is well thought out and prices range from everyday accessible to worthy of a splurge. All in all, RÊVE has become our new go-to spot for French«comfort food».

Wife and I, and our 5 yr old daughter(equipped with an iPad), checked it out for weeknight dinner. We had steak frites and Scallops, 2 glasses of white, and the beignets. All delicious. Great baguette and butter, chef and hostess Laura were checking on us themselves. Recommended! Make this your regular spot!

We had the pleasure of eating here during their soft opening. What a delightful experience. The atmosphere is light, airy and comfortable. The chandeliers are beautiful. We were seated right away(we had a reservation). Staff was courteous, attentive and knowledgeable. I have a gluten intolerance and they went out of their way to ensure a safe eating environment, including gluten free bread for our pâté plate. They omitted the tortellini in the butternut squash veloute so that I could eat it, and what a wonderful, velvety soup, full of flavor and balance it was. My entrée was scallops — they were cooked to perfection and the risotto was a perfect compliment. Wine pairing was excellent, thanks to the sommelier’s spot-on recommendation. The rest of our party of six enjoyed every bite of their selections as well — including skirt steak with frites, venison and cod. All in all, an experience we look forward to duplicating again soon. Great start, Reve! Merci beaucoup!

I recently went to RÊVE for the first time and was blown away. The atmosphere was lovely, casual and elegant simultaneously. The food was incredible, and the service was very friendly. I enjoyed the steak frites and acorn soup but everything on the menu looked so fabulous I’m already planning another visit! Our server was so knowledgeable about the menu and made excellent wine recommendations!(I am still thinking about those heavenly cheese puffs!) RÊVE is by far my new favorite French restaurant!

The food here is VERY good! The french onion soup is the best french onion soup I’ve ever had! Very flavorful and the onions melt in your mouth. I also ordered the duck foie gras. I am a very picky eater, but I did try the foie gras, and it was the first time I’ve ever tried it. It was actually really good and I would definitely order it again. I also tried the mushroom tart and OMG! I wish I had ordered more than one! Sadly, I had to share it with my table, but honestly, so good. There were 3 different types of mushrooms in the tart. I highly recommend the mushroom tart if you like mushrooms. They have different seasonal menus depending on what is fresh during that season, so if the mushroom tart sounds good to you, you had better go now! For my entrée, I ordered the seared skirt steak and it had a side of french fries. The flavor was so rich. I’ve never had skirt steak like this before. The other entrees we ordered were the seared cod and the scallops. Best scallops I’ve ever tasted, and I don’t really like scallops. I would order that the next time I visit. The cod was moist and very flavorful. We also tried 3 different desserts, the crème brûlée, the upside down apple tart, and raspberry sorbet. They were all good, but I think my favorites were the crème brûlée and the sorbet. I highly recommend this quaint restaurant. I will definitely be going back and bringing all my friends to try it because there were so many options and I loved every single thing I tried. The food presentation was clean and crisp. I highly recommend this restaurant!
