Posados

I don’t know what’s happened in the past year but Posado’s has seriously gone down hill. The food was ok but the service was absolutely horrible.

Unfortunately Unilocal will not give me the option for zero stars. It amazes me that this place is able to stay open.
When I lived here 14 years ago this was a great restaurant. Now after moving back this place has gone to Sh! t.
I just left my 3^rd visit since moving back 6 months ago. The service was again horrible and the food was terrible.
If you ever find yourself in a situation where someone recommends going there to eat do yourself a favor and slap that person immediately.

Not good at all. When the best thing is the chips and salsa (and that’s not good) your in trouble. The chili relliano was soggy and had no flavor. The tacos had no taste and the fried ice cream taste freezer burnt and old.

Having grown up eating at the original Posados in Tyler, TX, I must say this location is not near as good as the ORIGINAL! It seems like there was a lot of flavor lost in the growing of this chain. At least, they do still make fresh hot tortillas!!! Their sauce was not as good as I remember but the chips seemed hot & fresh. We always sit at the bar & have MIKE take care of us. He seems to be about the only one that knows what’s going on & is very accomodating. This location is huge but I’ve never seen it packed & we’ve been at least 6 times.
SIDE NOTE: I judge all Mexican food joints on 5 major factors: their tortillas, queso, chips & hot sauce & of course, their margaritas!

Not sure how this place stays in business. It’s great if you want to get gas though.

Amazing atmosphere and Great Food, always stop by when we pass through Laffey. Big portions and friendly staff keep you in a good mood through out the whole meal!!!

Came here for 1 to have a late lunch and the service is awful. The food is okay but nothing compared to real Tex-​mex. I waited 25 minutes for a server and it was only me inside the restaurant. The cooks were on their phones, joking, laughing and eating food from their hands. So you can imagine how long it took us to get our food. So becareful what times you go there to eat, just because it’s not packed doesn’t mean it’ll be faster. The people working for lunch until 5pm are super lazy and would rather play on their phones. The manager is also really crappy. He sees all this happening and he’s just watching TV. Pinche puta

At one point, the phone rang for several minutes and the manager ignored it. Since it was bothering us, we offered (I am serious) to answer it. Manager thanked us but asked that we not answer the phone as the caller would, eventually, give up.
Our waitress arrived at our table apologizing for having a bad night. What? Most waiters and waitresses don’t apologize until they drop a drink on my head or get my order wrong. By the time the meal was served, I understood why she was apologizing.
The kitchen should have apologized to the entire Mexican people for the sorriest substitute for Mexican food that I ever tasted. I realize that Americans serve Tex-​Mex but, having lived in Austin, I can truthfully say that this didn’t come close to Tex-​Mex (or to food)
I could write a horrific story about my experience but I don’t want to relive it and, by now, you get the point that this restaurant is a disappointment. (I am still incredulous at the manager’s attitude.) You work hard so you deserve a good meal but you won’t find it here.
Finally, if you do risk eating here, note that the suggested tip amounts at the bottom of the ticket are wrong. The 15% tip was really 27%, the 20% tip was really 37%, and the 25% tip was really 46%. Ordinary mistake? Incredible incompetence? Outright dishonesty?

Worst Mexican food in town. Wish this beautiful building could be used for something better. How do mess up fajitas? Food and service are substandard.

So far sitting here over 15 min and no one has taken a drink order much less chips and salsa. The wait staff is clueless if they have more than one table to serve. Front of house manager is polite but sloppy dressed.
Now on to the food!
Kids eat free on Mondays and apparently it’s not a huge draw as again previously stated, the wait staff is definitely the «b» team tonight.
The fajitas for one look like a kids portion. Taste good but small. My wife says mine at home are better!!! The tortillas are fantastic on the other hand! Kids chicken tenders are frozen type tenders, good but not fresh.
All in all not sure if I will return, except for lunch drinks and chips.

To start off two servers at check in podium just stood there then walked away without saying a word to us. The margaritas were terrible. The first too weak. The second too strong. The third was just right because we got a glass of mix and shots of tequila and made our own. And the food was not good at all. After living in the south west for 10 plus years and knowing what real mexican food taste like this was another let down. Great looking location but that’s it.

It took us about an hour to get our food. The waitress told us «the kitchen was backed up» but the place was almost empty. The margaritas were WAY too sweet and when the food came out it was not as good at all! I won’t be recommending it to anyone.

This is a super tasty Mexican place. Pretty much your average Mexican restaurant. You get the yummy rice and beans on the side. Not sure why this place has such poor reviews. I think it’s pretty cool and it’s always dead so I get all the service. They also give you warm tortillas at the end that you put butter and honey on and eat like a desert. It’s free and it’s good.

Man, this place is horrible! Food was bad, but the service was atrocious! On Cinco de Mayo you are understaffed? Great move management. Took 30 minutes to get a crummy sampler platter and then another 30 minutes to get the bill.

We had a great experience. Enchiladas were great. Live music was a nice touch we didn’t expect on a Thursday nite.
I was scared after reading the reviews, but I was stuck on a field trip and had no choice.
We were very pleasantly surprised!
Maybe management took those reviews to heart.

Best dern chicken tortilla soup ive eaten since moving here. It was very fresh! Margarita was excellent as well. They were pretty busy but service was on point. The band was also really good. We will certainly come back.
I took away a star because the restrooms were absolutely filthy! My 3 year old refused to go potty… she said she’d hold it. Terrible restrooms.

Posodo’s get your act together! You have some things going for you but the problems you have are just to much to see me come back. Your tortillas are great and fresh but, your servers plate them with there bare hands. chances are 90% of the servers that are running to grab tortillas hands are contaminated. How can you let something like they fly especially out in plain view!
Food comes out cold, not oh it’s just bit hot enough. Certifiably refrigerator cold on 2 items. You do seem to have good quality meat… But could you cook it for me first?
As most of the previous reviews state. Horrendous service!!! Wow, what a rude, careless, and obviously unclean staff you keep. Such a shame for this beautiful building.
Your management comped our whole meal like they do it every day. Your profits are slipping.

It’s a real shame that great Mexican food at a place like this is ruined by constantly horrible service from the wait staff. I could go into details but the problem is there are far too many examples which is where the problem lies as other reviewers will tell you. Pick up the food as a to to order or better yet check out somewhere else like El Paso or Acme Taco and save yourself the pain.

My sisters and I took our dad here for his birthday after not being able to get in without a significant wait at other restaurants in the area. We should have just endured the wait somewhere else.
Our waitress was a real ditz and got four out of six orders wrong. Our orders took an hour and a half to be brought to the table and the food was just ehhh.
I wouldn’t return here and I suggest you skip it as well. Sorry, Posados.
