My wife and I went for the first time recently. It turned out that they had recently completed renovations, but since we had not seen it before the renovations, I can’t comment on the changes except for one thing: the acoustics were not good. There was enough reverberation and echo that the sound was mushy so that you could not discern the lyrics of songs. In addition, the particular group that night did their sound check from the stage. They didn’t come to the back of the room to check the sound level /quality. It was one of those situations where one set was all we could take. The food was good and the service was competent. Another renovation issue is that it was so dark at our table it was hard to see what we were eating. We will try another time since the food was good and it is a nice, nearby venue to hear music. Hopefully they will have tuned things up a bit more by then.

Worth coming to dance and drink. Stay away from the over priced extremely poor food and service. Stress of the staff starts the second you walk in. Bartender was stressed from the get go, waiter was either stoned or on some form of medication. Owner did the blind eye, you know he is very aware of how poorly his establishment is executing in all the above. Renovations are on the calendar, let’s hope that includes back of house and front of house. Band was good fun and thank goodness for our dinner companions.

Best night life in the area. Have only had apps but they were good. Check their website for concerts chances are they have a band coming soon who covers your favorite bands.

Great food. Great music. HORRIBLE waiter. Waiter passed my table a few times without asking if I needed something. Finally had to get his attention after he was serving someone else. He will my be getting a top from me. Otherwise, awesome food and Nina Storey playing her music.

I love this place, and the food is wonderful. The atmosphere is great. The people are very nice. My only complaint would be that I went recently and had several glasses of red wine. The first two were«full pours» in large stemmed globe wine glasses. The third near the end of the night was in one of those unstemmed wine glasses– not globe shaped, just regular– and it was maybe 1⁄3 of a glass. VERY«short pour.» I suggested that they only charge for a half glass, but they refused. We paid the same $ 8 for that glass. I found myself annoyed with them at the end of a very nice evening, just over a «short pour». It wasn’t the money involved, that was not that much– but it seemed CHEAP and sneaky on their part.

What a wonderful experience from the music to the wine and food. I really can’t complain about anything. We went to hear Nina Storey and I absolutely loved her. She is amazing! Our food was good as well, from the appetizers to the main course I was pretty impressed. We started off with some of their Hummus served with flatbread and Jumbo Stuffed Jalepenos. So delicious! For my main course I chose the Roasted Asparagus Risotto, this was a bit to creamy for me so would not pick this again. Everything else looked simply delicious. You really can’t go wrong. The Château St Jean Chardonnay was Devine. What a great evening hearing amazing music and eating and drinking. We will be back for sure! Look on their website to see who is playing and make a reservation. You will love it!

Always have loved this place since opening years ago! A bit crowded, online tickets sort of a pain; but exceptionally nice new front Manager from CA welcomed us with a friendly smile! Fun, mix of band styles, decent sound and energetic locally owned(I think still) venue. Should definitely market to those outside the area though since met multiple people from around Boulder/Denver and suburbs who never heard of the place!

This is a good place to go listen to music and dance if you feel like it, but if you want to eat or drink, then you might be seriously disappointed. We went on a Saturday night to listen to Bluez House. I really enjoyed the music, a lot of people were dancing, the atmosphere was great. I only give 3 stars because of the food. After all, it’s also part of the experience, and that was not a good one. For $ 18 you can get a sampler of 3 small plates, when they say small, they mean it. That sampler does not deserve $ 18, and I am not even talking about the taste(of lack of it) of the food. We had a few appetizers that were bland, and you could tell made with cheap ingredients and put together very quickly. I will go back to Nissi’s though but only for the music and dancing.

I visit the Boulder area once a year and always make Nissis in Lafayette a part of it. Others have complained about the food and I would advise to not order mixed drinks because you will get one so weak, you might as well drink koolaid. But I don’t go there for food and drink, I am there to dance, watch a show, and have fun. Sure, I’ll order a benign appetizer and a glass of wine, but the real draw is the fabulous entertainment that I cannot get anywhere else without going to a major city and paying much more for it. I encourage everyone to support this business as so many like this don’t exist anymore which is why the burbs are so void of entertainment everywhere else.

Music is the reason why you go to this place, unfortunately is and should not be the food.

Nissi’s can be a fun place for the 30+ crowd to listen to live music in Lafayette, and tye get some surprisingly good acts! The food, however, is an absolute embarrassment. So bad that it lowers the quality if the whole place. Eat before you go, or don’t go at all.

I came up here for the Wednesday night blues jam and had a bite and a beer. The food was okay(actually it wasn’t memorable. What did I eat?) but the beer selection was weak. They need to get more CO stuff up in here. The house band for the jam the Deltasonics are incredible though just fyi.

Nissi’s delivers on all accounts. 1.) The musical groups selected are all tops, I have been here countless times and seen a wide verity from a Rush cover band, to a Celtic band all excellent. 2.) The food 3.) The drinks 4.) The service My only comment is since they have expanded it did degrade the acoustics in the room(which were close to perfect now still above average). If you sit up close to the band it still sounds great. Tickets are very reasonable at around $ 15, but depending on how much you eat and drink it can get a little pricey.

Been here about 3 times now for various events(1 birthday party, 3 local bands). This last time was by far the most enjoyable. Small group of us came to listen to our friend’s 80s band play(The Retrosonics). Nice venue for listening, music is not too loud, intimate setting, in the neighborhood, great waiter(wish I had remembered his name — trim man with greying hair and goatee)!!! Waiter really was awesome, great service, always available, right on his game! Group of women were having what appeared to be a birthday party and it was fun watching them get into dancing and enjoying themselves as well as the other patrons that got up to dance. I am terrible at dancing so don’t, but it is great to see the older crowd get up and boogie! This time around, I ordered the appetizer sampler and was suitably impressed. It was only $ 10, maybe because it was special, but you got to select any 3 apps. I chose the ahi tuna on asian noodles, chicken lettuce wraps and the hummus plate. It came in a 3 tier tower and the portions were nice and generous. Everything was delicious! The last time we came, my husband got the salmon and was disappointed at the price, the presentation and the bland flavor… he said it was like they just poured some bottled teriyaki sauce over the salmon on Uncle Ben like rice with flavorless broccoli. I had gotten the chicken sandwich and while the sweet potato fries were great, the sandwich was nothing special and the price was steep… so definitely recommend the sampler app! Not sure about the drinks since I don’t(allergies)…but my friends seemed to enjoy theirs(bottled beer, wine and sangria). Nice local place to go listen to some fun music and enjoy some apps. Like some of the other folks said, no yelling, hooting and hollering, just genuine enjoyment(at least for the 80s band :))

This was my first time here. There is a two drink minimum and the drinks were not that expensive. There is some drink specials and the music was awesome! People were dancing and having a great time! There was a great vibe here and I hope they bring back the band She Groovez because they brought that great vibe!

This is the best place for mature adults to listen to music in Boulder County! Otherwise, your choice is to go rub shoulders with the college kids… now you know the difference! The music selection varies so that every taste is represented throughout any month. I particularly like it when they have 80’s bands play. You can reserve a table and order food. That gives you a place to hold your things while you shake it on the dance floor with your friends… VERYFUN and very local. We come here for a night of dancing, or to enjoy the bar out front. Note that if you come to the bar out front you don’t pay the cover… but you don’t get the dance floor either!

What’s up with the hateful reviews? Came here for a team outing and was so suprised! It’s live LOCAL music in the middle of a suburb! Hardwood floors, every seat close to the stage. The audience was more of an older crowd that night(I’m assuming since the drinks and food are a bit pricey that may be a reason) so no whooping and hollering through out the show. FACE was playing, who are a local acapella group. Great energy on stage, every seat in the house was given a fantastic view. Although it was pricey, the server was great at being sneaky and taking continuous orders throughout the night while the show was going on. Great place, and even if it’s an older crowd, if I dig the band, I’ll come back!

My husband called this place early in the evening to ask what time the kitchen would close, and he was told it would be open until they closed(12am). The website says the kitchen is open until closing time(12am). We got there a little after 10pm — the kitchen was closed and the band was playing their last song(which was awful.) I guess you can spend the extra two hours getting drunk at a crappy tapas bar with no music or food?

2.5 stars for the overall experience, but they need to have more entrees or bigger appetizer plates. I’m not a fan of small plates. Small plates = RIPOFF. I don’t care how good it is, not that I’m saying this place has very good appetizers, it’s still a rip off. We ordered the trio appetizer and chose stuffed mushrooms, calamari, and ravioli. The mushrooms were the only appetizer worth eating. And it was very scarce…3 mushrooms along with 2 ravioli and maybe 5 pieces of calamari for 17 bucks?! I do like the concept of live entertainment, but if you come here, make sure you have eaten before hand.

I’ve only been to Nissi’s once, just last night. It has some good things going for it but not enough to warrant a really good rating from me. Let’s go over the good points first. The location is in a good spot though it was difficult for me to find. They have lots of parking and it’s in a very safe neighborhood. When I saw Boogie Machine the ticket to get in was only $ 10 and I bought it online ahead of time. They had my name on a list at the door but you might want to bring your confirmation email just in case if you buy your ticket online. There are plenty of places to sit, too. They designated what was the dance floor by clearing an empty space but it ended up not being enough room, so people were dancing wherever they could find spaces between tables. It was kind of a mess and it probably could have been organized a bit better. Still, everyone was happy to dance wherever they could. Now, on to the bad points. I arrived about 45 minutes before the band started and sat at a table with seven other friends. Three people had arrived earlier and the others arrived at about the same time I did. It took our server 35 minutes to get our drink and food orders. So it was almost an hour before we had our first drinks. I ordered the Ahi Tuna Napoleon and the Roasted Butternut Squash Risotto. My tuna plate came out quite awhile before the risotto. I took one bite of the tuna and that was all I needed. It was seared on the outside and then cut into squares. The square I tried was frozen on one side and warm on the other and it tasted like canned tuna — very fishy. Gross. A fellow diner ordered the special pizza with sausage, lettuce, tomato and avocado. It was too spicy for her so we switched plates. The pizza was not crispy and tasted like a pita with cheese and chorizo on it. It was edible but really not very good. My risotto came much later, after everyone was done eating. It was actually pretty good with a nice sauce. Unfortunately it came quite awhile after dinner time so I wasn’t really in the mood. But even with all of the bad points I would go again to see a great band like Boogie Machine. I’ll have dinner somewhere else and show up to Nissi’s to dance myself silly. It really is a great idea to put a place like this so far up north.
