This store has a lot of great specialty arts and crafts supplies, as you might expect, but their prices never seem too reasonable to me. I grew up with Michael’s so it’s my first thought when I need something crafty, but now that I live near a Hobby Lobby it’s definitely my preference. Hobby Lobby also has a better selection. I think Michael’s is more personal, though – smaller and the employees are willing to spend time to help you and talk with you. I vaguely mentioned an interest in knitting and ended up in a 20 minute conversation about knitting vs. crocheting, where I could take knitting classes, and what needles I should start out using.
