Good hardware store. We have bought a lot of things for our house here. They have good prices on all their products. We have bought 4 or 5 area rugs here and they all have been very good quality for the price.

We are renovating our garage and doing all the work ourselves. I went online and ordered a new homeowner’s 10% coupon. It was emailed to me three days later in time for my visit to the actual store. Once at the store, we had the most wonderful customer service from a young man in the lumber department. He went over our Lowe’s list we made online and put in our order to be delivered to our house in Monticello. Then, he spent another 1.5 hours helping us pick out each piece of lumber, even getting someone with a forklift to bring down a new pallet for us to forage through. His patience and understanding was so appreciated since we know we were being overly picky. Then, he got a manager to override the delivery dates so that he could get us a Friday delivery in the morning. After that, it went rapidly downhill. After scheduling the delivery date two weeks in advance and being told it would be no problem at all, we called the day before the delivery and was told we weren’t in their system for Friday. Since we were so insistent, they told us they would try to get us in, but they couldn’t do it in the morning. On Friday, we called to ask for a specific time, and we were given vague non-answers. After calling them every hour on the hour, they finally told us the driver would be there at noon. The driver finally arrived around 2:00 p.m., but not everything in our order had been put in the truck. Some items which were listed online as available at this particular Lowe’s location wasn’t available and had to be special ordered. We worked with them to come up with an alternative, and Lowe’s sent another driver the next day with our alternative — and this time, the delivery was free, instead of $ 60.00. You expect things to go wrong when you’re remodeling, but you would think that if you spend thousands of dollars, were organized enough to give them a neat online list, ample time to get everything together and scheduled the delivery in advance that Lowe’s would give you the courtesy to get it right.

Lowe’s and I have a love-hate relationship. At times, they have everything I could possibly want for my home projects. Others, they have some things and others I have to order weeks in advance. My current project is a complete bathroom redo, all the way down to the studs. I ordered floor tile(plus plenty of extra just-in-case pieces). Three quarters of the way through the project, I find out that at least one whole box of tile is the wrong stuff. I then go to Lowe’s to order more and find out that it will be another two weeks before it comes in. Now I’m on hold with the room until the rest of the tile comes in. Stupid Lowe’s.

We ran into this location in the afternoon on Black Friday. Surprisingly, they had not sold out of several of the deals we were interested in. Hurray for Black Friday deals that don’t require getting up at 2AM! We found most of the items we were looking for without assistance, but we had trouble finding a few other things. A quick question to a sales associate, and not only did we get directions within the store, but she took us there herself. Now that’s service! Checkout was fast & friendly. We’d definitely go back.
