Learning Express Toys

Love the selection of educational toys and unique stuff you won’t find in your target or toys r us stores. Great and helpful stuff too and my favorite … Complimentary wrapping !!!

The charm about living in Lafayette is that we support our local businesses. At least I try to. Learning Express may be part of a chain but the stores are individually owned and operated. Before LE came along and if you live in Lafayette, you generally go to WC for toy/​game buying needs. Lafayette really needed a store like Learning Express.
I’ve been visiting with my 7 year old since they first opened and he likes to spend his allowance there. They are always stocked with Pokemon, Shopkins, Minecraft, Blue Orange stuff. Unlike other big box chains nearby… you’ll see a lot of items out to try and demo. This makes it such a treat for kids… and gives parents ideas on what to buy for that next birthday party.
I see something interesting happening at the store on a regular basis… whether it’s Win It Wed on Facebook, sidewalk sales, Shopkins trading event, etc.

Amazing store! They have wonderful gifts and an excellent staff. My kids are always entertained when we need to go here to pick up a present.

I live in Danville and have been to the Learning Express Toys in San Ramon numerous times and absolutely love it!!! I went to get lunch with some friends of mine in Lafayette and saw another Learning Express and went in with my girlfriends to check it out! However, this store was NOTHING like the San Ramon store! The girl helping us acted like we were just an inconvenience to her and was so incredibly rude! And then a lady, who I believe is the owner came in and acted so rude to her employees and even my friends and I. I don’t know who she thinks she is, but treating customers like that is NO WAY to get returning customers! Even if I lived in Lafayette I would drive the extra distance to go to the San Ramon store! They are always pleasant, helpful, and go the extra mile to make me feel like I’m their highest priority!
I don’t recommend the Lafayette Learning Express Toy Store at all! Hooray for living closer to the San Ramon store!!!

Welcome to the neighborhood! Who’d a known we’d be replacing a lot of our family games and have the chance to actually take our time and browse. The store is a wonderful change from video games and aisles of big store chaos.
FUN SELECTIONS
A refreshingly thoughtful mix of learning toys, outdoor adventure, crafting experiences, cool book selections, robotics, STEM selections, games for all ages/​temperaments, and even items that can be personalized. Don’t overlook the lava lamps, Boogie Board tablets and bins of small giftables. Complimentary gift wrapping offered. (OUR FAVORITES SO FAR: klutz charm-​making kit, plasma lil rider car, ez roller or turtle rider, any of the Spot It card games, pillow kits, melting monsters and snowmen, any of the Think Fun games especially Zingo & Rush Hour…)
PUT THEIR NAME ON IT
In case there are battles over whose Light Helmet is whose, personalization is offered as well. Neat organizational solutions like lidded trays or hinged carryalls are ideal for those overlooked stray things that often end up lodged in your toe in the early morning hours. Bigger totes and baskets plus pencil boxes are available too.
BIRTHDAY HELP
To help dial in on birthday gifting decisions, birthday bins are offered. A child can make selections… items are then
LOCATION
The toy store is in between Milo Sports and a nail salon. The strip shares a little parking lot to the left of Rustic Tavern, but metered, sidewalk parking also available.
PEOPLE
And last but not least… the staffers are exceptionally friendly, sweet, kids at heart! They have great ideas and recommendations and love to demonstrate their favorite games.

What a gem of a store we stumbled upon our visit to Lafayette. I’m a little late to post but we went in there in search of Christmas gifts for our son.
The store was inviting and interactive for children. I have to give the highest accolades to a staff member there named Wesley. Super friendly and was quick to point us out to some awesome gift ideas. He mentioned he had a 6 year old brother so he was on point as our son loved his toys!!! We don’t get to the East Bay often but will be back again for our son’s birthday! Would much rather give our money to this store than a corporate chain with no help for customers.

I am so happy to know that there is such a wonderful store nearby for kids to try out toys and so much selection. We visited on a Saturday evening recently and my son had so much fun trying out the games on the table making friends while there to play with. His favorite the flying turtle is a must and we had to bring that home. He couldn’t wait to get up early the next day to ride it outside.
The staff there is so helpful and friendly especially Susan and D. Susan seems to be so excited and interacted with the kids while suggested different toys and games. We were directed to many excellent options also for family birthday gifts. An added plus is the free gift wrapping something most stores don’t offer. The store is located between some other fun shops and we also visited the antique shop next store before going home to play with my son’s new special toys including a light up soccer gliding toy so much fun! We can’t wait to take our other kids and grandson there again to play.
Some other unique toys we found were a hockey game that we picked out for our grandson’s birthday that uses your fingers and another plus no batteries! They also have cool Giants and 49er punching bags and a wide selection of the popular Frozen movie items. We plan on going back for our next birthday gift shopping trip.

Wonderful experience. Awesome selection and friendly staff (especially Susan and D, who helped my daughter with a birthday box — great idea!). My kids love the trial table where they can test out the products.
