Latter & Blum Property Management AMO

A few years ago, my family rented a home through Latter and Blum. We completed all of the forms including one where we had to list any current property damage so that we would not be held responsible for this damage upon moving out. We were very careful to list every scratch, dent and non-​perfect area of the house. We returned this form to Latter and Blum as instructed before the deadline. Upon moving out of this property a year later, we were informed of the amount of damage deposit they were withholding. It amounted to ²⁄₃ of our deposit. The reason for retaining most of the damage deposit was a list of damages that were there before we moved in, and these damages were also on our list that we had returned to Latter and Blum previous to moving in. When we explained to the Latter and Blum agent that we had listed these damages before we moved in, their response was, «we never received that form.» So, if renting a Latter and Blum property, beware!
