The burgers and fries are pretty good. They have a decent variety of burgers. I really liked the turkey burger. The tuna on the other hand was nasty it was cooked well but the flavor not appealing to me.

I give it three stars because sometimes the service is just AWFUL. We like to sit in the bar area at the tables. We went last Friday around 5 and no one came to take our drink orders, we had to get up and go order at the bar. Which was annoying. The food is pretty good, we got the luau fries, chicken tender basket, and one of the burgers, I can’t remember which. The one with chili on it. Nothing special, I mainly go here because it’s close to home, fat pats burgers are just as good.

Just ok nothing to write home about, I would compare the burger quality to a hamburger from a fast food joint when they didn’t screw up your order and it just taste like it was freshly made. So basically save your money and go to a local burger joint it’s about the same, o and if you do go stay away from the onion rings the crust is hard as a rock will def scrap your palate.

I am comparing this to only high end burger places. Food quality: average Food quantity: small compared to most, but adequate. Not an oversized portion like most. Food pricing: average Sides: sweet potato fries are excellent. Strawberry shake was great. Overall: you expect gourmet buyers to be great, but this one is middle of the road for high end burger. If this was the nearest place when I was hungry I would not drive past it to go to another burger place. However if all of them were equal or close to equal distance it wouldn’t be my choice.

Sat at the bar with 3 friends and I had a shake plus a plate of fries with pineapple and cheese. Food was great and the bartenders were very friendly. We all agreed we will be back.

Great décor. Variety of burgers– meat and vegetarian options. The skinny fries were good but salty. We will be back again and I will try the Kitchen Sink milkshake.

This spot was a pleasant surprise for me. Reading the menu and driving by the location several times, I felt that the hype was really about the trendiness, but I was delightfully wrong. We visited on a Friday night and the place was DEAD, which made me a little nervous. The bar was a decent size and the atmosphere was clean, cool and contemporary so I couldn’t wrap my head around why it was so empty until I remembered there was a UL baseball game going on. While I’m sure they’d play the game, this was not much of a sports bar. We ordered the basic Front Porch burger, chicken tenders, fries, and a chocolate shake. The woman who took our order informed me that the burger is cooked to mid-well unless I request otherwise. I asked for medium. The food came out quickly. The hand formed burger was seasoned and cooked to perfection. The toppings were fresh and tasty and the fresh baked bun was incredibly tasty, although maybe just slightly too big for my bread-to-burger ratio preference. The thin cut fries were crisp and perfectly salted and the highlight of the meal. The chicken tenders were not my favorite, but I must warn you that I am a picky b**** when it comes to chicken tenders. The flavor was spot on, not too salty, and the right amount of spicy– just a hint. The texture is what threw me a little. The breading is a slightly crunchy(not crispy) recipe, which is fine, but the chicken was not tender enough to make it work for me. Crunchy breading usually rips the roof of my mouth up, and this breading was no exception, so I need the chicken to be fall apart in your mouth tender to help with that. I ate one tender, which was enough for me. The chocolate shake was nothing to write home about. It was pretty syrupy. But the shakes are served with the fat milkshake straws, so I didn’t bust a blood vessel drinking it. FTW!!! They do offer something called a Market Shake, which has donut chunks in the shake, which is then topped with a donut and whipped cream. Sounds like heaven to try on another day. A cool thing this restaurant does: because they bake buns fresh every hour, they end up with extras. Instead of throwing them away, they bag them up for guests to take next to a donation box that supports a local cause. Avoiding waste while helping others… I am a huge fan of this. Overall, I really enjoyed my experience here and would definitely go back for a burger and fries.

We came on a slow night. Maybe a handful of tables/bar area had patrons. We waited over 25mins for our food. Burgers sat in the window for at least 10mins waiting on the onion rings that we had. When we asked why the wait we were told that the onion rings take 30mins, mind you one of the burgers had 2 already on it. It was not stated when I ordered it was going to take that long so that was a little off putting. Well needless to say the burgers were like warm. When I saw the order of onion rings that I paid $ 3 for and seeing that there were only 5, not happy. The value is not there. Too much for just 5 rings. Pricing needs to be adjusted. Not a great first experience. Reason for the 2 is strictly based on service. However, the flavor of the burgers were awesome! They have good food, but the execution of delivery isn’t there. The place is really clean and love the feel of the place. I see there are other locations where we live and hoping for a better experience there. This one doesn’t want me coming back here when we visit again.

It didn’t show me much. For a burger and fry that cost 12 bucks it should be great. The burger was average. Half the tables are right next to the line, which means that if you sit at one of those tables, you keep having to have stop and chats with the people in line while your trying to eat. The shake was average at best but cost 6 bucks, not what I would expect from a pricey shake. You have to wait in line to order your food and pay. Then you find your own table, so if you get an appetizer, everything comes at the same time. I will not be back, ground Patti is much better.

Came here for lunch on the Friday after thanksgiving. The place was rammed as most restaurants were closed but they only had one person taking orders on the till. Rubbish. Although she was very polite, when I made an enquiry about an item she said she didn’t know the answer and left it at that. I had to insist that she found out. It took some time for the food to arrive(and we had to re-order the drinks) but the nosh was excellent. I had the greek salad with sweet potato waffle fries on the side. Delicious. Shame the attention to customers was so poor.

By far the best burger in Lafayette. I love this place, all the burgers, the salmon burgers also amazing. I love their sweet potato fries, shakes, the atmosphere, friendly staff, consistency, energy. I do not dislike anything about this place. We visit here weekly! HIGHLYRECOMMENDED!

The jewel in The Grub’s crown has to be their Jive Turkey Burger. The fun name notwithstanding, this delicious patty is well seasoned and juicy. Coming in close second is the regular beef patty with various toppings and butter bun made to order. The Salmon burger has also quite delicious, but the use of avocado in the actual party is not a good binding agent and it becomes a tasty mess. The only thing I might suggest would be to add Steak Fries to the menu for their homemade ketchup because the house fries are meant for toppings orders. And add Coke Zero to the fountain drinks.

My first time eating here. With many gourmet burger options available, I was eager to try a new one. The menu feels limited, even though it does have good variety; I’m not sure why it feels so claustrophobic. I ordered the ghost burger and a chocolate shake with fries. The bread was good, but the burger was wet, and dripped constantly– not sauce but juice, which stained the bun pink. The flavor was ok, but honestly I expected more intensity than I was tasting. The milkshake was a waste. Apparently chocolate means Hershey’s chocolate flavored syrup. The fries were nice and thin, but a little soggy. Overall, a disappointing experience.

This place was recommended to me because I was craving a milkshake on a random Friday night. Not being familiar with the area, definitely had to keep my eyes open because we had initially driven past it. I don’t remember the exact names but we ordered the chicken tenders, guacopotle, a spiked milk shake & a sweet tea. As a side note, I was disappointed with the other teas(the black tea, mango tea or black tea). The food itself was pretty good, definitely more than enough food for two people. I was surprised how many chicken tenders there were. Why not 5 stars? Just small things. — The tabling confused me with all the reservation while in line signs(I had to have someone explain it to me). — I felt our server was a little hovering. — I wish we had a spoon with the shake especially towards the end with all the mints at the bottom. Hopefully I’ll have the chance to go back again before I leave the area!

I’ve eaten at a bunch of burger joints in Lafayette and Grub is easily the best burger in town. Why is this you may ask? The main reason is they grind their in –house mixture of brisket and chuck every day. This results in a burger so fresh and delicious that it trumps any and all other Lafayette competitors. The buns are fresh, the toppings are good, as are their fries and onion rings. In addition to their excellent burgers, the chicken tenders are sensational, and the sauces that come with them are homemade and unique. Grubs version of remoulade is delicious, as is their BBQ sauce. This place really is a genius concept including their menu, their cool bar up-front with about 15 beers on tap, as well as their servers that have a clue as to what they’re doing. I was also impressed that when we got an order of onion rings that were not really hot enough, after we sent them back the manager came out to apologize and bring us a fresh and hot order. This joint and their management know what they’re doing. Eat here soon.

Was in town for business… right down from my hotel and it was new since my last visit. got the Lockhart legend. it’s a BBQ Burger. I got the sauce on the side. I ordered a Scotch. they only had 3 brands to choose from and only one decent brand. I drank 2 Scotch waiting on my food. When it came they forgot the fries(that cost extra not included in the 8 Buck Burger)… but alas they brought them in a few minutes… I cut the Burger in half and it was cold raw inside… menu states that my Burger would be cooked to a «juicy medium well»… not edible. sent it back Ordered a water with my meal and never got a refill until after my meal when I begged for it .I was sitting at the bar I’m front of the bartenders the entire time and they watched me crunching ice. never offered a refill. Second recooked Burger. now it’s WAY over cooked. guess they showed me… it was dry overcooked and had ZERO flavor… as in zero seasonings at all and it honestly tasted like a frozen Burger. it was nothing special at all. Told bar tender and she was like, «Wow that’s sad, most people tell us their Burger are way too salty«… Also fries had to be sent back… they are really thin cut. so either they are under a heat lamp too long and are hard and overdone or when you get some fresh ones they are so thin they don’t retain any by the time you eat half your Burger, plan on your fries being cold and inedible… unless you like cold hard bland fries… I would not come back. Zero flavor and zero effort to make it right after multiple things were sent back… Older manager, bald with glasses was walking around asking people how their food was but he avoided me like the plague… guess fixing it or hearing about it wasn’t his concerned. Well I am typing this as I sit here with my again empty water chewing ice and a nice young lady just walked by and asked me if I liked my Burger… I said not at all. she said. «really«and snuck away fast… Look it’s all hype at best.

I am not sure why people are giving this place 2 or 3 stars — it’s a great burger joint with plenty of choices, homemade buns, patties and fries for a good price with a good selection of shakes and beers. It definitely beats Burger Smith or five guys. Solid 4 stars!

Wanted to see what all the hype is about. arrived at the establishment, line was out the door. good right? Wrong. Don’t get me wrong, the interior was nice and modern, the work staff was amazing, but the food was not up to par. — Cheese Fries — Grub Skinny fries topped with Monterey jack and cheddar cheese, chopped bacon, and jalapeños. Served with jalapeño ranch — the fries was delicious, and the jalapeño ranch went well with it — The Front Porch — Lettuce, tomato, mayo and mustard on a buttered toasted bun — I had to try their known burger, so that I can judge the burger. the burger really lacked for me. Don’t get me wrong, the burger wasn’t bad, but then it was nothing special about it — Salted Caramel Milkshake — the milkshake also really lacked for me, it was too runny and had too much salt in there After hearing all the hype about this place, I was really disappointed in myself for waiting in line to eat here. I will not be back.

Finally hit this place up today and I have to say, this place has the best burger I’ve ever eaten! My girlfriend and I both had the Ghost Burger(I had mine Inferno… when your food comes with an ice cream chaser, you know it’s gonna be HOT!). We both enjoyed the burger, and while hers was spicy, it wasn’t too bad. Mine was very hot, but I was still able to enjoy it. It wasn’t too hot to ruin the taste of the burger. Also, the buns are made fresh, and are amazing! We also had the cheese fries. We ordered a half order to share and it was way more than we could handle! While in line, we were offered a sample of their chocolate and vanilla shakes. These things are dangerously good! Will be trying the spiked shakes soon. I also got a look at their salads and chili. Both looked amazingly delicious. I guess we’ll be back here often to try a whole bunch of what they have to offer! Definitely recommend this place. So glad Lafayette is starting to get places like this. Very trendy and excellent atmosphere!

Back for the second week in a row to confirm that it’s the best burger in Lafayette!!! I got«The Front Porch» and my boyfriend got«The Lockheart Legend». So juicy and the pickles are delicious :) We sat at the bar last week so we didn’t get to see the buns baking fresh by where you order! Very cool and VERYYYY good! My milkshake was perfect. I got Oreo again and my boyfriend got strawberry! Yummy yummy. Great atmosphere, great crowd, excellent staff! Can’t wait to go back next week. Maybe I’ll try something new(the chicken tenders look amazing)
