Absolute gem of a park for people visiting the Lafayette area. I stayed in the region with my partner and pet and we needed a place for exercise and dog tiring time. Girard Park was by far the best option as it had many amenities and space. This park offers playgrounds, tennis courts, basketball courts, walking/running paths, scenery, picnic areas, water fountains, a swimming pool, and plenty of parking. I was very impressed with the offerings. Being pet friendly was the reason I came here and there were plenty of other dogs to get playtime with. I would recommend this park for running, walking, or dog play as these seemed to be the most popular activities going on.

I really hate writing 3 star reviews because they seem negative to me. When I mark Gerard Park at 3 stars, I mean that they are «A-OK» in that they are a decent park but are nothing to rave about. The ponds are pleasant enough but become boring after only one or two visits.
The best part about Gerard Park are the gazibos with BBQ pits. Makes the park a great place to plan gatherings for social clubs and friends.
