Ace Appliance Service

Ace Appliance Service is AWESOME. They came out quickly and, not only did they repair the washer beautifully but also they diagnosed a very tricky problem with a dryer. I was completely thrilled with their response, their work, and their follow up. I have worked in property management and, believe me, I know a good vendor when I find one!

We have used these folks numerous times only because they are local. It is never right with them. The last call was for our washer machine. I diagnosed the issue, bought the part… I just could not access the area of the washer to install the part correctly. The Ace repairman created such a mess in our house that they had to send back a second guy to clean up the first person’s mess… and even then it was not completely fixed. They are expensive… every repair takes at least 2 trips to your house. They never have the part to fix the appliance and they make a mess. On one trip they damages my hardwood floors in my kitchen and on another they repaired the wrong thing in the appliance. They fixed something that was not broken and tried to charge us. I AM DONE WITH THEM. You are better off setting your appliance on fire and buying a new one. I do have to say that the administrative staff is very nice and they did offer us a credit for our troubles but that was even a fight to get.

HORRIBLE called for a repair and was told that if parts were needed they would credit the service call. Tech shows up, looks around the fridge, looks in the freezer and tells us we need to replace 2 control boards and to call the parts dept to order them. We call end up leaving a message and of course no return call. Call a couple of days later get the price estimate and its shy of $ 1,000 PLUS INSTALLATION and no credit for prior call. Total scam. Called another company who came out and fixed it on sight for under $ 150 and didn’t replace a single control board.

this is the absolute worst company. total disregard for customers time and their service is abysmal. they were supposed to be at our house between 830 — 1230 and didnt show up until 3. when we called to inquire about status they couldnt find the tech and then never called us back. when called again, we were told that the tech was doing a job and was held up. when we complained, the owner compared what they do to a heart surgeon, «sometimes things come up and surgery goes longer than expected and people have to wait.» ridiculous as this was for a dishwasher. run away from this company, they are absolutely abysmal.

I wish I had read these reviews before letting Whirlpool set me up with these guys. They were a no show for my first appointment, calling with about 30 minutes left in the ‘window’ to let me know that their repair guy wasn’t coming. I got a long story about from who I assume to be the manager about the repairman not feeling well, and how he was going to try to come it but it just didn’t work. Ooook, whatever.
I make an appointment for the next day (which means two days off work between my wife and I). 9 — 12 window… which is ridiculous in itself. 9, 10, 11, nothing. I call the guy at 11:30 to be told that they are on the job before me and he’ll be there soon.
30 minutes later and I get a call saying the repair guy hurt himself and won’t be coming. Sorry to hear he’s hurt, but send another guy. «We can send someone next week.» (I’d point out that the likelihood of there being an actual injury is slim considering their history of these issues)
Yea, no thanks. Avoid these people at all cost. Complete disregard for their customer’s time.

I echo many of the complaints the others have about using Ace Appliance & here’s our experiences: way too expensive, arrive w/​the wrong parts, no back up when a tech is out sick, inconvenienced too many times & they cancel the app’t after we arranged our schedules to be here. A few good things: our usual tech, Patrick is nice, careful & helpful. Katie, in the office has been nice & helpful. Roger, the parts guy has been nice but got testy when we requested to have some $$ taken off our bill due to their screw up w/​the wrong parts. Roger took only $ 59 off our over $ 800 bill. However, Bill, the service manager is horrible ! He is beyond rude, arrogant & mean! He didn’t care what & how he said things to a paying customer – a customer that has needed many repairs for a high-​end oven, that never worked properly from day one & paid Ace thousands of dollars for services. The oven company, Thermador, wouldn’t help, even under warranty. They would recommend a service company that couldn’t come for at least 3 months or more – w/​only 1 year warranty ! Rude Bill didn’t even get our names correct. A few times the Ace techs showed up too early than the scheduled app’t & inconvenienced us. Most of the time, Patrick showed up w/​in the 2-​hr time frame. When we asked to speak to the owner about our complaints, Bill, the rude service manager, said Ace is owned by a Corporation & all complaints go through him ! Really? When we were inconvenienced yet another time, we, once again, requested $$ to be taken off our over $ 800 bill & Bill loudly screeched that «they already took off $ 59, so what more do we want from them?» Can you believe this? We are still waiting to have this over $ 800 service repair completed – maybe today & then that’s it w/​them. Overall, we regret ever using Ace Appliance & recommend to our friends not to use ever use them for anything! Wish I would’ve read all these reviews before the last several appt’s w/​them. No wonder they have a D rating… it should be much lower than a D, that’s for sure.

I called them for my dishwasher. The man was in and out the door in less than ten minutes and they charged me $ 90 for the service call, which I can sort of understand, and $ 90 for ten seconds worth of shop vac time. The guy at least showed me what to keep clean for next time.
I complained about the bill and he said I’m not the first, hinting that it happens every day. I called the office to complain about the highway robbery. I suggested that they would do better to be honest and get repeat business than to rip people off and have them spread bad words about them. He said he would call me back after speaking to his technician. They never called.
I wish I had just kicked the guy out the door with out paying and told them to sue me. No wonder they have a D rating from the better business bureau. Anyway, I feel good in that since then two of my friends have called me for recommendations and I said «Do Not Call Ace!!» and they didn’t. Money into the pockets of someone more honest and reputable.

AVOID! I called Maytag when my washer stopped working and wouldn’t drain, and they hooked me up with Ace Applicance. They came out and told us that my machine, just a year old, needed a drain pump. I was confused because the machine is so new, and at most I do three loads per week. On top of the initial $ 90 diagnostic visit, I was looking at almost $ 400 to repair it. That seemed outrageous, so I had my brother-​in-​law check it out, and he discovered a quarter lodged in the machine. He removed it and now it works fine. Cost: $ 0.
On top of the incorrect diagnosis, they also refused to give me the part number for the drain pump that they claimed I needed, stating it was their policy. Shady. I’m upset that I paid them $ 90 to come out and look at it then got some ripoff ploy. Avoid these people and find an honest repair business.
