Mediocre service and mediocre food. It was edible but left no impression at all. Sort of like school lunch. Sauces are too sweet and brisket was fairly dry. Don’t see myself going back…

Service wasn’t spectacular, but the food was great. I had breakfast. When you get ham, you wonder how big this hog was. They bring your ham on a separate plate, because it covers the whole thing!!! Sausage links were huge and juicy. I couldn’t eat here every day, or I would be the size of a cow.

Good solid non Disney bbq place. Affordable too. Wet ribs very meaty and tender. Not much smoke but still good. Smoked turkey a winner. Brisket good as well. Try the mustard sauce

This is gut-busting great food. You will get a huge plate full of food for your money and it is fall off the bone delicious! Staff is exceptionally attentive and quick to get the food out. I had brisket and ribs, with collards and the loaded potatoes. It’s was AMAZING!!! If you eat here once, you’ll quickly schedule your next visit.

On vacation and was craving real barbeque. Super happy we stopped in this very cute, very delicious BBQ joint. The service was awesome and the food was mouth watering. The ribs were so tender they fell right off the bone and my brisket was ridiculously delicious. THEBESTBARBEQUE I HAVEEVERHAD ! I highly recommend this spot! Don’t pass it by!

Every time I go it just gets better than the last time. The bbq smoked brisket, ribs, turkey, etc. are out of this world! True Texas size baked potatoes that you cannot get at a the grocery store in Fl., are so good. Oh and don’t forget the banana pudding. I got the ½ lb. hamburger togo and it was the best burger I have had in a long, long time! The ground beef tasted like the best steak cut. Bright red juicey tomatoes with no hard white centers, and only the best lettuce and pickles! There are all kinds of things on the menu I have not tried yet, but I will be. I just can’t say enough good things about Texas Stockyards! The absolute BEST!

The food is pretty good, not a fan of their Au Jus though, it tasted like old drippings from the bottom of my grille(or what I imagine that to taste like) The service has been good everytime. The only thing is the prices. Everything seems a little too high. Not a very good value at lunch time.

My low rating is for cleanliness and staff. The food is pretty damn good. I went with two other people for lunch on a weekday. The building from the outside looks like a redone Wendy’s or something. There was two people eating inside. It was seat-yourself service. We were going to sit at one of the tables and noticed that there was a bowl of uneaten BBQ beans on the table, so we took the table next to it. The server came over quickly and took our drink orders. She was pleasant. They served the drinks in a large mason jar and the iced tea was good. The menu was a little confusing and you had to look between the pages to get the jest of how to order. The menu had a fairly large selection of options and it told you if the foods were spicy or not, I like that. We ordered Ribs, Chicken, and Brisket. Side orders were Mac and Cheese, Twice baked potatoes casserole, and garlic bread and corn muffin. The food came pretty quick and found it to be just above room temperature. The chicken was great, the wet ribs were above average and the brisket was too fatty for my taste. The Side orders were really good. The corn muffins were as dry as sawdust. Oh yea, we ordered onion rings and let me tell you, they are Huge. They have a crunchy coating that tasted great. I wished they would have been hot, but still good. The sauce on the table was a sweet Kansas City Style. Not too spicy. With tip for three people was under $ 40, which is fair for these times. Now for the bad. The restaurant did not have a clean feeling. There was an empty sugar packet on the floor next to our table, food and small objects about the floor. The bowl of beans on the next table was never picked up and cleaned off while we were there. The lady’s bathroom was out of soap. The server never came over to ask us if we needed anything. There were flies that kept landing on our food. When we were thru, we had to put paper towels over the plates to keep the flies off. When we got up to leave the server was standing near the door and did not engage us. We all said thank you and goodbye and she did not look up and in a bored voice said goodbye. The place gave me a feeling of «hope I don’t get sick from this place». Sorry, don’t think I’ll be back.

This place is one of my favorite places for BBQ. Don’t let the décor fool you, they might look kind of empty inside but anyone who is choosing Oakwood Smokehouse instead is missing out. Their dry rub ribs were fall off the bone delicious(and not too spicy) and their onion rings, fries and green beans were also really good. I urge you to ask for the chipotle sauce with the onion rings. It is soooo good. The waitress Theresa, offered it to us and it was a perfect compliment to their giant onion rings. Their sauces are interesting too. I liked to mix the mustard and the original bbq and the service was fantastic. The food came out fast and Theresa was friendly and helpful. Everything was fantastic. Absolutely no complaints.

I am from this area and I stumbled across Texas Stockyards a few weeks ago. Been back 3 times since then. The pulled pork and chopped brisket is awesome. I love that they serve the tea in a mason jar. Everything tastes better in a mason jar!

Enjoyed the haystack with the brisket… brisket was a little dry… I like mine with more fat and moisture. The fired pickles and cowboy egg rolls were a great start. Drinks are served in large mason jars. Their sauces are flavorful. I will be back to try the ribs…

I live in Kansas City Missouri and we came down in the Villages to visit. I became ill with double pneumonia and was put in the hospital for 18 days. Now I’m in rehab and since it is Memorial day and I’m from the Deep South I can’t ever remember not having barbecue on memorial day. I went online and found the Texas restaurant. They were so kind worked it out to make it possible for me to have the most wonderful barbecue dinner I can ever remember. if you want to start with the ribs or with the brisket or the fried okra or The double baked potato in casserole form or the pecan pie it will not matter because your end result will be just like mine which was awesome. Thank you Texas barbecue God bless you and God bless our troops. Linda Copeland Higgins Memorial Day 2015

We were lucky enough to visit the Texas Stockyards for the first time this week and will certainly return. BRISKET was delicious! .Maria, our server, and Vinnie, the manager, were both friendly and we received excellent service from each of them, Teamwork, they helped one another seamlessly. We had a lunch special… a brisket sandwich on a roll and a side of potato salad $ 7.99, Can’t beat that. We live over 30 miles away, and that’s probably a good thing. We would definitely want to have lunch there everyday. Great experience from start to finish.

If you go at the wrong time, the meat is dried or cold. Also, they have taken to reducing the amount of meat they put on your plate. The hours they post are not the hours they are open. Sadly, this restaurant is going to the dogs quickly.

Good prices, pretty good BBQ, attentive servers. Hubby got dry rub ribs. Not as good as Memphis but Tasty. Western beans side is very good but is a lil’ too spivey for me. His side of jalapeño cheese bread was a little dried out. I got special extra large sandwich of beef brisket chopped(kinda skimpy on the BBQ on this big bun.(Which was kinda dried out on outside, moist inside). With side of twice baked potatoes and cheese«casserole”(more like regular home fries). All 3 kinds of Sauces were good but all a little too sweet. Super sweet like that is great ON the grill for caramelization just a little too sweet to serve on the table. I must confess this place has lousy water. Tastes more like dishwater. I had to switch to a soft drink.

I, like most, enjoy a restaurant for the whole package. The package consists of all the visible or tangible experiences. However, sometimes you just move past the not as pretty exterior just to get to the food! Décor– it is pretty bright. Notably. The décor isn’t anything special. Prices: reasonable. Service: nothing to write home about. Food: delish. My fiancé and I decided to try out the Texas Stockyard because we’ve never been and I heard via Unilocal that the BBQ may be something to enjoy. The kids working here are just that: kids. They don’t know how to deliver great service and they don’t. You don’t really expect five star service in a BBQ establishment but I can tell you if they stepped up, that would get folks talking. I ordered 2 meat and 2 sides. I got the ribs, per the waiter’s suggestion and pulled pork. For sides I ordered the cucumber salad based on the Unilocal reviews, and the baked potato. My fiancé got the Cobb salad with pulled pork and a soup. The food servers forgot my potato and his soup. They also forgot his mustard sauce. And placed my BBQ sauce on his plate. We didn’t get the soup til we were leaving so I cannot tell you how it was. It hasn’t been eaten. My potato was awesome. I love that it came out with the trimmings. Yum. The pulled pork with original sauce was perfection. The ribs, sweet & wet, were tasty. All smoky. Great flavor. The cucumber salad was good. Very wet. The Cobb salad was okay but you don’t expect an awesome salad at a BBQ place. So– I rate this place a four. The food was yum enough that I want to go back and try the steaks. Check it out. Wear shades.
