I will frequent a chocolate shoppe on the quality of the chocolate they sell. I find that they use a high quality chocolate and I am willing to pay a bit extra for that luxury. When I lived up north every summer my sister would visit from Switzerland and bring a box of chocolates. I think that is where I developed a taste for the better chocolates. I don’t go as often as I would like to go, but when I go I do like to treat myself to a few items.

This place makes a majority of their chocolates on site. The others come from their Jacksonville facility. In the future they hope to make all the chocolate onsite. They have many chocolates to choose from… fudge, truffles, chocolate covered varieties… I had the dark chocolate malt balls. Very good! You pay by the pound. I will definitely stop by on my next visit to the Villages.

Tried a few different chocolates from this place in the past few days. The rum coated with dark chocolate was very good but I would have liked more of the rum filling and a thinner coating of the dark chocolate even though the dark chocolate is good. Raspberry/dark chocolate was just good but again the shell was too thick and the raspberry cream just okay. The raspberry jelly/dark chocolate was only okay with the jelly having no more flavor than Smuckers. The Key Lime was good but, like everything else here, had too little filling and too much shell. The toffee-dark chocolate had way too much dark chocolate and not enough toffee, you could barely taste the toffee. Also the chopped nuts on the outside were rancid. Lots of other things here like chocolate coated popcorn, pretzels, cookies, etc. Have tried none of them. Service is good. They have to work on the balance of flavors here and improve the fillings and get rid of those rancid nuts.

We sampled some of the hand made chocolates here this past week. The malted milk balls are quite good. This is a popular spot, the quality of the product is high.

Oooooo, my tummy hurts after this place! Peterbrooke isn’t my favorite chocolate but it is the best I have found in FL so far. My problem is that I can’t portion myself when it comes to chocolate, hence the tummy. If you stop in be sure to get a lemon pop and a chocolate covered rice crispy treat. Yum!
