Found this place while walking around in Spanish Springs square. The happy hour drink specials lured us in. $ 1.69 for a 12oz bear and fairly priced mixed drinks… couldn’t resist. Well, it did not disappoint. The place was full so that was a good sign. It is an «old fashioned» establishment, so no booths here. The number one meal ordered here is the fried chicken diner so I decided to give it a try. OMG! This chicken is crisp, tender, moist and flavorful… just how friend chicken should be. I thoroughly enjoyed my meals and my husband’s fried fish sandwich was just as good… had to take a bite ;) Service was also quick and friendly. We will definitely be returning. Oh, they have live entertainment too and a bowling alley… I think they are connected but not sure. Looking forward to visiting again. That is they way you should always feel after patronizing an establishment. Kudos!

An unplanned visit to McCall’s brought back memories. I had been to McCall’s several times in the past. Always a pleasure! We were seated promptly on the patio(no indoor seating available, due to a show later this evening). Our server also took our order in a timely manner. Drinks came out at lightning speed. Beer was good but my lemonade tasted weird, like a powdered mix. I ordered a burger with an Italian cucumber salad on the side. The burger was good, the cucumber salad wasn’t what I was expecting. Cucumber rounds soaked in dressing, at least the cucumber was fresh. My only real complaint is the loud country music they piped onto the patio.

Fun place, lively atmosphere. Attentive staff. Very Slow on getting stuff out of kitchen. Do NOT order beef on wreck sandwich OR philly steak sandwich. Both were the Driest roast beef We have ever had in nearly 60yrs of being beef eaters. Stuffing side dish was barely passable. It was a busy night in the square so I hope this was an anomaly.

Friendly fun place. Great service. The Fried Chicken was very yummy. Crispy on the outside juicy inside. Just Right! Live music both times I’ve been. Not sure if it’s every night. I’ll be back next time I’m in The Villages.

This place was very interesting. Very rustic with its décor and had a great live band to set the mood. There was farming equipment on the walls and what looked like hay as a unique texture. The tables were really close together and it was incredible loud for the first half hour. Service was kind of slow but we weren’t in a hurry so it was no big deal. Now, let’s dive into the good stuff! I had the taco salad and it was everything a taco salad should be. Spicy, sour creamy, all piled in a tortilla shell. Yum! I only tried a piece of my dad’s chicken platter but the chicken, oh the chicken… it was everything they say. Some of the best fried chicken I’ve ever had. Only second to my grandmas but that’s not their fault. Unfortunately, halfway through the chicken breast, my dad saw that the inside was almost raw. We all know raw chicken is not only awful but can cause some serious issues. Luckily my dad only ate the cooked part before discovering the mistake. Now, this would have been detrimental to McCalls review but the manager was completely mortified. She assured us that this never happens, brought my dad a free scotch, and took the meal off the bill. She did her best to make it up to my dad and he left pleased with the promise to return. It just shows you how far some good customer service will go!
