Connolly’s Bath and Tile Works

We are VERY, VERY HAPPY AND THRILLED WITH THIS COMPANY! I
My husband and I live in Mount Pleasant and were told about this company from friends who had their bath totally gutted. We saw their bathroom and were very impressed with the workmanship..
They began last week in our bathroom and we are thrilled! The two men show up at the same time every morning and work throughout the day and progress is fast, professional, extremely nice and trustworthy (bonded) with always
a very tidy cleanup.
I have given our phone number to Connollys for anyone who would like to speak to a very pleased customer… and no, we are not related to the Connollys!!!

Mr. Connolly refuses to take responsibility for the actions of his pets he keeps in his store. While in the store to select tile for my bathroom, the store cat bit my mother, causing a puncture wound. When told about the event, the employees and owner commented on how it is usually the dog who bites people but offered no apology. Not knowing the extent of the wound to my mom’s leg, I went ahead and checked out 2 samples for a week or so. The next day, the store called and demanded that I immediately return the samples because of a «large customer» coming in. The lack of professionalism displayed by Mr. Connolly and his employees and disappointing and I wouldn’t hire them to do any job.

I’m sure this will be deleted quickly. It shouldn’t be as I’ll keep my opinions to myself and just state facts. Timeliness is not Connolly’s strong point. Mr. Connolly was 20 – 30 minutes late for his first visit to our home. We decided to let that go and use them anyway as things happen. Then his daughter and my wife met on a Monday. She told my wife that she would contact me the next day regarding quotes for different glass doors. A week from that Friday (2 business weeks later) I called her for those quotes that she failed to deliver. We went forward with then anyway.
We were getting closer to start date and they had a $ 5,000 deposit. I get a call asking if Mr. Connolly could get some final measurements the next day. I rearrange my schedule to by there at 3:30 as agreed upon. I get a call around noon saying he wouldn’t be there «right at 3:30». At 4:30, he had still not arrived so I called the office (no one ever called me). I was told he was en-​route (it’s a 20 minute drive). At 5:25 he finally pulled into my driveway, almost 2 hours late. He had no apology, merely that «someone should have called you». Someone, anyone, is a representation of Mr. Connolly as he is the owner and company president. He refused to take responsibility for his own tardiness and never even apologized for wasting my time. That’s when we agreed to terminate the contract.
His wife promptly sent me a refund with a message stating that the contract was cancelled due to my being unprofessional towards their employees. Yes, that’s right, I was unprofessional. He wasted 2 hours of my time without so much as an apology and she calls me unprofessional.
Feel free to choose any contractor you like, but I assure you I will not deal with them again., I demand professionalism and a commitment to their word from any contractor I select. When A contractor fails to meet the commitments they make and blames others for their shortcoming, in my opinion, that is unprofessional and undependable. I would have no faith in the completion of a project within the timelines they have provided if the owner can’t even show up on time.
If you’re still looking for a great Bathroom remodel contractor. I went with Todd Christian Construction. They are a little less expensive and MUCH more professional. I’ll end up with a great bathroom and they actually show up when they promise, unlike the Connolly clan.
