Galleria Salon & Day Spa

I am currently sitting in the hair chair as relaxed as possible on my wedding day. Kim and Cassandra not only worked with us an our wonky time limitations, but had snacks, mimosas, and coffee waiting for us. They were true professionals, from the salon presentation to the assurance that all (nine of us!) were happy with our hair and makeup. Their friendly and jovial demeanor made the process go by quickly and pain free. All of our bridesmaids and mothers had completely different styles and they were all executed perfectly. I’m not sure what my expectations were going to a cute little mountain town for cosmetic talent, but it was far and away exceeded. I cannot say enough positive things about our experience, from first contact, trial, to right now when I’m getting my Finishing spritzes. Call Galleria for your wedding, seriously.

I had a wonderful experience the first time I went to the Galleria salon and day spa so of course I recommended it to several people. I called and made an appointment for a Saturday in June 2014 to get my hair cut and highlighted because I am in an upcoming wedding that is the only time I had. My appointment was for 9:30am. I live 45 min away so of course I left my house early knowing it was bike week so it would take me extra time to get there. Cassandra calls me at 9:05am to tell me Danielle who I had the appointment with will not be in but she could try to fit me in. I said ok.
The foils went fast and whole I was getting those done Kim shampooed and cut my mothers hair. They do not check their work. I was put under the dryer for 17min to help the foils process. I was still sitting there ten minutes after the dryer shut off. So my hair is over processed, brittle and dry. My hair is really healthy and usually goes back to being silky after overnight conditioning it. I left conditioner in it overnight for three days and it is still dry and brittle. Than Cassandra cuts my hair. I have pin straight hair where you see any mistake. It is an inch shorter on one side because again they don’t double check their work. My mom waited for a blowout for two hours and just like Cassandra Kim did not double check her work so it is uneven as well. Noticeably.
I will never recommend the galleria salon and day spa again. In fact I will recommend nobody go there unless you want to feel like a second class citizen because you are not one of their regulars want your hair uneven and over processed.

My review, rather than being based on services, is based on Galleria’s disinterest in providing services. Over the summer I called Galleria to make appointments for makeup and hair for my December wedding. I left a voicemail. No call back, so about a week later I called again and spoke with a receptionist who said she would forward on my info to the owner. No call back. Called several days after that and was told their airbrush tool was broken and they couldn’t do makeup, and that they would call me when it was fixed. No call back.
Months later, two months before my wedding date, I called to try again. This time I got a call back from the owner who was very lovely and pleasant but informed me that she just wasn’t sure she’d be able to do it for me. She wasn’t sure she’d have the machine, or the person, or something — I didn’t fully understand what she was saying the issue was. She was going to look into it and call me back by the end of the weekend. Guess what? No call back.
She did, however, refer me to someone else as a backup. She couldn’t remember the person’s name so just gave me a phone number to call. I left a message. No call back.
Seriously, are hair and makeup salons in NH so busy on Fridays in December that none can fit me in for overpriced wedding services? Something tells me its not exactly their high season… Strange business model and poor customer service.

I’m giving 4 stars instead of 5 because I didn’t pay for my services (the entire bridal party was paid for by the bride) and I only had hair and make up done.
Sandra did a fantastic job on hair and make up! My updo stayed put during a windy outdoor wedding. She even fixed my chipped nails that were done at Star Nails the day before! They were pretty quick and just really kind there.
