Fantastic chicken, amazing donuts, and today I had the pleasure of trying their king cake. More people need to know it exists. It’s like a giant king cake donut! It’s not quite traditional but it’s pretty amazing.

The donuts are the best? The chocolate covered twist, the donut holes, burgers also very good. Owner seems to be nice, but all business. Strange name of business.? Chicken and donuts, but it works? Food Very consistent? Oh! The breakfast sandwiches are very good as well.

The chicken fingers and sauce taste just like Cane’s. Service was nice, food was out with 10 minutes. Didn’t care for the cole slaw but everything else was great.

Remember McDowell’s in Coming To America… I chose this place because of the interesting sign on the interstate and I thought Chicken and Donuts sounded like a unique experience. It’s not. I drove through and I was explained the menu by the owner or manager not sure. He expected me to know what to do when I pulled up even though there is no menu posted. He explained they had combos with varying numbers of chicken fingers. OK… I asked, «Is that all you have?» I could see a picture of a hamburger through the drive through window. «We have fish dinners and burgers too.» Ah… I guess he didn’t feel like cooking those items. So I got said chicken tender dinner. I thought for sure there would be some version of a donut… like a yeast roll version… nope. Texas toast, cole slaw, fries and their version of Cane’s sauce. It was an unashamed ripoff of Cane’s. Tenders were on par with Cane’s not sure why people think they are better… they are larger not better. Canes has better Texas toast, fries and sauce. Tenders were good but I don’t understand why people would give food at the same level as a fast food place 5 stars. All that to say… why would you have an independent place with unique branding and just rip off a fast food joint.
