I am from Azerbaijan, which is right next to Turkey. Our cultures share a lot, including food. This place cooks truly authentic Turkish food!

This is a great little gem! The service was great and the staff was very friendly and helpful. The restaurant was very clean. We visited for lunch and they had nice lunch specials. The food was very well seasoned with good portions. I would go here again and would recommend this place to others.

We love turkish, greek, mediterranean foods, so we have eaten here 3 times. All three times have ended up disappointing. In the trifecta of things which I judge a restaurant based on(service, price, food taste), Turkish Kebabs falls short on every account. The prices here are strangely overinflated, especially for the style and atmosphere of the restaurant. You receive paper napkins and a laminated menu, plus you have to seat yourself, but you will easily be paying $ 40 or more to feed 2 people, which I find disproportionate. Perhaps its this misconception about the type of food I will receive that leaves me always feelings like I paid too much and got too little when we eat here. Now for the food, it has always tasted good, but there is nothing exceptional about it. The gyros are extremely standard and it disappoints me that they do not offer much variety on what types of gyros they serve. Most of the menu items are essentially the same thing, arranged slightly differently. For example, you take basically the meat, tzatziki sauce, veggies and rice, and they call that a «plate». Take those same things and put them in a pita? Now its a wrap. Put lettuce under them? Now its a salad. The final thing that bothers me about Turkish Kebabs is the wait time. I have never received what I would consider quick service, and even if I call ahead and order it to-go, I still end up waiting about 15 minutes longer than the time they told me to pick up my food. If this were the only mediterranean flavor option in town, I would probably suck it up and give them another chance. But fortunately, there is a far better place with much more reasonable prices and variety, just down the street.

Delicious and authentic! I enjoyed the chicken and beef combo kebabs which come with flavorful rice, pita slices and tzatziki sauce. All combined, the spices make for a tasty meal. It’s not spicy but the seasonings helped me clear some cheat/sinus congestion — always a plus!

Very, very glad I was able to talk my folks into trying a new place instead of heading back to the same old Greek restaurant they go to regularly. And so are they! Our meal was outstanding. I had the chicken kebab gyros(grilled chicken on pita) and loved it but the Adana kebab platter that my parents ordered was amazing — ground lamb and beef seasoned and cooked perfectly. And the rice it’s served on is SOOO good. I would have skipped the baklava since I haven’t had any I liked in years but my parents insisted… and I ate half of it.

Had an hour to kill, and hadn’t eaten dinner. I’m a fan of a good kebab so I thought I’d try Turkish Kebabs. The food was delicious. I got the combo(chicken and steak), and was shocked at how much food I received! I’m gluten free, and told my server. She told me that along with holding the pita, I’d also have to hold the rice. Really I asked? Yes, the rice has tiny pieces of pasta mixed in. Well, good to know! So no pita, no rice. What I got in return was my combo platter, a side salad(huge) and a hummus platter with sliced cucumbers and tomatoes. All for the cost of the combo. The chef brought it out to me, and I couldn’t believe the amount of food! I thanked him, and he told me that he had to make up for the lack of food. While the service was a bit slow, the chef(whom I’m guessing was also the owner) more than made up for it. I’ll definitely be back!

This is by far my favorite Mediterranean place! The food is always absolutely delicious and fresh. The kabobs are to die for! Whether we dine in or get it to go I’m never disappointed. The staff is very friendly!

I came in here the other day. The décor is much different than pictured here on Unilocal. They must have remodeled. It’s very nice on the inside. The menu board is gone. The front area now has a small wall to separate the ordering area(if you are to go) from the eating area. The interior is well styled. There are large vases, large live plants, wall sconces, nice chairs, and a large table in the middle. It even has a nice area rug underneath. There is outside seating in a small landscaped area. The bathrooms are a bit easier to enter, but there still is no baby changing station. The handicap bathroom would accommodate someone with a walker easily and a person with a wheelchair with some difficulty. The waitstaff is attentive, helpful, and very friendly. Our wait person would frequently check in with us to see how everything was and to see if we needed anything else. The food is very flavorful. I had a chicken gyro and my husband had lamb. Both were well seasoned and moist. We will definitely come back.

Just swung on by for lunch. Pretty scary place. Have a big menu board with what I thought was expensive. The lunch special menu looked okay, but only valid Monday through Friday. The front counter was all walled up with plywood except for a 2×2 hole which I think was for ordering. Stood around for about five minutes, but no direction or assistance, so we went elsewhere.

I really liked the food here. We tried all 3 meats: ground lamb/beef, beef, and chicken. I loved both the chicken and lamb/beef. Beef was okay too, but not as good as the other two in my opinion because of the texture. It was a bit tough. Anyways, the meats are all perfectly seasoned, and the rice it sits on is just superb! I could eat a whole plate of just that rice. It was so flavorful. The salad dressing was very vinegary — which I loved. Too many restaurants serve overly sweet dressing. It was a pleasant surprise to taste the acid on my tongue. Service was very friendly and prompt. We will be back!

So, if you’ve ever been to JBLM and smelled the grilled food coming from the Turkish tent, these are the same people… yeah, I get the restaurant is sparse and it may not be all fancy schmancy but the food is delicious. Huge portions… I have never been able to finish my meal. They offer chicken, steak, and a ground combo meat(lamb/beef)…pretty basic menu. Friendly staff, if you’re in a hurry, call ahead for a 10 – 15 minute turn around.

Wow! Our family wandered into this place today randomly. We had no idea what a treat we were in for. My husband and I ordered the beef kabob plate and the meat was tender, perfectly seasoned, and so yummy. It came with rice, salad, pita bread, and an amazing tzatziki sauce. Our two young boys ordered beef and chicken wraps and ate them up. Our kids are picky eaters so that was a very pleasant surprise that they liked it so much. The staff was very accommodating and friendly. We will definitely be coming back to this place soon!

I like to try a new restaurant twice before I form an opinion. In this case I wish I hadn’t. The second trip was horrible. I really wanted to like this restaurant. It’s in a nice location, the food is unique for the area, and they have filled an empty building instead of letting it rot. The customer service always has to match the food and for the price it had better be good right? A meal for 2 is close to $ 30. Your meal is served on a paper plate and you eat with plastic utensils which you get yourself. Also, water on the counter? Or soda in a can which you also get yourself. I have never seen this before. Makes me feel like the staff is just too lazy to get me a fresh glass of water. I already have to grab my own soda. Maybe I should hop back in the kitchen and help there too? For a $ 30 lunch I could go to Applebee’s right down the street. I bet they would get me fresh water! First experience was ok. The first visit the hostess was friendly and tentative. Until, she took my money. After she had my money I couldn’t get her attention for the life of me. Literally the second I signed the slip she turned her back and ignored me for the rest of my stay. No big deal she was busy right? Apart from two other people and a child, we were the only people in the restaurant. This is unacceptable. I just shelled out $ 28 plus tip. Makes me want to scream. Half way through my meal the staff disappeared and loud Pandora music started playing. Instead of turning the music down they shouted across the restaurant. I really don’t want to know who is giving who a ride home. This experience would have deterred me and I would not have come back but the food was really good, even when served on the thick, earth ruining paper plates. Second meal started well. Same hostess took our order. This time I brought my 76 year old grandmother. Food is good and she has never had tzatziki sauce(which is on all their dishes). My grandmother, much like other customers has a severe allergy to rice. We ordered 3 wraps all chicken, 1 with no rice, 1 mildly spiced, and the 3rd super-hot. Not hard right? Again, I made sure she knew one of those wraps could not have rice in it. 5 minutes after I ordered I got up to ask if those came with the tzatziki sauce or I had to ask for it. It is not stated on the menu and this was the reason I brought grandmother here in the first place. As soon as the hostess saw me get up she grabbed her phone, turned her back to me and headed out the back. This left me standing there in an empty restaurant listening to loud crappy Pandora commercials and pissed off. Finally a female chef notices me and answers my questions. She recites my order back to me perfectly and I return to my seat. Chef/employee number 3 brings out our food and slaps 2 of the 3 wraps down, doesn’t say anything and walks away. So when he brings back the 3rd wrap I’m ready for him. I need to know which wrap doesn’t have the rice and which wrap is really spicy. Turns out they all ignored my requests for no rice. All 3 wraps had rice and all 3 were spiced the same and ice cold. I tell him SHECANNOTHAVERICE! Instead of apologizing he challenges me and says its ok you can have the rice for free. Really? I literally told every employee in that entire restaurant that she could not have rice. One of them I told twice. Rice could kill her. I will never be back. Ever!

I guess I am in the dissenter in the reviews and I hate that because I always support local businesses and want them to succeed. I am hoping the business owners will read these reviews and consider suggested improvements. I was really excited to try this place but when we walked in I was disappointed immediately by the layout and feel of the place. It reminded me of, wait for it, a cafeteria at a morgue(is there such a thing?). I dont know but that is the first thing that popped into my head. It was sparsely decorated(just fake flowers hanging from planters on the wall) and tables lined up perfectly around the room. It was so sterile with no ambiance or feeling of anything really. ITWASFREEZING to boot. I left my down winter jacket on the entire time I was there. It was really creepy quiet in there too. Throw some music on, maybe even traditional Turkish music to give us a feel for the traditional food? How about a giant planter in the middle with some plants to break the space up and the cafeteria feel? So, on to ordering. We ordered at the counter and the lady helping was very friendly and nice. The prices are expensive imo. 10.00 for a salad and 8.00 for a wrap. We had two wraps, a salad, and two pops and it came to 32.00. So, that might be ok if it was a sit down nice serviced restaurant but here, you order food, and go pour your own water, get your own PLASTIC utensils, get your own can of pop out of the cooler, and sit down and wait. We received our food pretty quickly but it was ok. Just ok. It was served on PAPERPLATES. UGH. Seriously? I am not a total greener but seriously? What a waste of paper product and I am paying restaurant prices, put my food on a plate, a real plate, please. AND give me some real silverware. They did not have any lamb/beef(or combo) for the gyros which was disappointing to me. The beef was not real lean and it was pretty chewy. My daughter loved her chicken wrap but was irritated that they put onions in it when she asked for no onions. I am pretty sure I wont be back unless there are some changes. I think I will stick to the Gyro Spot down town for now.
