Great place. Wonderful baked good and just a comfortable place to relax and enjoy a dessert. I will definitely go back again. Would recommend to anyone as a quality business to go to.

Following the advice of other Unilocalers, I stopped here yesterday for a treat for my husband’s birthday. I was not disappointed! The bakery smells amazing when you walk in– butter and cinnamon. And their«cutie pies» are delightful to look at. They had so many options! I ended up selecting the Texas cheesecake and the Lim Curd Raspberry cake. The Texas cheesecake was my husband’s favorite. It has a pecan/brown sugar crust, cheesecake filling, and caramel topping. It was not what you would call«light.» A cutie pie of this is the perfect amount for sharing and having a tasty bite! I adored the Lime Raspberry cake. It had ribbons of lime curd and raspberry jam within a perfectly moist and crumb-y(you know that perfect cake crumb) white cake. The cake felt so light and tender in your mouth– airy, sweet, and not weighed down by a mountain of buttercream. The buttercream was outstanding. It was a thin layer that perfectly complimented the cake and gave it just the right touch. Add a beautiful topping of lime curd and raspberry jam and can you tell I’m in love? Can’t wait to go back!

It’s a really typical coffee shop/bakery feel. They workers are always so sweet and welcoming! The customer service is what I enjoy. I really really wish that I could try the macarons from this place. I came in a few time and they never have them :(which is why I gave it a 3 star rating. The lone star cheesecake is very tasty though, so is the black and white cake. The presentation is beautiful but there isn’t anything unique or special. Maybe when I have time to sit down and have some coffee with macarons with my boyfriend, we’re usually just in and it because we come to try macarons. I will update the review when that time comes.

Bought 3 cakes for my baby shower here. Started the process with a really low-key tasting to pick out the flavor combinations I liked. It was simple, and easy. The final products were beautiful, delicious, and very affordable. Have been back multiple times since to pick up a slice of cake to satisfy my sugar cravings.

Pros Atmosphere– real chill place. They have books, games puzzles, crayons, all sorts of fun little things to do. They have a couch set but then also have a bunch of tables and chairs. Open late– We came on a Friday and they were open till 10pm and unlike other bakeries they still had a lot of options of treats later in the evening. Location– easy access in a busy area. Staff– nice staff, was joking around with me. Cons Coffee– I read about desert and coffee in other reviews and I was picturing a latte with a tart. Heaven. Unfortunately they only have black coffee and tea. I’m usually a tea drinker but tonight I wanted a little more so I’m thinking that might be my fault but I think they would benifit more if they served espresso. Treats– Ives had better. Not that they were bad. Just not great. I’m personally not one for whip cream frosting but that’s what was on the cake.

I’ve been here a couple of times now and I just love the goods here. I LOVE pie and their banana cream pie just really hits the spot for me. I don’t like desserts that are unbearably sweet, but their banana cream pie is light and the crust is perfectly flaky. Sometimes, you just want pie instead of cookies, but don’t want to buy a huge one just to have a couple of bites, but they have pies that are the size of a big cookie! WIN. I had just bought a nice camera so I went in today to take a bunch of test shots while enjoying dessert. I really enjoyed doing both while listening to classical music(which they have on at all times). Enjoy the pictures! [BEWARE: food porn. You’re going to find yourself driving over there after seeing them ;) ]

This place is AMAZING. Such a fun bakery and an awesome assortment of desserts. We just ordered the mint cake and it was the best we’ve ever had. We highly recommend it and can’t wait to try other kinds. We will be regulars here! Your review helps others learn about great local businesses. Please don’t review this business if you received a freebie for writing this review, or if you’re connected in any way to the owner or employees.

Honestly average at best. I bought a few things for my family and they were ok but not worth the price. The crust on the banana cream pie was hard and definitely not flaky as was the apple caramel pie. The cake was just ok and a little dry and not much frosting. The chocolate chip cookies were not good at all as we just threw them away. Anyone can follow a recipe but it takes skill to cook and I honestly think this is what happened here.

AMAZING desserts. I stopped in here to try it out — it is hard to find but trust me you will WANT to find it. Super nice gal working — DELICIOUS pies, and cake. I honestly cannot remember what all we got as we got an assortment of desserts. ALL of them were really tasty and the prices were ok too. I would definitely stop by here again.

We just moved here a month ago, which meant that we had to walk away from all our cool food spots on the east coast. I’ve been busy looking for new places. Today happened to be my birthday and I wanted to find a spot to get cupcakes. I was looking through the Unilocal reviews and came across this place. One word, Amazing! I bought six mini pies(pecan, key lime, caramel apple crumb, triple berry, banana cream pie, and chocolate cream pie). I also purchased a slice of yellow cake with a caramel filling and topping. To die for. Side note: Since it was my birthday I tried every single one and they were all delicious. We will definitely be back. Special thanks to the owner. She stayed open so we could make our purchases.

not sure why it took me so long to write a review for the best. pies. ever. every single cutie pie flavor i’ve tried is so delicious. i’ve never ever been disappointed. plus, because the pies are small i always end up getting a minimum of 6 whenever i swing by. not too sweet, perfect texture, and you can taste natural ingredients. not preservatives and chemical additives. they also took care of my wedding cake for me! i got a small 2 tier naked cake, an assortment of a couple dozen cutie pies, and an assortment of 2 dozen cupcakes. all of the guests were in love with the desserts. despite the fact the dessert items were picked up the night before, everything held perfectly and still tasted fresh and delicious. this bakery comes with my highest recommendation!

It smells so good when you walk in to the Back Door Bakery. Despite the giggle inducing name(you know you did it), they sell some seriously delicious baked goodies. The mini-pies are a great way to show your coworker appreciation for a job well done, while not being boring with yet another $ 5 Starbucks card. I mean, how unique and thoughtful are you, bringing someone a cute little pie in a simple white box. Let’s face it, if you brought them a full-sized pie, you’d seem like a weirdo. Don’t be a weirdo. Buy a mini-pie.

Right away! Usually when i write my Unilocal reviews, i give it some time. The worst the place, the more time i give so i can go a second time or so and give them another shot. Maybe they’re having an off day? Very rarely do i find the drive to write a review right away, but The Back Door Bakery is a rare exception. My office brought in some cherry pie and an oreo chocoloate mousse pie and both were just heavenly. The crust for the cherry pie was thick and crunchy(not bready at all!!!) and the sweet to tartness of the cherry was perfect. Even though it looked small, it was anything but. Packed with flavor of deliciousness the pie was pretty hefty and took more than two bites to consume… especially since you want to savor each crumb. The oreo chocolate mousse cake was delicious with the crumbs melting and the mousse being thick but not too thick and not gelatinous. I hate it when you can taste the gel and this was anything but lacking in flavor. It was by far the best chocolate mousse from a bakery i’ve had since Cream Pan down in SoCal. Everything went perfect with my kona coffee and i can’t wait for the weekend so I can take my husband for some pie.

Woah there Back Door Bakery, where have you been hiding?! Tucked away between Lacey Blvd. and Pacific, this little bakery is a hidden gem. With tables and chairs scattered among the high ceilinged room and a few fluffy chairs and couches in the back, this bakery offers super tasty pastries and cakes for pretty cheap! My friends and I wanted a place to hang out and get dessert that wasn’t Appleebee’s or another chain restaurant and found this place on Unilocal.Open fairly late and only one $, we checked it out. The staff were all really friendly and the way it’s set up, you can watch them bake as they go. Pretty cool. We hung out and ate delicious little desserts and chatted on the couches for awhile — it was the perfect hang out place, and they even serve coffee if I remember correctly. I don’t know how I’ve never heard of this place before, but I’ll definitely be back on my visits home! Make sure to get a stamp card for slices of cake as well :)

Tee hee. I must be the only one with my mind in the gutter. Lol. Seriously tho… Bigdaddy and I pulled in late, because this place is so cool that they’re open until 10pm on Saturday!!! Yay to bakeries open late for cravings! I mean lets get real… when you want a tasty treat it’s usually laaaaate. Not at the crack of dawn. So kudos to being open late. Very very smart ladies! Anyways…we grabbed a mini cheesecake(my pic), banana cream mini pie, and a berry mini pie. My lord. WTF. That’s so not classy, but WHATTHETHE F. It was AMAZING. I literally have never put something to sweetly perfectly creamy in my mouth. Head out of the gutter. Like the cheesecake was rediculously awesome. And the banana cream was the BEST bc pie we ever tasted. Bigdaddy was short for words. That’s a big deal, cuz he doesn’t like sweets. I force him to try my sweets, and usually no reaction but this time he was all over Back Doors sweets… Shush it. The pastry dough was flaky and to die for. The place itself was way cute and open and airy. The girls were sweet and quick. It was just great. We will probably stop in a little too often to taste some more tasty back door offerings. Stop… I’m thisclose to opening my own bakery and staying open all night. What an idea. Maybe with a catchy name as well. I have a few names that come to mind right now… but probably not a good idea to post them here… lol.

Today I went here to find something for my hubby’s bday. He loves cheese cake so I was hoping they’d have some. According to their website they tend to have different pies and cakes by the day. When I got there I didn’t see any so I asked. They had«Lone Star» mini cheesecakes so I got a few. It tasted really good with the pecan crust! I would totally come back. They have a stamp card if you buy slices of cake or pie.
