Momo Sushi

Tucked into a strip mall, this is seriously some of the best sushi I’ve eaten in LA (sorry Mrs. Matsuhisa). Nothing fancy, but fantastic fresh sushi, rolls, bento, etc. Great for takeout and the party trays are a must have for parties! GREAT things come in small packages, and MoMo is a testament to that!!!

Great neighborhood sushi joint. The fish is always fresh, the staff is courteous and the food is served promptly. Every visit has been a good experience for us.

Whole in the wall amazing find! In a strip mall on Olympic and Lacienaga You’ll Find Delicious Sushi! I’ve been going there for about 8 years and recently had a great mother’s day dinner with my mom. Miso soup, tempura, teriyaki and everything is just delicious! Very good prices. You won’t regret going.

Great prices and prices! They even helped me figure out what I wanted to order based off other people’s Unilocal photos which is service you can’t get most places! That being said, I love their Tokyo combo with hamachi only!

This is my local sushi spot. The positive. 1) The sushi is consistent, tasty and usually fresh. 2) The size of the rolls are substantial. No petite sample sizes here. I usually order 1 roll and that can carry me through. I’m a big dude so that means a lot. 2) The staff is rather friendly and always greets customers as they walk in. 4) near my crib so I can walk even though they do deliver. 5) Reasonably priced. The only negative is that the non sushi items can sometimes taste like fish/​sushi especially the salad. This grosses me out so I no longer order the salad. Seems petty but it is hard to find a good healthy salad in LA and that bums me out because no other joints near me to walk to. I’m out.

They have delicious sushi and other stuff. I order from them all the time either for delivery or pick up. They messed up two time my order for delivery but were really kind for offering to bring the right order. All in all its a really good sushi spot and the prices are good too.

Great prices, and they deliver. Usually really quick. This ain’t 5-​star sushi, but hey, sittin’ on the couch and wanting some raw fish, this place’ll do the trick.

love this place even if its small. i usually place my order in before i pick up. i’ve actually had lunch at this place its a bit small very clean and great service. i was with my nephew and was trying to teach him about different cultures

I needed a quick bite and was up here from OC. This was great! Got the bento box and everything was perfect. I lucked out also in nabbing a parking spot when I arrived, as the lot is incredibly small and it was a Saturday night. Would definitely recommend.

The sushi from this place is okay, not the best I’ve had but very convenient.
One problem I noticed (once I received the receipt) is that the prices listed in this Unilocal page and the prices they actually charged DO NOT MATCH. Once I noticed I called back the restaurant to let them know that the prices didn’t match their menu. The excuse they gave me was «Oh we haven’t updated our menu». Since when is the customer liable to pay for a price that hasn’t been listed? They asked me to call back their manager, but they didn’t know when he was going to be in. It wasn’t until I threatened to completely dispute the full amount of my order if they didn’t match the prices shown, that they decided to refund me $ 5.00. I don’t normally care about small issues like this, but the fact that this business tried to make me pay for prices not even listed in their menu is complete bullshit. I don’t think the customer should ever have to call and ask if the prices listed on their menus are correct. Because of this, I will not be ordering from here again.

If you want good fast sushi then check this place out.
They don’t have a huge variety of different sushi plates but only some of the most popular sushi dishes. Prices are cheap, they have parking and they have friendly staff.

9:13pm and they said «we closed», even with door open.
I guess they make enough to decide that regular hours are not business hours.

Soooo many choices! Fresh, fast and delicious. I got three different rolls, each came with eight pieces and it came to $ 24.00. I find that reasonable, especially due to the location. It’s definitely in a shit hole spot (haha) but don’t let that hold you back from trying them out. I always do take out, but the entire facility is clean and kept up with.

Ordered here for delivery after seeing the amazing pics and reviews here on Unilocal.Before ordering, I looked up their menu online and decided upon the Sashimi Deluxe and well as a Tempura Udon.
Delivery was fairly quick but that is expected because I am less than 2 miles away. The true disappointment was the service when it got to my house. Not only did they charge me for a Sushi Grande instead of a Sushi Deluxe, when I called to complain, the hostess told me that it is not a wrong charge and it is a different price when ordering for a delivery. Oh really? Then why did I also pay a delivery charge?
Anyways, I let it go because arguing with her seemed pointless and she was being extremely rude and stubborn.
The food itself was… OK… Certainly not worth the price I paid. The sashimi was not fresh and had an almost sour taste. And the udon broth tasted like basically soy sauce and water.
All in all, I won’t be ordering here again and it’s a shame because they really are so close to me.

This place was delicious! I ordered and it arrived within 30 minutes. The sushi was fresh and delicious — OMG the YELLOWTAIL… yesssssssssss!!! In addition, I also ordered the Catapillar Roll, Spicy Tuna Roll (so happy they do NOT use mayo in their spicy-​T) and a Spider Roll. The Catapillar and Spicy-​T were amazing… Spider Roll was just fine. (Not enough crunch in the crab, but otherwise good.)
I would definitely order from them again.

Great spot! Our go-​to when we want takeout sushi. EXTREMELY friendly and prompt staff. We love that their small and seem to family-​owned, love supporting their business.
Great sushi rolls for great prices (which is normally scary if you think about it) but we have never had a problem. Everything tastes fresh, delicious and their miso soup is awesome.

I love sushi, but don’t always love paying tons for it. Momo is my go-​to when I have a hankering for sushi but don’t necessarily need the super fancy kind. I’ve only done take-​out or delivery (very small delivery fee, which is worth it, depending on the traffic) but their combinations are greatly priced for the quality of the fish. Love this place!

I think I’m turning Japanesa I really think so! Momo’s is this little bathroom size sushi place right on Olympic and La Cienega next to the 7 – 11. What you get for the price of sushi here is unreal. The quality of fish is so good and is tastier than any other sushi aside from Sushi Nobu. If you are curious to try it out do not hesitate. One taste and you will be a return customer. Sushi at this price and quality you can eat it every night. I’m actually surprised there are any negative reviews. Then I looked at the faces on those reviews. typical.

For the price, Momo Sushi is the best spot in this neighborhood. The sushi here is actually GOOD, much better than I was expecting.
Momo has an $ 11 deal that includes 5 pieces of sushi, either spicy tuna or California roll, and Miso soup. Pretty good deal! The food always comes out quickly, and service is quiet but good. All of the rolls here tend to hover around $ 10, but the meal specials are where you get the real value.
I would give this place 5 stars, but for 2 hindrances: 1) they don’t have soda water, bottled or on tap. Soda water is like crack, and I need a hit with ever meal. 2) Momo has fluorescent lighting, which is poison for anyone’s mood, especially if you’re a yuppie who works in an office like Yours Truly. If they add some bottles of Perrier, and put in some better mood lighting, this place would be gold. Nonetheless, Momo is still an excellent value for good sushi.
