First of, let me start by saying that I love the food here. Everything I tasted is great. The owners are friendly and they talk with the customers which makes you feel welcomed. The music is great, makes you feel like you are in the carribean. The problem is with, what I think is the daughter. The cashier has one of the worst attitude I have seen in the service industry. She answers questions with an attitude. She throws the food on the table. She rolls her eyes in your face and she seems to be bothered by everything you say or do. This is my first review. The reason that I took the time to write it is because I want to see this restaurant succeed. I am Dominican and it is good to see a variety of different restaurants in nashville. However, if this girl do not change her attitude I will stop going and I am sure I am not the only one. I have family members that feels the same way, and they too will stop going.

I let the 4.5 star Unilocal rating fool me. If I’d had read through the reviews I’d have realized that one of the 6 or so 5 stars was written by the owner. Any way, I had a very bad experience today and I won’t be going back. I was the only customer in the place, and I felt from the time I walked in that they weren’t happy I was there.
I ordered the curried chicken, rice and beans, and mac & cheese. The mac & cheese, and rice and beans were good, but the curried chicken was horrible. The least of the problems was that it was way overcooked and dry. You could tell it had been reheated from a previous day, and then sat in their steam table all day today. The biggest problem is not that it was dry, but the chicken was so overcooked, and had been chopped up so much that there were tiny shards of sharp chicken bone mixed in with the chicken rice and beans. You had to sort through every fork to make sure you weren’t going to swallow sharp chicken bones. I pulled a dozen or so out ranging from 1/8″ to an inch. The young lady that worked there asked me if there was a problem, and I mentioned all the chicken bones. This seemed to make her angry. She told me that it was made with chicken, and chicken have bones. No kidding??? I wasn’t concerened with it having bones, my concern was all the small sharp bones mixed in that myself or anyone else could easily choke on. Anyway, after I mentioned that there was no doubt I was unwelcome. They serve the food on throw away styrofoam, so I looked around for a garbage can to throw it away, but didn’t see one anywhere, so I left it on the table. After getting up to walk towards the door, the angry worker made it a point to show me where the garbage can was, so I turned around go the container, and walked it over to the gargage can.(again, there were no other customers in the place, but she wanted to make it a point for me to bus my own table) If you go, I hope your visit is better than mine.

The jerk chicken is add the chain. The owners make you feel at home and combine that with good food I have come back at least twice a month since I found out about this place. If you anywhere in the Nashville area and want some great Jamaican food this place is worth the drive.

Found this authentic Jamaican place. Brought me back home to the islands. The food was fantastic. The young lady that got my to go order was a joy to talk with about my homeland in the USVI. Will definitely spread the word to my friends and family about this place. Well worth the drive from Mt. Juliet for this white boy.

Not at all koolly running. When I got there there were 6 people in front of me. When I came to order they had run out of chicken curry. I had to repeat my order 5 times whilst waiting. Initially it was fun listening to the Caribbean lilted banter but after waiting an hour for a take out meal it had lost its magic. If they only serve 6 people in 1 hr they aren’t going to be in business long !! I ended up settling for jerk chicken, rice and peas & fried plantains. Now the taste was everything I expected so no problem with quality & flavor profiles. Whoever the manager is needs to install a system, order write it down stick on box with sides and pass to the kitchen for the main dish. Or even better assemble the plates in 1 place. If they wish to extend their customer base outside of the Jamaican clientele then they will need to quicken up as the time expectation here is fast service not Island time. I remember the film and I hope this was like one of their first runs and they come through I’ll visit again in a couple of months if still open as the kinks will hopefully be ironed out.

Way better than Jamaica way! I had the curry goat and rice and it was terrific. My brother had a beef patty and he said it was very good. We will be back!

This place has delicious Jamaican food. The stew chicken is my favorite, with cabbage, rice and peas, greens. Grab a bottle of ginger beer. The owner and staff are polite and professional.
