Love this place. Food is authentic and reasonably priced. Today I tried their Albóndiga soup. Very tasty. I would have preferred a 1 or 2 more meatballs but overall, very good. Tortillas de mais hechas a mano. Hard shell tacos always a hit. If you are in the area and on a budget, this place is a go!

Bad bad bad. I had high hopes as seeing lots of folks waiting when we drove up Oh Lordy how wrong I was. But hey now I know not to come back. 15 minute wait they said ok no problem it is Sunday after all that’s reasonable. Okay half hour later we’re seated. Ok no problem 10 minutes theres finally chips n salsa (nasty salsa by the way) but no napkins ok do I wipe my hands on… any suggestions. Ok 10 minutes later drinks and we ordered right away as predicting long wait. Yup sure enough long long wait for food. Didn’t I say no onions? Hmm I could swear I did cause I hate hate raw onions. Ok no biggie luckily they were in little pile to side. Flavor yuck yuck yuck tasted like El pato sauce on my chilaquiles. Oh well like I said tried it and won’t be back. Never take food recommendations from people with questionable taste buds! Lesson learned… oh but prices are extremely low I’m going to bet that’s why the are so busy

I am not one to leave the typical Unilocal review, but this place earned that. The rating is based off the food alone. The service was just fine, which makes me feel like an asshole leaving this review.
Shrimp cocktail was warm and very Costco like. Not worth it AT ALL. Should just be removed from the menu.
«Pastor Tacos» were NOT pastor. It was Carne Asada covered in some red sauce. YUCK. IDK what that sauce was. I rolled the meat around in my napkin just to be certain I wasn’t crazy. I wasn’t. GROSS.
The others that were with me complained about how fatty most of the meat on their plates were.
By far the worst Mexican food I have had in La Puente.

Goodmorning and now with my yummy breakfast im on to have a great day. So here is the run down this joint is def home cooking. I ordered huevos rancheros over medium they were perfect the ranchero sauce had alot of flavor. The beans we’re home cook yummy. There house salsa and chips are great. The waitresses were very attentive and came around alot to see how I was doing. Definitely coming back when im La Puente.

We came in on Sunday. I had the menudo. Menudo was different. The meat seem leaner. When I say different I don’t mean it in a bad way. The menudo was good. The place was packed. We waited about 15 minutes before we were seated.
Parking was kinda hard also. U do have street parking.
I will come back to try something new

Yum! I love Mexican breakfast and this place is the spot. So cheap and so good. Beans are delicious. The huevos rancheros is like 4.50. I live in West Hollywood… Not many places like this around there. Salsa a little on the too spicy side.

So there are a lot of Mexican Food restaurants in the general area, but this place is truly a gem. Fast & Friendly service combined with free fresh salsa & chips, comfortable setting, delicious food and affordable prices make this spot stand out from the rest.
I especially enjoyed the salsa verde, it has the perfect mix of hot fresh charred chilies that drive your palate nuts! Today I had the #17 lunch special which was two beef tacos with rice, guac and beans for about 6 $ and change. Worth every penny! I’m looking forward to coming back for breakfast because the Huevos Rancheros are on my radar for sure.

This has been my go to spot in La Puente for Mexican food for a couple years now! The service is top notch and the food is amazing. The agua de avena (oatmeal water) is so good and I personally think it’s better than Horchata. I would defiantly recommend their huaraches de rajas!!!

The salsa from the beginning was really hot but it was so good though! I ordered a chicken burrito and wow it was good. I didn’t have much of an appetite that day so I ate a fourth quarter of it but over all it was a excellent. Service was good. The waiter did forget what drinks we ordered.

Looking for a GOOD MEXICAN RESTAURANT well this is the one your want to go to. Nice clean comfortable atmosphere and great service! You will love their food its nice and fresh hot off the grill and homemade tortillas moist and hot and delicious!!!
I am very picky about Mexican Food and I am Vegan so it’s not easy going into restaurants looking for the right menu. I order veggie enchiladas and side salad with grilled veggies and beans (taste yummy !) My kids order cheese chicken with rice and beans and they love their food too. Everyone looks at my plate and says wow that looks good and healthy so they will create your plate the way you desire. ENJOY IT!!!

Started coming here with my family over a year ago and this place has been good to us. The food is so delicious and I’m a picky eater when it comes to my Mexican food. The waitresses are super nice and very attentive. They also have desserts which include flan, arroz con leche, and jello. I am not a big fan of flan but I tried my sister’s when she ordered it and it was actually really good. The arroz con leche is pretty good as well.

This place is a whole in the wall. The food here is very good. It’s almost tastes like home cook. They always have aguas fresca which are so yummy!!! Their menu has a variety from traditional breakfast to dinner and their prices are beyond reasonable!
The only reason that I am not giving them a 5 star is because they take a long time to serve u. I think they need a Better system of serving. The waitress are all over the place and are always running like a chicken without a head. They treat you good and they are always very nice.
I would recommend this place if you are felling Mexican!

Came for breakfast and it was good. The breakfast selection isn’t that big but they still offer a good selection. You are given some chips and two kinds of salsa to start. I loved their salsa! We ordered the huevos rancheros and chilaquiles with red sauce. I liked the huevos rancheros better than the chilaquiles, but both were good. They were both served with beans and potatoes on the plate that were delicious. I would like to try the lunch and dinner here in the future. The plates were pretty cheap. Both under $ 6. The waitress asked us if we wanted tortillas when we placed our order and we said yes but when the bill came they had charged us for them. Ok? Usually that’s not what mexican restaurants do. Oh and a cup of coffee was almost $ 4! Sorry but this isn’t starbucks lol. Especially when they have those cheap half & half creamers and sugar for the coffee only, so $ 4 for a cup… eh.

A hidden gem! I’ve lived in west covina-​la Puente for 25 years and have driven past this place a million + times. I’m kicking myself in the butt for not finding this authentic Mexican restaurant a lot sooner. Service: good for a Saturday morning Cleanliness: A+ (which I’m keen about) Food: awesome Location: good location, parking sucks. Oh yeah & their salsa was «A HIT», greatness in a bowl haha lol

Well, I was really disappointed with the hard shell tacos. :-(I returned after having a really good meal the last time I came here only to be disappointed today. They REALLY skimp on the meat and barely sprinkle any cheese on top. And the meat was bland. So disappointed. I really wanted to love this restaurant. Oh well.

This place serves very good food and good service! I’ve been here 3x in 3 months and has not been dis-​appointed — not my sons and not my guest. Everyone was satisfied and happy !
