Good Food however the service needs a lot of improvement. We were sat immediately upon arriving but it did take 8 – 10 minutes for the server to take our drinks. Food was good, green sauce is addicting but no refill. Manager or owner eats and is on the phone as he walks around.

I came here on a Sunday afternoon and it definitely was a disappointing experience. We were seated immediately but it took our server 10 minutes to gives us the menu. It took our server 10 minutes after to get our drinks. It took our server another 10 minutes to give us the bread to snack on. And then it took a little over 50 minutes to actually get our food and start eating. I thought it was just my table but it turns out the people next to us also got their food after almost an hour of waiting. The food was not bad but it could have been better. For example, my dad’s dish was cold and mine was also cold. The meat in my lomo saltado wasn’t as juicy and tender as I had wanted it to be. Portions for the rice were too small as well. Our server never checked up on us nor asked us how our food was. She was not friendly either. And she never apologized for being so slow and the long wait on the food. The place was clean and organized but service and food are a major turn off, I just would not return nor recommend. Then again maybe I came on a bad day so it’s a 50⁄50.

The lomo saltado is so flavorful. I regret not getting that dish instead I had gotten the tallarin de pollo.

I never use Unilocal to review bad service because I really think restaurants should be judged on the quality and unique nature of their food. However, in this case I was so mad I must let somebody know. We went there last Friday night(early — 5:30pm), we were promptly seated and then ignored. I’m not talking about too busy, I’m talking about ignored. I made eye contact with two servers handling another section(no response) and then lost it when after eight minutes(on the iPhone timer) two servers were standing in back having a conversation and giggling. We got up and left and won’t be back.

I came here tonight for the first time with my boyfriend and we loved it. The restaurant was much bigger than I imagined and we were seated right away. It was a little cold inside, but I prefer that than being too hot. Our server brought some bread and took our drink orders right away. We both ordered the lomo Saltado and it was delicious! This was a dish I’ve never had before, and I was so impressed! The meat and potatoes had an amazing flavor that was enhanced by the onions and tomatoes. It was well balanced with the green aji sauce, but be careful! It was spicy! This was a thoroughly satisfying meal with good service and a clean ambiance.

Enjoyed my dish Bistec ALa Chorillana. It was prepared quickly since we got there like 40 min before they closed. I would love to go back.

Food is great as always. I came during lunch an order the lunch special which comes with a drink for $ 9.99. I ordered a Inka Cola instead and I was told that it was going to be an extra charge and I was okay with that. I later told the waiter that I had changed my mind and I wanted a Sprite instead. He told me that he couldn’t change the order because his manager was not available to write it off. I don’t know if this is because they have new owners but they should never tell their customer that they need to pay for something they no longer want just because management is not available to make the corrections. I will still continue to visit this place but I’ll recommend that changes are made with the management regarding order corrections.

Very good flavors, good service, and clean. I ordered the Saltado Especial, large portion! Calamari appetizer was huge as well. Green hot sauce was very good.

Same food, Same staff, but different owner. I always come here time to time since it’s the only Peruvian restaurant around Fullerton/La Mirada. It was better once known as «Mario’s». The food tastes bomb as before, the addicting green sauce/bread rolls are the same and even the interior still looks the same! The menu is a little different however it didn’t bother me since all I ever get here is the infamous Lomo Saltado(Beef or Chicken) and the Tallarin del Pollo(Chicken Stir Noodles). When you first get seated, the server brings a basket of bread rolls along with some butter and the famous green sauce. You can either eat the bread with butter or the green sauce. I personally pour the green sauce on a plate a dip the bread in it. ***GAMECHANGER*** Ask for lemon and squeeze out the lemon juice onto the green sauce. Everyone who tried this technique all loved it. Lomo Saltado — I can’t get enough of this. It’s a mixed platter of fat juicy pieces of steak, grilled onions/tomatoes and marinated fries. They also serve it with rice on the side. Smother the green sauce on top and spray some lemon juice on it! Tallarin Del Pollo — This is a good dish to share. I got one of this and one Lomo to share it with my girlfriend. It’s the same exact ingredients with the Lomo except its with noodles. For this dish I dip it in my green sauce/lemon combo rather than spray it on top. For 2 people, these two dishes are way more than enough. We ended up having leftovers and packed them up for another day. Make sure to ask for green sauce to take home with your leftovers! Will DEFINITELY be back whenever I’m craving some Lomo Saltado!

The place is ok but they don’t have a liqour license yet. the window says they applied for it. I order two plates for around 31.99 with two cokes. not over priced just rigth .the amount of food is good. it’s ok quality food but it has to much grease for my liking .my wife’s rice was alrigth… it’s worth a try .not a place to come all time. it wouldn’t be one my favorite I tried the lomo saltado .it’s beef. French frieds. Vetables in oil. with a side of rice. I give it a 6 of 10 it needs less oil or grease whatever they use The waitress was very fast and helpful and friendly and I didn’t piss or shit here but the tables and carpet looked cleaned .I give it a 3.5−4 stars has potential luv they guy playing live music gives you a feeling you aren’t in a burger place or Mexican food place .

Came in here hoping the food would be just as good as Mario’s.Never thought I would say this, but their LOMOSALTADO is even better than Mario’s! The fries in the lomo is crispier and the meat is more tender. Flavor is just as bold and well distributed. And the green hot sause, still kickin. Loved my dinner: O

Perfect lunch spot! Stopped in during work hour lunch and it was fantabulous! I am not a Peruvian expert so I do not have many to compare to but I know good food and the food here was excellent to say the least. To start, the restaurant is nice size with many seats so the wait was not not long at all. The service was fast and friendly and very attentive. The bread came out hot and the green chile came out fresh and spicy hot, just how I like it. I have to make an extra comment on the green chile sauce, it was delicious. They had just made it and I wanted to put it on everything. I pretty much did, except for my drink :) I ordered the saltado de Pescado and my friend ordered the camarones. This is sautéed onion and tomato with fried potatoes, fish or shrimp and lightly seasons rice. Omg, soooo good! The flavors are so delicious and different from the good I am used to. Nice size place for around $ 15 with more than enough to take home for dinner or hungry high school child to inhale in 2.5 seconds when picking up from school. I will definitely be back with the entire family to try the extensive menu of Peruvian dishes!

This used to be Mario’s, I wasn’t a fan, so when I saw the name change, I thought I’d give it a shot. I got food«to go» on a Saturday night. They were packed with more customers coming in an hour and a half before closing time. It looked promising. Here’s the rundown: Bistec a la Parrilla — «A juicy pan fried steak smothered in sautéed onions & tomatoes«if you look at the picture I took, its obvious it was missing the sautéed onions & tomatoes. The steak was bland. It really needed the missing ingredients. Pescado s la Chorrillana — «Fried fillet of fish smothered in sautéed onions & tomatoes. Served with lightly seasoned rice, boiled fried potatoes and special fried bread» The fish was bland, but with the sautéed onions and tomatoes, kicked up the flavor a couple of notches. But again a missing component. The«special» fried bread was left off. #SMH Sopa Sustancia«Special Peruvian noodle soup» — Finally a complete dish and it was good. It’s got some kick to it, yum! I asked for extra Aji sauce(4) I even told the lady taking the order that I would pay for them(0.25 ea). She said she would put extra for free. Yay! I only got 2, Boo. The Aji sauce was okay Service was very friendly. But the wait time was long for a to go order. I was quoted 20 min. It took me 15 min to get there and waited another 20 – 25 min for the food to come out. Then they inspected all the food before it was handed to me. And they still didn’t catch all the missing items on the dishes. SMH. Now I remember why I didn’t frequent Mario’s. Dido for Sol Inka, it looks like the name change was the only change.

Came here because of my love for Mario’s. It’s nice that this place offers everything Mario’s had to offer, but it just wasn’t the same. THEFOOD: I got the Lomo Saltado(it’s pretty much the only thing I got at Mario’s too). It was good, but on the salty side. The meat they used was also a little different than it was when the place was Mario’s. The bread and green sauce were still perfect. THESERVICE: I have to say the service seemed better than it used to be. It was also much quicker. Overall, I don’t think this place is exactly the same as Mario’s(at least where the lomo saltado is concerned), but it’s good enough that I’ll come back.

Never went here when this place was Mario’s. We actually stepped into the restaurant once, realized that there was no booze so we stepped out immediately. So, we recently went here for a lunch Sunday with one of our vegetarian friends. Pasta in Basil Sauce Chicken Fried Rice Inka Cola Loma Saltado Fries. Pros: Complimentary dinner rolls. The green sauce was really good(+1) Cons: Not much variety for non-vegetarians Our waitress did not remove the empty dishes.(–1) Dishes had nothing going on.(–1) Inka Cola had no refill.(–1)

Was glad to find out that even though it wasn’t Mario’s anymore it was still a Peruvian restaurant. I went on a Saturday evening. Seems like some of the old habits of Mario’s continue here. CONS– Only saw our waitress once when she took our drink & food order oh & the bill. French fries in lomo saltado were soggy drenched in oil. PROS– Live one man Peruvian musician show was very entertaining. Menu is very detailed Even though they added additional tables in the dining area it doesn’t make up for the lack of staff they have. That makes them slow & inattentive to their customers & it’s also the reason I took 2 stars off. The food overall was a 7 out of 10.

Bomb dot com! I’m surprised this place is no longer Mario’s, but their Lomo Saltado is still VERY delicious! I love Their Lomo and the green sauce. Service was very nice! Plenty of parking in The front and desk of the restaurant. I would definitely come back again. Sorry for the short review, but you’ve got to get the Lomo Saltado!!!

I come here to have Peruvian food !!! My ceviche was nasty and plain no flavor !!! The worst part is that I’m having Peruvian ceviche with normal corn !!! they don’t have rocoto(Peruvian hot sauce). I love how my waitress knew how to speak Spanish but for some weird reason is speaking English when we r talking to her in Spanish. The menus didn’t have any pictures to see how the food might look like. If a menu doesn’t have any kind of picture it won’t attract new costumers specially if they are not Peruvian. Never again… Don’t waste your time here this is not real Peruvian food. The only good thing is the chicha.

I am super relieved that Sol Inka is under the same management because I looooove Peruvian food! However I’m not a fan of the name change because it will still be Mario’s to me he he. The food is consistent, considering I ONLY get lomo saltado which is basically french fried potatoes(my favorite), red onions, tomatoes(second favorite), cilantro(?), and of course beef all beautifully grilled and marinated with delicious seasoning, mm~ ask for extra sauce for extra flavor! oh and of course, it comes with a side of white rice. Sometimes, I’d opt for chicken but beef is better in my opinion. I’m also a huge fan of free bread rolls! Skip the butter and drizzle some of that green hot sauce. So so good! Just be careful on the amount because it can get pretty spicy. This location is quite spacious I never experienced a wait before compared to the Mario’s in LA where the wait is usually like 40 min. Service was friendly the last time I was there so I’ll definitely be back :)))

So I tried to Unilocal Mario’s Peruvian Seafood because whenever I’m home for a visit, its an absolute must. and for whatever reason it wasn’t showing up. Le Panic started to set in, I mean I have other locations to eat Peruvian, but this one is my favorite. After a little digging, I find out that Yes, this location of Mario’s has closed, but fear not. Sol Inka is basically the same restaurant under a new name. HUZZAH! I feel like Peruvian food is such a well kept secret, so I try to take all my favorite humans here. After I set the play date, we made our way out to La Mirada for some Lomo Saltado. When my mom got word of where I was going, she insisted I bring her back a Mixto Saltado. I think my friend also ordered the Seafood Saltado as well. He loved it. I loved it. We both left stuffed and super happy. I cleared the whole plate. Maybe it’s been a while, I don’t even know. But I liked the food better under the name Sol Inka. And until next time… I’ll just daydream about buttered rolls with their special green sauce.
