This place seemed to be a pretty cheap price for kalbi and it was under 9 bucks for a pound of marinated kalbi. The label says«premium» meat but only cooking and tasting it can tell. Unfortunately, when we got home and cooked it the marinades kalbi was not that great. It was fatty and just didn’t have the right marinating flavor. We may never know what kind of other meats they carry as we literally saw nothing in there but the tray of marinade kalbi in the case. However, the worker said he just came back from vacation but still… How can you run a meat market with no meat??? Hopefully, down the line, I may return and hope to find some more meat to select from.

The guy who helped us was very friend gave us good tips on what type of meat to buy, We got brisket, pork belly and marinated short ribs for $ 37 can’t wait to bbq tonight They also use a reward card system with a hight tech machine that keeps track of your purchase and after you rack up over $ 10 in rewards you can use it towards a purchase :) Will be coming back again.

The service was beyond friendly, very informative and very generous with the side veggies and sauces. The galbi flavoring was decent(I thought it was a bit salty) but overall marinate was good. Definitely better galbi than your local Koran grocery stores and worth a try :) A bit hard to see if you are not a local, it’s few stores down from baskin robins.

So this butcher shop recently moved next to Surah Restaurant in the same plaza as the Korean Market on Beach Blvd. Their previous location(next to Renaissance café) was a new location as well, but I don’t think they were getting any foot traffic there. My mom said the meat is what Surah uses in their restaurant. I had meat from here 2 times already and both times were good. The guy here is much more personable than the people(owners) who work at The Prime Meat shop just a block away. Renaissance isn’t organic but they are Kobe. The meats here are also packed smaller so I can get more of a variety, about 1 lb. for each type of meat. Prices will vary but as of last week the Pork belly was $ 6.99/lb, Kobe Chadol(brisket) $ 9.99/lb, and Jumuluk(rib chunks) $ 9.99/lb. You have to season the jumuluk yourself-with seasame oil, salt and pepper. Jumuluk was my favorite… well marbled and so flavorful! They also have a Bonus card which is a plus. The only downside is that they sometimes forget to pack a side… like the green onion salad… uhem… You always get the green onion salad, korean red leaf lettuce, soy bean paste and spicy dipping sauce, raw garlic slice, and raw sliced jalapenos at any butcher with your meat order. YOu have to buy dduk separately. They also sell some beer and soju to the fridge on the left.
